Great place to eat, good service, and good Indian food 🍲

To be fair I have no problem with the food, nor the restaurant. It is their home delivery service!!! Despite it saying deliver at 7 30 and the person in the restaurant saying its on its way when I rang at 8pm asking where it was, it eventually turns up at 8 30 Stone cold!!!! I asked them what are they prepared to do about it......NOTHING!!!! So although the food was probably OK, it gets a 1 star because it was STONE COLD and useless!!!! AFTER A WEEK NOW THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO TRY AND PUT IT RIGHT. BUT THEYVE KEPT MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

Really nice food, the chicken pakora was the best iv ever had. Service was prompt and polite.

Had a table booked for 7pm on New Year's Eve. Arrived to chaos with lots of people waiting for takeaways and lots of people waiting for tables. No table available for us, despite booking. Spoke to some people in the queue who had a table booked for 6.30pm and still weren't seated so cut our losses and left! Can't comment on the food as we didn't get any.

First time we have been and I have to say the best Indian food I have had for a long time absolutely gorgeous won't be our last

ordered food just before delivery started at 1745. Food did not arrive. Phoned the restaurant numerous times only for the staff to keep me on hold and then just put the phone down on me. I eventually got through to someone who would speak to me and they said it was out for delivery. After another long wait I phoned again, apparently our food was taken to the wrong address and when they went to collect it they were already eating it!!! Finally got our food at 2130 ish but the order was wrong and freezing cold. Received a message from just eat this morning they are refusing to give me a refund and blaming it on the bad weather.

Absolute poor customer service ordered food that is no 2 hours late I’m sat on the phone as they say hello took my postcode and now disappeared 33 mins into the call and all I can hear is them all laughing and joking this is the second time this has happened I’ll never order from here again !!!!

We booked for Christmas Eve 5 weeks in advance. On arrival, it was clear they'd taken walk-ins meaning we weren't seated. Waited 40 minutes, others around us had waited over an hour. Staff were clearly stressed and too few, but the abruptness of one person in particular was inexcusable given the circumstances. We left prior to being seated without an apology. A real shame as we've been eating here as a family for 30 years. They've really let themselves down.

The food was really bland and tasteless. This wasn’t just my dish ( chicken tikka) but everyone’s dish in our party. Naan bread was very doughy and tasted undercooked. I am really baffled how this place won best curry house. 100% better Indian restaurants around. Really disappointed as had high hopes too after reading the reviews. Hopefully the restaurant reads these reviews as several recent reviews saying how bland food is as staff nice. Gave a 1 for atmosphere as table near us very loud and roudy spoiling it for all.

Tried this place tonight after reading all the reviews unfortunately far from what we expected, nice place , nice atmosphere, great staff and service, the downfall was the food a chicken dish was dry and pretty tasteless a mixes Balti was unbelievably bland we have had far better curry in Bolton in places without all the hype , so disappointed . We will stick with our local Indian in future ☹️

I find everything I need from an Indian restaurant. 5 star to me.

Arrived at 8pm , waited an age to get a table. Ordered drinks then again waited far to long for someone to take out food order . I may add we had to get the attention of the server to come and take our order , the older man did not look happy at all. When my food arrived, I was disappointed. I found the lamb dry and tough and cold . Obviously cooked days before . When we got the bill , they had charged us for two lots of drinks when we only had one lot. We made them aware of this error only to have the bill altered to the incorrect amount ,so again we called them back . When we eventually recieved the bill it was thrown on the table at us by the manager/owner. I would not recommend this restaurant and will be taking my business across the way . I may add we were going to book a large party of 36 ppl for Xmas but have decided against this after last night's poor outing. Please check your bill as its quite obvious items are being added . If you've had a few drinks it's quite easy just to pay and not look.

Ordered a take away following good reports and an “award” Waited just under 2 hours for delivery following 2 phone calls chasing delivery Watery food, chewy meat And no thanks , not again Very disappointed Back to other better local restaurants

Ordered food with a confirmed delivery time of 20.20 and it eventually arrived at 22.10 after two chases.

Fantastic food,service and atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and friendly even recommended the dish l chose.The Pavilion well deserve the Bolton News Curry House of the Year 2024 Award. You all have to try The Pavilion Restaurant, Blackburn Rd ,BL1 8NW,

Okay where do I start!! I’m reading all these reviews that how good this place is, I think these customers never been out to eat outside BOLTON!! I mean come on guys, if you think any of these India food places are good, my GOD, BOLTON IS THE WORSE PLACE FOR CURRIES!!! I’m actually shocked how not a single place is better than the other! After phoning up again for cutleries the waiter said hel sort something out but nothing happened. I put instruction green chillies in food and Asian style and spicy but again came bland!!! Says HOT ON THE CURRY SAUCE, but my two year old can eat that spice… The driver was polite which was the only good part.. Honestly if you eat in Manchester/Liverpool or even anywhere in Cheshire the food is decent… NEVER ORDERING FROM BOLTON AGAIN, never in my 30 years have I tasted rubbish food like this, that’s not here it’s everywhere in Bolton…. I was in this trade for over 20years as a chef, and if I served this type of food, the customers would’ve chased me out of town.

Ordered food for delivery tonight, ordered egg fried rice & recieved another rice with colors in it x not what I ordered x other food lovely

After a long 14-hour shift, I was craving something comforting and hearty. A quick search led me to The Pavilion. I ordered a lentil soup and a starter portion of tandoori lamb chops. Despite my small order, the staff were incredibly welcoming. The food was delicious, warming, and the portions were just right. I’ll definitely be returning for a more substantial meal next time!

Fantastic , Five friends had a meal on Saturday booked for 9.30 got there around 9.45 ,The place was full , I am a curry man at least one curry a week for years and The Pavillion was one of the best curry's i have ever had great fresh food they are all so nice and this our second visit in the last few months going again this week for a take away just fantastic xxxxx

Shows just how good this restaurant is as was quite busy even at 6pm. Good menu options, even a few English dishes to choose from. Very attentive service from friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. Car parking at rear. Takeout available for pickup 😃

Come here regularly, is always delicious. The team are lovely (served by Sunni today, he was excellent) - I highly recommend.

The restaurant itself is lovely and all the staff really did go out of their way to accommodate us, the service was fast and the portions were sufficient. The food wasnt so good, very dry chicken and the sauce wasnt very good atall. A little dissapointed so wont be returning for a while

Shocking after sales within minutes of placing the order realised missed item of rang spoke to them they said it’s already out for delivery left me on hold for over 3 Minutes I put phone down tried ringing again engaged for ages over an hour later it was delivered surprisingly !! Never will I order from these again !!

Visited the restaurant this week and I am very upset and disappointed with the service the staff were rude and passive aggressive i honestly wish I never went and I will not be returning .

Unfortunately a very poor experience - ordered food at 5pm for 6.30pm delivery - arrived at 7.45pm after 5 calls to the restaurant, stone cold. Literally stone cold. Extremely disappointed and the restaurant was not helpful at all, and did not seem to care. What a waste of £25.00

The food was ordered at 5:45 and I was advised it would be delivered at 6:45. I spent £20 and It finally arrived stone cold at 7:30. Poor service and cold food. Won’t be ordering from here again.

I got a takeaway and the chicken curry was disgusting chicken was black inside plus it was freezing cold avoid

If you expecting top food is not here. Just ordinary Indian restaurant. Nice, clean with good service, but food below expectations. Mix meat is just chicken and chewy lamb. Chips are extremely oily, salat absolute mini portion, mashroom rice overcooked and sticky with wet mashrooms. Nothing unusual.

We ate there last night the food was great as it always is, There was one young gent there who went beyond the call of duty and really looked after us nothing was too much trouble for him,he did write his name down for us but I have unfortunately misplaced it so a big thank you to him and the rest of the team for a very enjoyable evening and we will no doubt see you again soon. It is the second week in a row I’ve been in the area and there was no doubt I would return here after my first visit last week. I’m a curry fan… the spicier the better! This place was just a whole other experience to the other places I have ate locally. The staff are fantastic and make you feel welcome, they are exceptional. The food is amazing, even for a guy who loves spice (they accommodate!). All I can say is thank you and see you again soon! ধন্যবাদ

Service was bad for a second time. Took to long to bring food , first time we went they just forgot about us this time they moved us half way through the meal then didn't serve main meal for 35 mins, wont eat there again.

Went last night everything was amazing the food the service couldn't fault anything. My 7 year old son also came and one of the waiters called Rahid couldn't do enough for him it was a delight to see he is an absolute credit to the restaurant, will definitely go again fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻

We have been coming to the pavilion since 1997! Our very favourite restaurant!

9 of us just went for a meal i had steak . The steak was like the size of a beefburger and the the chips were awful. Left it all best part of meal was the after 8 mints bill was £259 never again

Rather disappointing meal last night on our anniversary, been coming for years here but for me standards are dropping poppadoms were small and broken, the plates had only just been collected when the mains were brought out, it's nice to be asked if we are ready for mains I like hot spicy naga curries and clearly it hadn't been made as I specifically asked.... hence the meals were rushed so sent the meal back,our table hadn't been made properly as there were no napkins, my wife's meal had been rushed and had just 4 king prawns, when my meal came back it was better but certainly not up to scratch and not what I would expect. The lamb was tough and the chicken rather soggy,and still had tomatoes which I asked not to put in, clearly staff are not listening when taking orders and some don't seem to have any idea what they are doing, there seems to be a constant turnover of new staff,don't get me wrong Santos is a nice guy,polite and courteous and does his best to make sure your meal is right but overall the standard and quality of the food is dropping we had a similar issue earlier in the year and didn't come in for quite a while but it seems things are going very lax and the prices are going even higher despite the temporary discount I am well aware the cost of everything is going up but the price of a curry takeaway for 2 is near the 30 quid mark nearly double that if eating in we have spent a lot of money in the restaurant over the years birthdays, Xmas, anniversary and so on,but based on our visit the other night we are considering not coming again. I know not everyone will agree with this posting ok, we all have our opinions, but, at the end of the day we earn our money and spend it, this crititique is not meant in any way to be scathing or nasty, but we are just being honest,and if people don't say anything when not happy nothing would ever get resolved. Sorry pavilion very disappointed and quite let down.

Had a fantastic night lastnight for my birthday, table for 20 of us, staff was excellent and the food was great. Thankyou to all staff we all enjoyed it. Definately will be booking another family night. We loved it Thankyou everyone from samantha and all the family ❤

Can I say that the service is excellent here. The waiters always make you feel most welcome. The food is excellent and you never have to wait too long for it. Certainly one of the top five Asian restaurants in Bolton.

Please be aware that although the food and the service at the pavilion is awesome and I can't fault it , they are now adding vat onto your bill . Caught me out having an extra £19 added to my bill

Went here last night sataday with very special friends around 19:00 19:15 & for a change I didn't book feeling this would be emptyish, how wrong I was it was rammed people waiting who had booked, people queing Fantastic I thought this must be true to the reviews, we were quickly asked if we booked & repeatedly being checked on. the overwhelming staff were brilliant & even had humour being rushed trying there best 👌 we were quickly sat down given time to read the menu, take our drinks order we all started with the starter sharer & well we struggled there wasn't going to be room for our mains 🙃 I was right I asked for a doggy bag to take home 😋 no way was I leaving that delicious vindaloo curry, now have Sunday pleasure 😜🤪 10 out of 10 waiters 10 out of 10 cheifs 10 out of 10 owners 10 out of 10 bartenders Overall this from me is highly recommended for a party of four Starters mains drinks for just over £100 was superb, & I was proud to have taken my special friends to this outstanding restaurant. Icing on the cake was complementry brandy & baileys with mints. On our radar for good now we love bolton.

Ordered through just eat as the pavilion website wouldn't work.. unfortunately I would never use again as the food was cold, chips hard, chicken chewy. Also ordered £2.00 large tub of mango but got 1 small tub. It's usually pretty good but this experience has ruined it for me.

Absolutely fantastic food. The best curry I have ever tasted. Service was wonderful. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Restaurant is beautifully clean, it's lovely and warm and the atmosphere is fantastic. Can't wait to come back again.

Came for my 50th birthday meal and ong I wasn't disappointed, my partner and I chose the Banquet meal for 2, it was a great 3 course meal, with plenty for 2 and more with each serving, we chose the house wine which was a nice Chardonnay and I would give this a A+ and more, the staff are excellent and catered to us in a professional and polite manner, A+ for staff and service

Very welcoming upon arrival and definitely attentive to the table. Food was great and I tried a new one for me which was banglore, well worth trying! Our group was all brought brandy and the end which was a nice touch from the staff.

Never had a bad meal from the Pavillion in the 17 years I've been going! And now it's 23 years, had a great meal again last night.

Ordered food for pick up, got home and unpacked and Chicken Tikka Masala was Potatoes! Lamb Tikka Tandoori starter was Fish! Lamb Biryani had no hot sauce, so was a carton of rice with lamb added. I have made a formal complaint to Just Eat for a refund for the wrong food, in full, because the review posted on Just eat was followed up. This restaurant does not want to know. DO NOT USE THEM!

Not been for a while and honestly didn't enjoy it last time but gave it another go and it was absolutely superb!! Every dish tasty and fresh! Staff really friendly and service was very quick but gave enough time inbetween dishes when requested. Will definitely be back soon!!

Booked for 3pm sitting on Christmas day, arrived at 2.45pm and did not get seated till 3.30pm thanks to first sitting not leaving in allocated time. Took a long time to receive food and ended up not having dessert or coffees due to lack of time and feeling rushed, such a shame as the food we did have was great and we will go again but not for Christmas.

Still waiting on my delivery for 7.15 it’s 8.47 and still not here! Don’t you dare charge me on just eat! And no I don’t want the bloody delivery! £45.07 and no food!! Are you kidding me!!!

Turned up 45 mins late, this despite 3 phone calls asking where my food was, each time assured it had set off and be outside my house in 2 mins. When it did eventually arrive, the food was poor and stone cold. Ended up throwing most of it away as it was too late to warm up again. On my last call, I predicted to the staff it would turn up cold and asked for a refund….I was told no as it was already out for delivery! Oh well, you live and learn, never again. people might like food of them but i personally in my life first time eat such rubbish food no proper cooked no feel any spice in any dish don't go and don't waste ur money staff doesnt know how to talk when i rang them about food instead of fell sorry they just they ok so don't try this untasty uncooked food RUBBISH

The Chicken Chilli Garlic Massala was stunning. Highly recommended if you want a full flavour as well as a bit of heat!

Worse Indian food I have ever had, nothing but colour, very bad service and I will not be returning again, i visited Ayaanz restaurant which is just opposite to pavilion and was amazed by the food and service, pure Indian traditional food of the highest quality and service.
