Nice little place. Cakes looked gorgeous, unfortunately not a many options on the dessert side if you’re gluten free. (A few items from the We Love Cake range to select from) Sandwiches available with GF bread though. Menu does not state this - had to ask what options were available for someone gluten free. Person at the till had to ask someone else to find out.

The pantry hosted a baby shower today for my sister. The service was outstanding and the food was beautiful. The owner was extremely accommodating when planning the baby shower and the presentation on the day was perfect. Thank you so much to all of team.

Didn't have any food but looking at what others had ordered looked delicious. Ordered a latte with hazelnut shot and it was one of the nicest coffees I've experienced in this country. The English tend to do it too weak but this was proper coffee just like the French make. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Will definitely call again!

This is a lovely little cafe tucked away in the corner of Elsecar Heritage Centre. There’s lots of good cafes around these days if you look hard enough but what makes this place stand out from the rest (apart from the coffee) Is they really make you feel welcome here and actually care about their customers. I was that difficult customer this morning - I’d asked for a certain drink but wasn’t clear on the specifics, I’m quite picky about my drinks and asked if it could be changed, the manager went above and beyond to sort out my drink and really made mine and mums morning with her kindness. Thank you and we’ll be back for sure (and promise not to be as picky next time 😁)

I live two minutes away and always sit out with my doggy having a coffee and the odd cake fantastic all home made . Very dog friendly water bowls everywhere. It's a lovely place never had the food but it's a popular place especially on a weekend. If you love antiques heritage is the place to go ..

Cracking coffee and epic cakes, ideal pit stop when out for a pedal. Sat outside in the sun today but there’s a sheltered outdoor seating area too in a mini marquee. Will be back again soon.

Lovely cafe, the cakes and scones are so nice here and the coffee is pretty good. What I’d really suggest though is making it clear that theirs seating inside (although you can’t actually get in with the line out of the door to order). Also get some new menus with like cream tea, you pastries and cakes on I found the menu super empty and confusing.

I've been popping in to the Pantry for a "Café stop" while out on my bike ride for a couple of years now. Its roughly half way so just right. It's a lovely place to sit outside (if the weather is good) and enjoy what I believe to be the best scones you'll find anywhere in the UK. Home made, just sweet enough, lovely light & fluffy in the middle, perfect! The ladies who work there are always very nice, always there for a chat. The café is situated within the heritage centre grounds, tucked away in a sheltered corner. Inside is nice and cosy too. Prices are OK. About £6 for cream tea, you really can't grumble at that. They always have a great selection of other cakes and biscuits etc. If you're in the area or actually visiting the heritage centre I highly recommend taking some time out and go have a brew and a bun at the Pantry 👍😊

Met some friends here for a coffee. Staff friendly and I must say the cakes and pastries looked really delicious but managed to resist. Not much room between tables, you can just manage to get through if people move in. Didn't see any warm food brought out . Was late morning Wednesday when we went in and fairly quiet but my midday as we were leaving the place was full which says a lot. Plenty of tables outside, some under a gazebo but too chilly to sit outside.

Extremely friendly staff serving. Lots of outdoor seating. Attractive decor. OK prices. Good hot chocolate. My only mini-grumble was that my double egg sandwich eggs were overdone. Part of the unadulterated joy of an egg sandwich is the oozy yokes, but this didn't have that magic. I like my eggs runny, not semi hard boiled. It is sooo disappointing when eggs get overcooked. Still, the rest of the visit was totally fine, nice to have such affable staff.

Went with my mum and had a baguette when it came we were expecting a side salad of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber but what we got was a dollop of coleslaw. When we opened the sandwich there was only a very thin layer of egg mayo. We did question why they were no salad but the waitress said it usually gets thrown away so we don't order any, this was very poor value for £6 25. So P.s we went previously some time ago and had a very small bowl of soup which was expensive but thought we would go today and give it a second chance. We won't be going again.

***UPDATE *** We tried the big Romanian combo, and the papanasi, honestly the best food ive had all year, hands down the best place to eat in Yorkshire, the littles and romanian sausages are just incredible, cooked so well and so delicious and juicy. This place is a must! If I could vote 100 stars, I would. The absolute best kebab I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve tried everywhere in Barnsley, and even Sheffield and Helen’s is unbeatable. The people that work there/ own it are also wonderful and polite people. Everything tastes so so fresh and the meat quality is absolutely premium and you will not find another food establishment in the area with kebab like it. Thank you again. Next weekend we will be trying more from the menu 😁❤️

This Fish and Chip shop, in my opinion is one of the best in Barnsley never mind Hoyland, good quality food cooked to perfection a relatively reasonable price with pleasant and friendly staff, What more do you need from a great CHIPPY.5☆☆☆☆☆.
