The Palace Casino in Great Yarmouth

The management team and receptionist were the rudest I have ever met or known. They could not have been more unhelpful. An 18 year old with a provisional licence is not allowed to enter, when questioning why this is form of id was not allowed we were told that it is the ‘gambling rules’ and they are doing what they are told. After looking at the forms of id it states both provisional and full driving licenses are allowed as ids in ALL Uk casinos. The staff were so rude to me and my family and and ended the conversation with ‘we wouldn’t want you as a member anyway as you are too rude and complicated’. We are appalled at this and after seeing all of the other reviews we aren’t surprised why it has such a bad rating.

Staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful. They wont let you in if you’re under 25 and cant drive. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Couldn’t pay me to go back there

Manager is the rudest person I’ve ever met in my life. You’ll be lucky to even find space at a table as they barely have more than one available, understaffed and poor service.

The old lady who sells the bingo books is always ignorant and rude and very very unhelpful.. I have been a member for a good few years now and I have never known her to smile or engage in any sort of conversation unless it is to be rude or offensive. Why on earth has Patrick got someone like her still working at his bingo hall. Apart from this I love a game of bingo and this is the place I like to go.

Enjoy a pint and a game of bingo,so popped along.Entry deskman couldn't have been more helpful and enrolled us at once,meaning we could play that night.Ticket prices vary,depending on which night you visit,as prize monies vary.Rather a large bingo hall(another floor houses a casino) Games of bingo are in-house and "linked game"mixture,alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced but don't like the waiter service,as it was very slow and drinks served in plastic glasses,but it is due to present covid climate,as all these procedures are in place,screens/walkways/alternate tables etc.finished before 10pm,everybody out. Came here 2 evenings on our midweek break. Parking is free,up the buildings side ramp to the rooftop car park.

We went in around 7pm and the lady handing out the tickets was rude and unhelpful! ! We had popped in earlier in the day to ask about the bingo as this was our first visit and the staff could not of been more helpful throughout, such a shame one staff member let’s the place down. We visited the Felixtowe palace bingo and staff was superb.

First time here & never will visit again, can't pay via credit card & the lady was extremely rude when we was buying our tickets... then the bar staff tells us to WAIT when we want to order our drinks.... pen got snatched out of my hand after writing down my order for drinks ... really wished we walked out & asked for our money back...

Went to bingo for the first time didn’t know that you wouldn’t be able to buy a cold drink bearing in mind it is a really hot room. When I asked if I could get a cold drink the man was extremely rude whilst saying you can only get teas and coffee. I’m sorry but why sell cold drinks if you can’t buy them it’s ridiculous. If you go and want a cold drink I would advise you bring your own.

Fantastic night out, Went with work colleagues on a Tuesday night. Great value - All in bingo books only £9.80! Reasonably priced food and drinks too

Members only admitted despite sending for and receiving membership cards myself and family were refused entry reason given only clearance is by showing photographic evidence which we did not have while on holiday over 400 mile from home and the duty manager that evening would not under any circumstances admit us for the evening as guests.

Ticket man got my tickets wrong and then tried to blame me because of his poor listening skills! Seats are a tight squeeze and the cash bingo is so quick you could not keep up. But that is okay because the caller just tells you you have won - which means you could just sit and do nothing" Not that many in for a FRIDAY!

Me my wife her sister and her husband went on a bank holiday gambling session at the casino, we have visited before and will continue to visit again. All the staff and management were friendly the food was good and consistent, we can’t wait to visit again. The only downside to the casino was the slots the bonuses were very long coming in and the biggest problem was the locals reserving up to five machines for up to an hour which wasn’t allowed, apart from that I can’t fault the place. See you again soon

Chap behind reception was abdelightay be booking a holiday but was made to feel so welcome an absolute pleasure. Inside bit worn and dated but compared to Mecca well behind only thing I would add isserve ft nks before six makes people spend more money

There was a raffle and a " guest" won a bottle of spirits.....it was announced that there was no membership number on the ticket so it was given to a member instead there was 4 of us good chance one of us won that .....afterwards the manager said they announced the number but we never heard it ......no explanation as to what game is being played it's very unprofessional a total shambles needless to say we won't be back

We had a brilliant night I won £30 sharing with one other person to be given £7.50 winnings to my shock I consulted the party of people with me and confirmed I had won £30. When contacting the bingo they just keep saying same old things didn’t call back so called again and they are still saying I’ve won £7.50 it was chaos at the end they didn’t now who had won what just making it up and snapping at other staff . I had been told they don’t pay your winnings and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Just look at the reviews. I will never be back and sending my membership back sticking to Beacon Bingo in Lowestoft excellent and professional service

Great time had here on New years Eve! Welcomed with a glass of fizz and straight onto the slots. The night continued well with prize draws for alcohol and slots vouchers. Got even better when the free buffet was served and consisted of a good selection of nibbles. Party poppers, hats and fizz was all on hand to help to welcome in the new year. Great atmosphere....well done Palace!!

Gran noche de diversión, etc. bufé gratuito raffles;teníamos un fabuloso cóctel de gambas de arranque luego todos comimos la carne con mucha variedad de carnes y verduras y servían un vino, una fantástica relación calidad-precio. Personal agradable y amable. Gran noche. No ganar algo, pero de todos modos nos divertimos.

Dreadful. I don't know how they sleep at night. I have never put so much money in so many machines and never got a bonus or any payout of any kind. 94% payout my ar**. And we weren't even offered a drink.

I'll get the negatives out the way first, a certain member of your team (named Nicole I think) was EXTREMELY rude to my friend, she was trying to put a new vodka on the dispenser and kept spilling it everywhere when my friend politely asked if she wanted him to tell her how to do it first time and without even turning to look at him she snapped 'don't patronise me I know what I'm doing' when she quite obviously didn't, she wasted a lot. BUT there was too other members of staff behind the bar one whom I think mentioned he was new (James?) and Cecilia? And they were both wonderful, very polite and helpful. All round wonderful hosts. There was 8 of us in total and 6 of us needed to sign up when we arrived but the gentleman on reception got it done quickly. Shame it was just that one person that obviously didn't have customer service training when she started maybe she can take note from your other wonderful members of staff.

We went to bingo last night and took my mum for the first time she like to play on the £50p £1 party bingo she won 3 times a £20 full house and £2 X £10 games she received £10 but not the other £30 so we called two different boys over to sort it out still nothing so end of bingo we go up again to see what's happened we speak to the a woman called Jan I think considering we r a customer I have never been spoken too like it in my whole life she near enough chucked the money at my mum and still didn't give her the full £30 only £20 very poor people skills management

It looks a lovely place, the decor is simply lovely... This is where anything lovely started and ended for us... It is the management which is the concern, some of the rudest people i have met, more so given i am the customer... therefore, we can not expect staff to work with respect of customers when the management are some of the rudest people I have come across... They are are not fully conversant in the English language wich made discussing concerns even harder and often further misunderstood... I left with serious concerns and of the view they are very discimatory, within in out party was an elderly man in a wheelchair who was made to feel terrible becuase of how managers spoke to us/him when raising concerns (in a very poilte manner), was quiet shocking...

Just disgusting. And the service is beyond awful, I even took time to note down the ladies name who served us. Her name was Elizabete. She couldnt understand a word i was saying, which is kind of awkward in an English restaurant?? We ordered a Disaronno and orange juice. And we got served a disaronno and Fanta???? HOW!We had deep fried brie for starter, this was cold in the middle, main course i had chicken kiev, was like slop on top of dry chicken with a pot of melted grease, i sent it back and couldnt stomach anything else. Not a apology or anything, she just looked at me in disgust then went off with another waiter and had a lovely conversation in a different language whilst staring at us. RUDE!The scampi was just battered mush, the chips were dry. it was just beyond awful and im not fussy!The casino itself is great, apart from the staff who run the roulette tables could do with a wash, the smell of sweat sometimes is stupid. Its worth a visit but avoid the restaurant at ALL costs. There are plenty fantastic restaurants in Yarmouth within walking distance.

My wife and I booked a Valentine Meal at the Palace Casino. We hadn't been for some time and found that the previous large upstairs restaurant had been turned to gaming tables and the new one was fairly small and located on the groundfloor overlooking some "one-armed" bandits. Although booked for 8.30pm the start was delayed from 8.40, to 8.50 and people were finally ushered in about 9pm. The meal itself was quite good although the rack of lamb was not cooked to my personal liking. Overall I was a bit disappointed and wouldn't be rushing to revisit the restaurant any time soon.

O.k ,whilst the staff were mostly foreign and not fully conversant with our language,possibly been left to do tasks that had not been fully taught or left to di before being up to it completely.After renewing cards and photos etc (waiting for others before us )We went to the dining are and was treated well enough , food was fine . I'm not one to say that you get what you pay for , ( I pay I want it nice ) it was then won £35.00 fantastic . Coming back

Had our staff xmas party last night and I have to say it was fantastic.friendly helpful staff and our meal was huge! The appetisers completely covered our table mussels, smoked salmon ,prawns ,filo prawns, garlic bread ,breaded mushrooms ,king prawns in shells, salads coleslaw.amazing spread. To be honest it was too much as we still had 4 courses to go although that's not really a complaint just a waste of food.our waitress was a lovely lady and the chef came out to ask if our meals were nice. I would def come back here.had a really good night all round.well done:)

Can you believe the Manager of the Casino banned my 82 year old Mums membership, because she complained that she hadnt received a £25 free chip offered that evening and not received. You might think she swore and shouted to get such a response, but no, her crime was to say that not receiving the chip was unethical.......i will leave the reader to judge whether the response was that ethical either! My advice steer clear.

Thought it was worth a try but wont be going back in the near future.A really nice young lady originally from Portugal greeted us on entering the restaurantshe directed our party of four to a table and after maybe ten minutes she decided to bring us some menus. We then ordered some drinks which came quite quickly.After ample time she took our orders but had to come back to advise us that one of thechicken options was not on the menu so had to order an option.Incidentally the very next table to us was left from the previous diners with plates half fullof uneaten food and this was not cleared until well after we had been service with our maincourses. The food to be honest was reasonable but nothing to write home about but you do only get what you pay for... The service was very slow, the real problem was that the restaurantwas understaffed and those staff on duty were in serious need of training.

As a group of friends we try to visit the casino about 4 times a year we paid a visit on Friday and were all a bit disappointed, The last time we went the we ate upstairs but the restaurant has now been moved downstairs which we all felt was a bad move as there are no windows downstairs and it just felt wrong,We all went for the carvery and all said it was not as good as we have had before,There was just one young girl in the restaurant having to do everything which is just not right, she was running round taking orders getting drinks and then doing what the chef should be doing carving the meat, As for the casino we had a good time as usual but will think twice about eating there again !!!

Well if you want to go to the local Casino for a great experience, good food & friendly staff....Don't both with Palace Casino, Great Yarmouth.We had to wait to be served ages at the upstairs bar and then she had to go downstairs to get it as pump wasn't working for mine, Duncans half pint of Bitter shandy came and had to be changed as off..as was the 4 pints of Lager that another table had.We then waited 15 mins to be seated, another 10 to take an order, more time to get our starters of cream garlic mushrooms which was cold, our mains eventually arrived Duncans steak was over cooked, the mushroom sauce, was in fact mushroom soup.. my wedges were extra extra crispy ( over fried ) meat was okay but not great...the best bit was though that every time we tried to cut our food, the plates would spin around as the place mats were slippery..Now we are home and both of us have got extra bad indigestion..wish we'd stayed at home...

Palace casino is a very well decorated place to eat..staff are polite when you can find them. Often waiting at bar for a long time to get served.despite being only 2 people in casino at the time. Fancied a meal tho..booked table and was told they can squeze us in room at the back.no problem ..how ever we were forgotten about . 25 mins we sat with our water whilst people came in after us were treated to rolls and then had their dinner. Finally managed to join long queue for food and whilst what we had was lovely..lacked vegtables and no yorkshires left! Vital on a roasty dinner!

We had the Easter carvery. The starter was quite poor - mushrooms floating in a sloppy, soup-like garlic sauce so I didn't hold out much hope for the main. Surprisingly, the carvery was really good. The ham was tasty and the turkey was great, as were the potatoes. The dessert was reasonable for the price. Unfortunately the server was abrupt, unsmiling and borderline rude. Luckily winning the cost of my meal back and then some afterwards took the pain away.

Good quality and great value. Friendly and efficient service with a relaxed atmosphere. Chance to win back the cost of your meals too!

the casino has a lot of tables and machines to keep you busy, the food in the restaurant is lovely, would reccommend this casino

It's ok ! Not very busy usually so no real atmosphere and also a lot of the tables are shut until you walk to them. Also not sure about all this internet playing, you can sit on a table by yourself and takes ages as the dealer is waiting for geeks at home to play.

I can honestly say this was the best meal I've had in ages. They have a wide choice on their a la carte menu as well as a carvery option. Between me and the rest of my family we ate a fair selection from both menus and were not disappointed. The staff were helpful and friendly and you can have quite a laugh with them which I think is a good thing. And the atmosphere is brilliant. The restaurant is lovely and it's nice to be able to pop downstairs for a few bets if you feel like it. Have seen their Christmas menu and am definitely booking my staff do for here

the carvery option was awful, dried out meat, overcooked veg and terrible service. when we complained we were told that was the standard and basically tough luck. my wife complained about the diet coke and was promptly barred from the casino aswell! avoid at all costs. unprofessional and unapologetic.
