The Ox Oriental Connexions Restaurant, Bar & Take away in South Somerset

Now called sues orientalist Kitchen. Friendly staff and accommodated my request to have a pho style noodle dish with prawns and veg. Was offered few stale crackers whilst I waited. Prawns were good size but shells left on so difficult to take shells off as was so hot in soup. Also not deveined so could not eat them. Noodles weren’t the best. Flavour was adequate with fresh veg but the fresh sliced chilli was clearly not fresh. Despite being lunch time had a table of 4 who clearly were regulars and another couple also who clearly knew the owner. Was not offered a drink however equally I did not ask. £7.99 for quite good portion but sadly couldn’t eat it. Shame as the owner was really lovely .

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was prompt, friendly and welcoming. I will be recommending all my friends and family to visit.

Just had a lovely meal at the Ox, Couldn't fault in any way, it was excellent. Really nice to see a more authentic Asian food option in Yeovil instead of the 20 westernized Chinese takeaways. Will definitely be returning

Gathered here with family for my brothers bday & had boodle fight. WOW it was amazing, all of us were in awe at how great the food was. The staff were so accomodating & friendly, beautiful atmosphere, it felt like we were having a birthday party at home. They even had karaoke and disco lights which was a great way to finish off the night. I have been telling everyone I know about The Ox and will continue to do so, can't wait to go back!

We were pleased to see the Ox open again but sad to see so few customers. It was a very quite day. We had a lovely light lunch. Both of us had noodle based dishes. The service was super friendly, not rushed but not slow. As usual the food was excellent.

What can i say.... some place the food might not be that well cooked, others poor ingredients, and some have terrible service but here they have managed to combine all three creating the worst restaurant experience possible. We did see the 1 star reviews before going but put that down to teething troubles and thought on balance it might be ok. We were wrong. Its difficult to describe how rank the food is but to put it into context I was starving and my main was so awful I could not bring myself to eat it. It was more of a bush tucker trial than a meal, one I failed. Flabby awful bits of pork floating in a sea of fat with some indescribable sludge below. We ended up going to tesco to get something quick to cook and eating at home. In 48 years and having had hundreds, if not thousands of meals in restaurants this is the only food I have not been able to stomach. The one plus side is I did eat a deep-fried veg spring roll as a starter and I don't think I have food poising, but it's still early days. Save your money and go somewhere else, this place is rank.

Fantastic and authentic food, this is a gem within Yeovil ! I would say this is a must visit, trust the chef and you you have a fantastic meal.

We had been planning to come here for some time but due to circumstances couldn’t eat inside! But once we got inside the restaurant we were greeted and felt welcome by the chef! The food was delicious and the chef was very passionate about his dishes and very informative about them as we had never tried Filipino food before! The service was quick and we felt at home! We are already planning our return! Extra bonus - we got to buy some of his delicious chilli oil!

This restaurant is absolutely lovely!! The food is just fantastic and cooked with so much soul (all fresh and made from scratch by the chef). The staff are so amazing as well, it gives the whole place a lovely family atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Lovely Filipino food at reasonable prices. the chef is very friendly and service is good. They also do excellent bubble tea and mango cake!

We are so glad we found this place today. We had a two course lunch each and a pot of tea and the bill was only £21 ! The service was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I only wish I lived near by, I would be a regular visitor. Please people, now more than ever we need to stop giving our money to large corporations and support our local businesses. The gentleman here has invested so much of his time, heart and money in to this lovely place, it would be a crying shame for it to disappear due to the lockdowns. If you live in or near Yeovil please give The Ox a try, you won't be disappointed and the main meal (which was cooked to perfection) cost less than a Burger King meal. I whole heartedly recommend it.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I fell in love with the food. A great range of authentic Filipino dishes at a very good price. The food was delicious and we ordered several different dishes for the table. Very welcoming and accommodating. Everything is cooked fresh to order so there can be a bit of wait but no one who enjoys food this fresh and cooked to this standard will mind! Well worth a visit.

Excellent food, great host. Very enjoyable experience. The hock was great, too much for one person, lots of other things to try, but no room left. Will have to return.
