Really tasty food, can tell it’s all freshly made. The chicken tikka masala was full of flavour and the chicken was not dry at all! Nice and hot and 10/10 for flavour.

Ordered takeaway this evening, arrived early - always a bonus. Ordered Chicken Ceylon, chicken Korma, onion bhaji’s and peshwari naan, it arrived with extra dips and salad. Can hands down say that this was the best curry that we have had for a long time. A new favourite, thank you 🥰

The best curry we have eaten for a while! Always avoided due to cost but not much in it these days with the other restaurants. Definitely a new favourite of ours 😋

My food was so salty it was unable

Terrible service. 90 minutes late and offered a rather insulting gesture of £3 in respect of the delay. Tried ringing and ringing whilst waiting and they never answered the phone. Unacceptable. Food was stone cold when it finally arrived

order was due to be delivered between 18:45 and 19:05, it didn’t arrive then, delivery time was changed to 19:40… It didn’t arrive then. The food eventually got to us at 20:25. I tried calling the restaurant using the number provided on just eat, number doesn’t work, I found a different number online, they didn’t not answer, I rang nearly 10 times constantly calling, no answer. I then called from my partners phone and they answered straight away… joke of an order, waste of time.

I order from here regularly and it’s one of my favourite take aways unfortunately it came almost stone cold tonight.

Ordered on Deliveroo! order arrived 95% of the food wasn't even warm!! I had to reheat it! I called them and basically they asked what did I want them to do!!! I asked was it OK to order 28 quids worth of food for it to be cold.. the reply yes! hmm Won't bloody go there again! Not exactly great customer service!!!

Chicken madras, pilau rice, sag paneer, peshwari naan, absolutely delicious. Ordered directly with the Akash at 6, for a delivery at 8. It arrived at 7.55 with extra poppadoms! All the food was perfect, and I can honestly say it was the best curry I have ever had. This is the first review I have written, but the food and delivery were 10/10 and felt it was only fair to share my experience.

My son ordered me and him a meal he spent 40pounds the food was cold and the sauce was horrible and the meat was poorly cooked I was physically sick

Ordered takeaway, the quality of the food was terrible, the meat tasted strange. The sauce was very thick, like wallpaper paste. My mother was sick, and I will never order from here again. I called the restaurant to get a refund, and the lady barely understood English, so it was an uphill struggle to explain the situation. Everything was thrown in the bin. PLEASE REFUND MY ORDER.

best indian i have had in a long time

AVOID Me and my partner have called 4 times on 3 different days to ask about their menu, and what tastecard covers (as they are advertised as a tastecard restaurant and it specifies with all tastecard restaurants you have to call at least two hours in advance anyway) they’ve hung up on us for asking a simple question about their menu, told us to call the next day which we did and were hung up on again and we’re just overall ridiculously rude. Avoid this place, haven’t heard great things about the food but we just wanted an Indian, guess we can’t have one apparently

First time ordering with Akash and I can say it was absolutely beautiful and full of flavour !!!

We had to wait over 2hr 30 minutes before our food arrived. When we called the restaurant after an hour, we got told that they are very busy but the food will be with us in 5-10min. For the next hour and a half, we rang them several times and still kept telling us that it will be with us in 10min. They didn’t even ask for our order details so we knew this wasn’t true. We contacted deliveroo agents to cancel/refund, but they couldn’t do anything as the restaurant kept telling them that the food will be with us in 10min and refused to refund us. If you know you don’t have the capacity to deliver the food, maybe don’t be open on the app? Please avoid if you don’t want to wait over 2 hours for delivery.Very disappointing.

Pre ordered so not late, but nearly 30 mi s late. No onion Bhaji with Tandoori mixed grill as advertised. Excellent Chicken Tikka Madras.

Great food as always. Initially we had a problem with the food being delivered 2 hrs late (apparently a one-off issue) however the restaurant made suitable amends and the latest order arrived slightly early and as delicious as ever. Thank you and we’ll be back soon!

Items missing. The food took nearly 2 hours to get to us. No contact made to say it would be late and when we rang we were told only one driver available.

Order was placed at 18:53. Was notified that the order would be delivered between 19:30 and 20:00. I finally got the order at 20:40, with a text to say the driver was stuck in heavy traffic. One of my children ended up just going to bed and therefore missed out on a meal. Have since had a follow up, after requesting a partial refund that they restaurant won't be issuing. Therefore, as nice as the food was, I won't be ordering from them again.

Keema Nan was over done. Chicken was chewy, mango was vinegary. Usually we love the food from you, but tonight was absolutely not worth the money. The order was already delayed 30 minutes, and then another 20 late from the new time.

Awful!!!!!! 2hrs later and takeaway still not delivered!! Wouldn’t want it now after kicking around that long in a delivery van! Rang severs times to be told on its way. Terrible service and we are now waiting to see if our refund which we have now requested is honoured!!! Blamed “traffic” on a Sunday evening! And a driver that didn’t show up - don’t take the orders and money if can’t fulfill them?!

We ended up waiting 2 hours, we had to ring and were told they were short of drivers, would be nice to be informed, when food arrived is was Luke warm and the poppadoms were soft and yuck, we are regular customers and spent £50-£70 nearly weekly with Akash, no apology or discount offered, we tipped the driver as usual , sadly this will be the last time we use Akash as last week we only got half of our food

Ordered and the food was very small £60 for very little to feed 4 people it fed 2.5 not a lot of chicken in sauce small rice portions and no extras £60 …: we normally use mukta won’t be reordering Akashi again … mukta in comparison no comparison extremely disappointing and extremely poor

Collected order which wasn’t ready when specified, food actually made and prepared at the Viceroy (across road) due to Akash kitchen being closed. Essentially this wasn’t an Akash Indian, chicken was tough and chewy, very dissatisfied and tasted very average. Have been a loyal Akash customer for about 35 years and this was a very low point, not acceptable,

I ordered a lamb biriyani as well as a chicken dansak, both portions were completely not edible, I couldn’t chew the lamb and as for the chicken dansak it was clearly just chucked through the microwave, the chicken was so though chewy and dry I couldn’t even swallow the meat. I chucked the lot in the bin, even the garlic Nan was revolting.

Not sure what happened, but decided to order something not tried before so ordered a chicken Korai, described as medium and spicy. Was absolutely disgusting, no heat, no spice, no taste, almost as if all the main ingredients other than the tomato and onion hadn’t been added, disappointing to say the least.

Order didn’t have everything i ordered. Was due to arrive at 8pm and didn’t turn up until after 9pm and cold. When I asked why it was late they blamed the bad weather…..there wasn’t any bad weather. But they wouldn’t answer the phone so got that via text through just eat. I’m still not sure how bad weather stops the order being correct. Will be seeking a refund. Very poor

Had heard some good things about this takeaway,ordered from them last week for the first time,and my meal was 1 hour late and was nearly cold.thought I would try them again hoping it was a one of.meal was again late (45 minutes) ,no dip for onion bhajis,which were nearly cold,and curry and rice were just luke warm.I won’t b ordering from them again.

Ordered from the Akash, Lamb Sag and Chicken Mackon with sides. My wife and I were very impressed. Mackon rich and creamy, Sag fresh and succulent. Very pleased and would always recommend again. Came within the time given also which was welcome

Had a number of takeaways and visits to the restaurant over a number of years, and Akash have never let us down! Jalfrezi, tikka masala and also custom hot tikka masala are amazing. Have tried other restaurants ... never again!

First time we have used Akash, not disappointed and will definitely be using them again. Ordered online, very simple and the food arrived on time. Excellent food, good value for money, definitely our new favourite Indian in Yeovil.

We had a selection butter chicken and korma really good and tasty with mushroom rice could be a bit hotter in temperature of food but really good well done keep it up.

Haven’t had an Indian like this in a while. Absolutely stunning taste. Definitely my favourite Indian in Yeovil by far.

The Akash is the the best curry house in Yeovil. I am currently enjoying a Vegetable Phall with coconut rice and peshwari naan.. absolutely delicious, very well cooked and the spice is just right. Thanks guys

We have eaten in the restaurant regularly and have always been happy with the food, so we ordered a takeaway for a family celebration. Unfortunately the chicken korma and chicken tikka masala dishes were ridiculously sweet, the other food was fine but not as good as usual.

Really lovely food last night for take away. Friendly staff who said how long it would be (25m) and 25m later it was ready. All food tasted fresh and looked great, lovely chicken and lamb and naan bread and and and. Thumbs up all round. Thank You.

Ordered from the Akash again, but have never put on a review. Should have. I had the Golda Chingri Morrisa and my wife the Chicken Badami Passanda. The food came in good time. It was-hot and beautifully cooked. Onion bhajees and poppadoms came as complimentary which was very welcome. Garlic Naan was fantastic. I can’t recommend enough the Akash for great value, great tasing and fresh food. Best Indian takeaway in Yeovil by far.

Fantastic food! Service was lovely as well, menu was quite hard to understand for example what comes with certain dishes as standard as some has rice and others did not but it did not explain it clearly enough, maybe me being thick I am not sure.

Just got a takeaway from here as we have been going to a different one in town and thought we'd go back for a change. Literally it was disgusting. Food all cold, overcooked onion bahjis, water all over our plates from the curry, the naan bread was disgusting. The only good thing was the chips. £27 quid wasted and very disappointed! Akash used to be a lovely indian with really nice food. I think the owners/chef must have changed. Definitely wont be returning.

Out for a Friday night curry with the BF. Hadn’t been here for years but Neighbour recommended it. They have Thatchers on tap which is nice to see. Food was amazing. Huge portions, very tasty. I had the chicken Marissa which was lovely. Proper huge lumps of chicken (not the awful processed chicken either). We couldn’t finish our meals so we took them home and had enough for tea the next evening. I can see why people moan about the service. Not as friendly as other Restaurants but not obtrusive either. Give it a go. x

This is the real gem of takeaway ally. Great food lovely staff nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Best Indian restaurant in Yeovil

Ate there early on a Saturday evening where staff appeared entirely pre occupied with dealing with takeaway orders. Waited over an hour and a quarter to finally receive our meal. Had to interrupt staff to ask for more drinks and to order meal after poppadums. Toilets and stairs to them not clean. Food was tasty when we finally got it and was offered a free round of drinks but staff then didn't return to take order! Just order a takeaway would be my advice.

Haven’t eaten here for a few years. Won’t be rushing back. There wasn’t much wrong with the food, but the dining experience was considerably lacking. The restaurant is a bit shoddy and in need of a refurb and redecoration, especially the toilets, which were also in need of a good clean. Table was laid without a cloth with flimsy paper napkins. We had the same cutlery throughout. Food arrived without plates being cleared. All the starter plates were chipped. One order was wrong, and although it was replaced fairly quickly, there wasn’t much in the way of an apology. More a tut. The tonic was flat. The wine wasn’t chilled. Glasses smelled like they had been wiped with dirty cloths. Plates weren’t warmed. Food could have been hotter. The tables weren’t cleaned. We weren’t offered desserts! No hot towels. We were told they shut at half ten and at half ten the lights went out! If you are after an authentic Indian dining experience with excellent service, you need to go elsewhere. As stated previously, the food was nice enough. Would recommend as a takeaway which is possibly what they are concentrating on anyway.

Stopped off in Akash Sunday evening for a curry, which turned out to be a banquet night - starter, main, side dish, rice or nan for about £11.95. First of all to comment on a recent review, yes, the front of house staff was a white English middle aged female, but she was polite and courteous and friendly, having a white English person working in an Indian restaurant is no more radical than the fact my local fish and chip shop is run by Chinese. The food was lovely, I had a mixed starter, followed by a prawn vindaloo, pilau rice and onion Bhaji as a side and it was very tasty. As is normal with any banquet or buffet night, the price of drinks means it’s going to cost more than £11.95 per person and worked out at £22 a head which isn’t bad and the food was great.

I think this was my favourite curry to date. The flavours were fantastic and I simply cannot fault it. Highly recommend people to use this place.

On the way home I picked up a take away I had chicken tikka jalfrazi and my wife had chicken korma. The meals as always were to the usual high standards as usual well done akash for keeping your standards to one of the best in Yeovil. I was also told I would have to wait for up to 45 mins and the food was with me in under 25 again well done impressed from start to finish. Please keep it up

My friend and I visited Akash completely by accident when on a quick overnight stay in Yeovil. We both love Indian food and were dubious of trying somewhere where we had no knowledge of the quality of the food. It was one of the best Indians we have ever have; the meat was tender, sauces were rich in flavour and just all round brilliant. The restaurant itself wasn’t particularly fancy but this made no difference at all. Staff were friendly and couldn’t help enough. Really surprised to read the reviews on here being so negative as we would return again without hesitation.
