The Overlee in East Renfrewshire

Had a 30th birthday party in the function room for my sister. Unreal service. Craig was very attentive and extremely helpful. Couldn’t recommend more. Thanks again for all the help.

Kids menu was mostly not available No sausages and out of the 5 Sweets 3 not available, including Ice cream! Some main menu not available, probably easier to tell what is available! Very disappointing

Was in for food and a drink at the weekend there, can’t fault the service of the food or the service… Staff were overly pleasant and the atmosphere in the pub was very good! No complaints whatsoever.

I had arranged a function for my mum and dad's 60th wedding anniversary and it was a brilliant night. The staff were really helpful and welcoming.The buffet provided was fresh, plentiful and very tasty. The Overlee had a good vibe and a great atmosphere. I would like to give a particular mention for the assistant manager Craig as he went above and beyond to make sure our night was a success from my first phone call. I would highly recommend The Overlee for a function or for a few drinks and a bite to eat with friends. Thank you again to the Team for making our family celebration a success.

We booked the side room for a function on Saturday. During the organising process the staff were so helpful and accommodating. On the day the room was perfect, the food was amazing and the staff made it such a great day for everyone. Would recommend this room for anyone looking to celebrate an event.

Food is fab and family friendly atmosphere

Lovely pub with food. Separate area for watching sport with tables. The other side is more like a restaurant and is quieter.

Lovely pub/restaurant. Very friendly staff.

Popped in today for a bite. A big "pubby" and food was okay. Hunters chicken was heated in a microwave and went hard. Starters were good as was the burger. Staff attentive and nice enough but food was mediocre! I shant return.

Brilliant place for lunch and dinner. Really good menu definitely caters for fussy eaters. Family friendly. Cheap eats good atmosphere and lovely helpful staff. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely LOVE this place. Staff go above and beyond and the atmosphere is amazing. Decor is beautiful and welcoming. The food is second to non and just make my tastebuds melt. Will 100% recommend to friends, family and colleagues.

Went in at the weekend with my kids for a quick bite to eat. Ordered from the festive menu, staff were very attentive and really great with the kids. The restaurant was very clean and festive eith its decor. The food came out promptly and was great value for money especially the portion sizes. The food tasted great and the atmosphere was very lively. We were checked on regularly throughout our meal and will definitely be back again for a meal.

Great pub to watch football. Only complaint, it was very cold

First visit as it was convenient for who we were meeting, at Sunday lunchtime a few of the menu choices were unavailable. Staff a bit too chatty, as in we were there to catch up with friends but our waitress spent more time chatting about herself. Nice enough, but not why we went. Quite mediocre food and in some cases tasteless. Wouldn't rush back or recommend.

Frequently visit the overlee for food and drinks service is always fantastic, food is tasty and the staff are lovely definitely will be back!!

We hosted my dad’s 75th birthday at The Overlee and it was a great night! The venue was lovely, function suite was an ideal size for the number of people we had and the staff were really attentive. Would 100% recommend.

The customer service and staff were first class. Was out for my friends birthday dinner, and the food was excellent. Special mention to craig as he lovely. will be back again !!!

The Overlee is handy for large groups to meet in because of the large space, lots of options for large tables etc. But the natural light doesn't come throughout the bar so it can feel a bit dark, the atmosphere is lacking and it can have a whiff of not great fried food,

The BEST pub in Clarkston hands down and great value for money. We were only visiting the area and opted to eat there two days in a row after an amazing experience. Great ambience too and staff were very attentive.

Went for food, after unsuccessfully trying 3 other places. I must admit going up the stairs it felt like a uni pub. However, once inside upstairs it is welcoming, atmospheric and unpretentious. Lots of different area, sports bit, comfy seats, booths, tables and a function room. 2 ladies on duty were super friendly and genuine, excellent customer service. Would say food portions a bit small, definitely on the chip front. The baked potato side was lovely and fluffy. Definitely would go back.

Was in there 9/4/23, the young barstaff were hopeless when pulling a pint, to busy chewing gum to pay attention to customers imo. Food was mediocre, the quiz was good but took an eternity to complete. Most staff were friendly and polite. Would I return 🤔

Salad with halloumi was far to big, such a waste of food. Toilets were not clean, each cubicle needed attention. Only 2 staff on shift so service was slow.

Great lunch at The Overlee yesterday. Food came quickly and was absolutely lovely! Staff and service were fantastic, will definitely be popping in more often.

Great selection of lagers if that is what you like. I am not so Belhaven Best as it is a Belhaven/Green King pub. Does have one other beer and Guinness. Well staffed and a pretty big pub where you can escape the TV if you wish. Sells food but did not sample. My first visit and happy to try again.

Lovely visit to the Overlee! Food was delicious and excellent portion sizes. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost of our bill - definitely value for money! Staff very helpful & knowledgeable. For it being such a large pub, the place was warm cosy & comfortable to sit and enjoy our evening. They have a small function area to which looks ideal for small get togethers. Well be back again soon for another visit.

I attended kids arts and crafts for Halloween with my grandson, warm welcome, very well organised and my grandson loved it. Leighanne was great with the kids. 👏❤️

Was in on Friday 28/10/22 for a meal late on. First two choices I asked for were " off menu" I was told by young female. My 3rd choice was Rump steak, Very small portion of meat and chips. Very disappointed as my previous experience of portion size has been positive. Attitude of staff was were not caring about my custom in the least- coffee cold!

Fantastic pub ,great staff ,fantastic fish ,spotless toilets ,well worth a visit

First up, the staff in here are fantastic.They seem to enjoy their jobs and I would take from this the managers are also good at their jobs. Friendly and efficient and a credit to the establishment. The food was impressive too. Had the fish and chips and wings to start. The wings where perfect, next time I am taking in my hot sauces and trying a hot ones challenge. The atmosphere was perfect too. For the rare occasions a few of us meet up to drink, we have in the past gone to Parklands as its on our doorstep. This place is totally worth the 3 mile walk there and 3 mile wobbly walk back. No sound from the TVs or music playing. The loudest noise being the fruit machine which we discovered was on the other side of the partition where we sat.(Table 31). Nice choice of beers on tap, ice breaker being my choice for the duration. Finally, the toilets are pristine. Well maintained and looked after.

Mostly the staff can't do enough for you. The food is excellent and portion sizes not huge but rather just the right size. Staff very knowledgeable on menu items.

First time in Overlee for a few years.. and all I can say is it was Fab!. From sorting out a table for 10 with no issues to the very friendly staff..really made us feel extremely welcome.. great sense of humour and fun. Only disappointment was the girl serving us at bar threatened to squoosh coke over my husband for being cheeky but didn't follow through 😀 now that would have really made my night 🤣 thanks Guys for great night!

A great pub if you want to watch football. Prices are what you would expect. Perhaps it's just a midweek thing but very few in tonight, a shame really because the staff are great.

Horribly rude staff, horrible service, horrible experience, management should improve on who they hire. I’m fact i would very much like to speak to a manager about the service.

Bleach blonde waiter had horrific manners to my female companion, and attempted to parade authority upon us, luckily it didn’t work. Would avoid at all costs. Also monteiths straight across is much nicer

Didn't like the attitude of the staff. Couldn't get mains after serving starters said the kitchen was now shut. Terrible service won't be back.

Lovely food especially their gammon steak that I had but everyone impressed with freshly made dishes, lovely attentive staff too but please smile... They would have got a 5* for that some!! Huge floor space with lots of nooks 'n crannies.

Food is standard pub grub, it is the staff that let the place down, the most inattentive i have ever witnessed. More interested in chatting at the bar than anything else. It felt like we where an inconvenience having arrived for a meal.

Stopped in for a meal with my other half at the weekend. The small plates were to die for and the service was impeccable! Would definitely recommend.

Sports bar with dinning area good selection of drink and food, comfortable. If it is a big match on, book a table.

We Got the lunch special, both went for steak sandwich, some salad, portion of chips and a soft drink, was really nice and filling, staff were welcoming and friendly.

Waiting times is horrendous. Sent pudding back it was suppose to be apple crumble it was stone cold inside, ordered another one wasn't much better. The quality of food has really gone down hill

Decent wee place for pub grub, staff were really friendly but with all covid conditions i still miss the the old table service that i loved when going for any meal. Having drink brought over and recommendations to liven a group at a table esp when its someones birthday. No parking on site but has great car park across the road, can't really beat £1 for 4 hours if yoo take ur vehicle.

Good time this visit, not as noisey as on previous visit, plenty of staff serving customers this time.

Just had Mac n cheese at the overlee, honestly this was dreadful. No taste at all. Dried up. Kraft cheesy pasta in a box tastes 100% better. Really bad.

Good covid protocols in place,friendly staff,good food, and good prices also.

Tonight's visit reminded me why we don't go there anymore. Staff to busy having a chat to worry about us. While it is table service only, surely keeping an eye on guests should be a priority? It was very quiet so no reason the not to. Even our drink first drink took 10 minutes while the staff had a chat.

Meal was quite good just got the wrong side of chips with meal had ordered the rosemary salted fries with skin just got plain chips .

Found ourselves with a sleeping baby and feeling peckish after our walk, we decided to pop in to the Overlee for some lunch. I thought the Overlee was past its prime so didn’t go in with high expectations. I was wrong! The place looked very clean and refreshed. A few people were already in, bit of music in the background and golf on the tv so there was some atmosphere. A very pleasant member of Staff took our food and drinks order at the bar. We decided to opt for the 5 small plates between 2 ( I think it was 5 for £15 ) . The food took a little time to come out but portions were great and food was beautifully presented and very tasty. We really enjoyed having a bit of everything ! Despite being totally full, we managed to squeeze in a coffee and shared a slice of carrot cake . I would definitely recommend a visit for drinks and/or food .
