Little out the way traditional venue with friendly staff serves good condition beers that regularly change and no TV (hooray), an outside area,, sometimes they have live music which is well attended and is one of the few pubs in Peterborough City Centre that is Dog friendly, a large choice of ales, lagers, ciders & a great selection of gins.

Crackin trad pub with great live music!

The people were lovely and the music was amazing. However there was a weird moment with the landlord informing us about how 2 people wanting to slap me and my 2 friends. I have no idea why as we all were respectful, and kind to anyone who spoke to us. He mentioned about us walking around alot ( if i remember correctly ) which in my mind didnt make sense. I had only gone to buy drinks maybe 3x or 4x, one moment where me and my friend walked to the in the entrance and back looking for our other friend and obviously going toilet breaks, again i could be missing out information that i dont remember. He spoke about how the community is older and anyone under 30 is considered a kid, which made me think he was implying that my age was a problem. As a young adult i thought this bar would be a little more welcoming giving the fact they appeal to younger adults. The landlord didnt seem fussed or worried about the fact that 2 people were basically threatening customers, just said this bar has a older community and that someone wanted to slap us. Other than that the people i spoke to were lovely and the rock live music was to die for

I haven't eaten here but I frquently visit on a Friday. This is a proper pub with a great choice of real ale ,decent live music and good staff with great customer service. Just how a traditional pub should be 👍

Only had a couple of pints while passing through, but this was as near as damn it the perfect pub.

Oddly, I did not meet an Ostrich. But the food was a club banger. Tell ‘em Turner sent ya.

Always a pleasure to have a couple in there before moving on to other things in town, use it or lose it should be the motto, these are fast becoming very rare venue's

Pop in on Saturday not the warmest of welcomes, guy behind yo bar too busy chatting to his mates. Asked what a beer was like only to be told it’s pale which I could see via the font. Very helpful! This was third and last time I’ll bother going here.

There aren't many food options, some bar snacks, but a good choice of beer and drinks. More importantly the members of staff are lovely. Always happy to come here and hangout with friends and listen to the amazing live bands. Get these people more love and visit here please!

It's a go to slightly off the circuit pub for me, always decent beer choice, swift service despite being packed and tonight a hell of a band

Discusting experince tonight. I struggled to get out of my outfit in the toilet as it was broke, to which my friend come to my aid to, when we come the toilets we was corfronted by a man called graham -(literally standing outside the ladies toilets like a creap) that was very aggressive standing telling us to leave and get out! I had done nothing wrong so I didn't understand why this man (apparently the landlord) was being so angry towards us, it was a really scary experience and I'd never touch this pub again, I have also nealy been spiked in this pub previously about 2 months ago, watching my mate play in a band called the deps, it was from a shot that my partner took that was meant for me, so now I question this place as a decent place like I thought it was.

Great beer, ambience and best live music in town. There's no food here, it's a proper pub.

Excellent back street boozer, serving up a great selection of cask ales and live bands. Also handy for the station and city centre.

A very busy public house, especially when it has music nights.

Small hidden gem in the back streets of Peterborough. Small bar but has a large aray of gins and ales, love the stout! Atmosphere great and heated outsude seating. Visited in the afternoon but have been there in a evening when the live music is play, the place rocks.

Cracking little pub serving good beer and a decent range of cider. Looks like a good music venue of an evening but we were there for an afternoon cider. Looks like it has a good beer 'garden' on sunnier and warmer days

What a night!! Graham and the staff were excellent and took great care of my band, Lounge Lizards. We're really looking forward to coming back for another gig!! Lots of beer amd cider options and the drinks aren't expensive. 10/10 recommend!!!

If you like a grungy live music pub with real ale, it's the best in town, with staff who are, without exception, excellent. I've never eaten there but I'll chuck in four stars for food on faith. When Tacos & Flipflops have got a pop-up, it gets 5. Great beer/smoking garden

Often call in here when in Peterborough- excellent real ale selection, 5 or so frequently changing. Several seating areas inside, pool table, pretty outdoor area with tables and benches. Live music regularly. Bar food.

Really cool pub, very good atmosphere nice beer garden great selection of beers, ales And ciders. I highly recommend the red berry cider very refreshing..staff where very good And seem very content in their work.

The atmosphere is marvelous at the Ostrich. It's quint and reminds you of the underground music scenes. When there's a club playing the atmosphere is at its peak. The staff are friendly and most importantly, they're extremely competent at their duties. Drinks are served well, without bias. I aim to visit often.

Really nice little pub. Friendly bar staff and a very good selection of beers. Also has a small beer garden to the rear but unfortunately was raining pretty bad when I visited so didn't get to enjoy it. Would def recommend and will go back when in the area.

Argyle on tour!! We got stuffed so I am searching out real ale pubs to drown my sorrows.....and the Ostrich was on the list. And its really good....vibrant....and quite quirky with little nooks and crannies.....including an outdoor area which looked great but I wasn't sure if it was outside!! I met some fellow Argyle fans and we spent a few hours drinking talking and playing pool. Good real ales....ever had a vegan one......oops and ugh. Super atmosphere everyone enjoying themselves and bar staff great...

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet, it's simply the most delicious beer, the friendliest bar staff and the best landlord and lady in the country. Music isn't half bad either!

Can't believe I've not visited this pub on previous visits to Peterborough. Five real ales ( craft beers, ciders and gins too) , friendly service , live music . Mixed clientele. Great ambience.

Favourite pub in Peterborough. It's a really inclusive space and you always feel super welcome. Local ales on tap with many labelled vegan-friendly. Go with friends, go alone - cannot recommend The Ostrich enough.
