Came here with wife to eat lunch, so happy with the big portion and the tasty food. We ordered full tandoori chicken with rice, and also one bottle of water for £15. It was delicious my wife is talking about going back to York just to eat here again. Definitely will go there again.

Awful, I don't know what the 'lamb' was but it didn't taste like any lamb I've ever eaten, the texture was all wrong too. The chicken was palatable. Salad was ok. The bread was really good.

I literally live over the road! I do not feel well so did not want to cook anything! So over the road I went for a halloumi wrap! I'm small so I thought the wrap was massive! For £4.00 I could not believe it, I expected it to be a lot more. The gentleman serving me was lovely, then I was directed to the lady at the till. She too was lovely and I just think that the whole place was fantastic and very good value for money! Very much appreciated to have hot food when I felt unwell and could not be bothered to cook anything! Cannot wait for the next one xxx

Was in the establishment today really looking forward to the 3 shawarmas me and my colleagues were waiting for until we had to ask for refund as he wiped the sweat from his forehead and was still massaging the nan bread and this was after waiting 20 minutes very disgusted

We stayed in the Gillygate area and had such a lovely meal here, especially after the previous evenings horrible visit to the Three Chefs. A nice atmosphere, busy but attentive staff, no loud music! The food was amazing, they make the bread to order in a clay oven and it is so nice and fresh. The chicken and lamb were so juicy and the salad was nice with lots of choice. We also had a lentil soup which was so good! When I am back in York I will call here again even if I stay in another part as it is worth it!

We Googled ‘halal food near me’ and found this fabulous eatery in York. Most food places in York are super pricey. I ordered chicken tikka wrap meal and my hubby mixed shawarma plate meal with two breads. It was £20 and enough for 3 people! All the food was really fresh, crispy salad, lovely soft bubble bread as I call it and delicious meat. They had a huge fan and clean spacious seating. I really appreciated the food and the good service!

Me and my boyfriend often come here for a nice and easy treat now and then. Staff recognise us and are always super friendly, place is really hygienic and never had issues with the food. The price of their meal deals are so good especially with the other prices in york!

A gem of a find! We've had both delivery and take away from Original Shawarma on Goodramgate and both were delicious! Freshly cooked breads, gorgeous salads and tasty chicken. Portion sizes are generous and service is happy and friendly. I would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Day out with family.. Very disappointing, should of gone with my instincts ...when the food arrived, the chips were horrid , dry and undercooked... The kebab meat was like chewing elastic bands, very fatty and disappointed.. On the plus side they did refund our money without any hesitation..

We had an incredible dining experience at this clean Turkish restaurant! As a family of four, we ordered the mixed shawarma meal and chicken shawarma with rice, and every bite was delicious. The flavors were authentic, the portions generous, and the prices very affordable. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We left completely satisfied. After a horrible experience last night at the previous place I reviewed this was the exact opposite. No nonsense, friendly service, lovely food, smelled wonderful whilst waiting! Have the mix shawarma, it has bread made on the premises, an absolute delight! Compared with the place over the road from here are people who take pride in food and are great and could not have been more helpful and kind.

Food and serving were under avarage, even we had to ask for tissue. Meat was too fatty to be eaten. Moreover they took our picture without our consent.

On a quick tour of York after an overnight stay and wanted to grab a bite to eat. This place was perfect! Fabulous flatbreads cooked fresh as we waited, generously filled with tasty chicken and salad and good value. (£5 each) Speedy service too. The only problem was eating it without making too much mess!

Hello, I am the mother of a Spanish linguistic immersion boy who was eating at your restaurant on Thursday, you probably don't remember him but my son and we will always remember you very gratefully. He blocked the credit card trying to enter the PIN and at only 12 years old his reaction was very normal, you were able to see the boy's doubt, anguish and insecurity and told him not to worry that you were inviting him. Recommended this place by an Uber driver and it was what he said and more. Great tasting shawarma but the grilled chicken tikka wrap was my favourite. Also the Garlic Sauce was a dream

What a hidden gem this place staff are really friendly and couldn’t do more to help I ordered a mixed grill and lentil soup was easily enough for two excellent value everything was cooked to perfection would definitely recommend I will be back with friends and family

Visited for lunch today and had the mixed Shawarma Meal deal wrap and it was amazing. The food was tasty and hot and nicely presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. I will definitely be visiting again as this meal deal was excellent value for £8.

The food is both delicious and fresh, with generous portion sizes; however, one item was missing. Nonetheless, I am highly satisfied with the excellent customer service. They graciously offered me complimentary items and promised to include them in my next delivery. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

I got the a chicken shawarma wrap and a cup of tea. First of all prices were great, the wrap costed 5£ and the tea 1£. I liked the bread a lot. However the wrap contained a lot of salad and very scanty chicken. The wrap was cold as well and I supposed this because of either being previously prepared or the lots of cold salads in it. The tea was also flavored which I don’t like and I would prefer if this was clear on the menu before ordering..

One of the best shawarma I've eaten in a while. Not too far from York Minister. Recommend to buy it with combo as it worth the value. Tried chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma and tea/lassi and all we're great 👍. Will definitely treat family and friends next time. Shop is small so a group a 4-5 should be enough.
