The Olive Tree in Liverpool

Fuimos aquí para una comida familiar, 6 de nosotros 4 adultos dos adolescentes, excelente comida, excelente servicio, personal muy atento, paciente cuando nos tomamos el tiempo para decidir, menú tenía una amplia elección, la elección era extremadamente variada, todo el mundo disfrutó de todos los entrantes, principales, postres, y una excelente elección de cafés, (fui por el café irlandés Jamesons) , y todo completado por un Limencello completamente, recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar y sin duda voy a hacer otra visita pronto

Un lugar tan amable y acogedor con un excelente servicio y una comida maravillosa. Teníamos pinchos de pollo, la moussaka y salmón cítrico. Todos disfrutamos mucho de nuestras comidas. La camarera principal es increíble: siempre atenta, profesional y agradable. El lugar está dirigido por personas que realmente se preocupan por la buena comida y el buen servicio. Todo a precios razonables. Lo recomendaría encarecidamente.

Gran comida combinada con un gran servicio. Un interior sencillo, una carta extensa basada en la cocina mediterránea. Una tarde relajada encantadora.

Great place, food tasty, staff very friendly, warm and welcoming .... one complaint though, the lighting is VERY BRIGHT, actually had headache when left. Beautiful lanterns would be noticed with less bright downright.

Foot was OK, service seems fairly decent though a bit sleazy but when it came to the bill it wall went way downhill from there. So he brought the bill over with the card machine. I went to check the bill to make sure it is correct, as everyone does. The owner and/or manager snaps it up and say "Oh no that is mine". So I ask if I can see the bill. He says no its for the till, He does not know that I know it is not a card or banking receipt and an itemized till receipt. I am confused as used the work in hospitality and manage restaurants many years ago and was aware this was an illegal practice. He just tells us the amount and after leaving we start to question the situation. Turns out this whole situation was sketch and we were actually over charged approx £7 for what our meal with drinks was.... AND WE TIPPED! It is only £7 but that is not the point of the numerical loss but the issue of this kind of underhanded practice. Do they do this to every new customer an make a small fortune on the side? Who knows but will not be returning and will be following up reporting this to trading standards.

Unfortunately they use pre microwaved meat for their skewers . It used to be fresh meat cooked in front of you … now “because of time “ precooked microwaved meat is quickly cooked in front of you. The texture and smokiness is both lost. Shame they have done this .

Reservamos una mesa pero estaba tranquila, probablemente más concurrida los fines de semana. Elegí el paté que se servía con focaccia y chutney de cebolla roja y remolacha, delicioso. Mi marido eligió calamares que le gustó. Para el plato principal elegí pato frito en sartén, perfectamente preparado, brócoli de tallo tierno y papas dauphinois, mi esposo eligió bistec. Nuestro camarero fue muy bueno, amable y eficiente.

We visited on a Friday night. There is a nice bar to wait. Service was good and the food was excellent. There were lots of gluten free options. Having the open kitchen onto the restaurant was good. There was one person who shouted way too loud in the kitchen, louder than necessary and that was a tad annoying. Worth a visit.

Visited with friends.. very busy . Our food was not good .. starters dry chicken strips .. garlic pillows waste of a side order. We complained and manager was very apologetic, he appreciated that they were busy but it was no excuse for bad food. Would not return .

We had the sharing platter and steak. Cooked to perfection. Great place for an evening out. Lovely staff. Good selection of beers and spirits. Nice Gin mixers! overall good experience. Recommended

The Olive Tree is a wonderful place to eat. The food is always cooked perfect and the staff cant do enough for you. I do recommend booking as they do get very busy especially at peck times. I will continue to use this restaurant as long as they will have me!

we had a hen night there the food was lovely all of the ladies was impressed. we will be going again

Lugar muito bacana para passar um tempo com amigos tomando uma boa cerveja com bons petiscos num ambiente bem agradável. Os funcionários são bem atenciosos. Eu recomendo o lugar.

Interesting menu and plenty to choose from - all 3 courses were delicious and with all the food and drinks costing only £70 for both of us it was great value for money. I would certainly return.

Great food, good value and friendly staff. Only one bad thing, we had a baby in a pram so had to negotiate steep stairs!

A family member recommend this place us so I took my wife for her birthday as she loves italian food food was really nice love the fact they made me a cocktail even though it wasn't in the menu great from start to finish reasonably priced to boot

Following our visit to the Town Hall, we went again as a group of six to the Olive Tree, and were not disappointed. We all had different tastes and although not deliberately awkward,we must have been something of a nightmare for the lovely girl serving us. However she took our orders with infinite patience and good humour, and the food, which was delicious, came exactly as we had ordered it. Needless to say, we were all highly impressed with the overall experience. My only comment, though not an adverse one, is that I am an absolute lover of heavily garlic flavoured food,in Italian restaurants, and I would have liked much more garlic on both the garlic bread and the main course. That however did not detract from the overall quality of the experience. We will definitely go again, if anything, it exceeded the last visit.

We booked a table for six and the atmosphere and the food was perfect. Our group hadn't seen each other for a number of years so it was important that the servce was seamless so as to maximise our time together and I must say the staff didn't let us down. We had a great time with great service and the food was delicious. The best bit was the bill which was a lot less than other restaurants would have charged. Well done to the staff and management.

Fuimos un grupo de cuatro temprano en la víspera de año nuevo. Tuvimos la suerte de conseguir una mesa en 5,30 ya que el lugar estaba lleno y puedo entender por qué. La comida era excelente y el ambiente estupendo. fue una experiencia muy agradable y sin duda lo recomendaría a cualquiera. Hay un tramo de escaleras para ir a un restaurante y no estoy seguro de si hay otra manera abajo. teléfono primero si esto sería un problema.

Just the best. I went in 25th November with my friend to celebrate her birthday. It was lunch time and not so busy but the attention to service was excellent. They gave my friend a free bubbly for her birthday and the food was just divine . I had a pasta dish and then tiramisu. Just divine. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely go back just on Castle St. top of Lord St.

This is a lovely friendly resturant in liverpool. Food is good value the burgers are fab. Decor is low lighting and its not too noisy if you want to chat. I've returned several times and always had good service.

Good food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices and unlike a lot of restaurants there is enough light to see what is on your plate and enough to allow you to guide the food to your mouth. (This is a Mediterranean restaurant with slippery pasta and sauces galore.) Recommended.

This is my favourite restaurant in south Liverpool. John the owner is a wonderful host and the menu is always excellent, changing regularly as well. I have eaten here in a couple as well as for my 30th where 25 of us had a great night and the food was fantastic for everyone. Definitely worth a visit and great value for money

Have been to the Olive Tree twice over the summer and each time the food has been excellent. and very reasonably priced.
