The Olive Chapel Allerton in Leeds

A fabulous greek restaurant in Chapel Allerton, great for my mum's birthday with the family.The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is relaxed with stunning decor! The staff gave me time to decorate the area and they kept my mum's birthday cake with candles, in the fridge for me.

My family and I dined here last Saturday to celebrate my birthday but unfortunately it was a horrible experience. Firstly, the reservation was for 6.45pm, however at around 4.30pm I had received a call by the owner asking if we were okay to come in for 6.30pm instead as they needed our table back by 8.15pm. I wasn’t pleased as I had made this reservation very early in January, however I had still obliged. Secondly, when we finished our meal by 7.40pm, a waitress had asked us if we wanted coffee or desserts, then proceeded to tell us that they needed our table back by 8pm. My family and I felt very unwelcome, since the time that they needed our table back seemed to become earlier and earlier. I really enjoyed the food here when my partner and I dined here twice previously, but after this experience on my birthday, I am very disappointed at the owner/staff’s poor service and will not be returning.

driver did not bring food at the door, I had to go downstairs and out of my building to pick up my food, which is not ideal for this kind of service.

First time from this place and honestly it was amazing well cooked full of flavour

Lovely venue , friendly greeting, nice atmosphere. Just sorry to say I was so disappointed with the food. The beef stifado was like a beef stew we would make at home,nothing awful just didn't taste very Greek. My lamb meatballs where tasteless and still not certain if I'd been given vegetarian ones . The grilled halloumi was very nice and salad crisp and fresh but the humous and falafel where bland and no nicer than shop bought . Sorry but we won't be visiting again and I do hope it was just a one off for the sake of such a friendly restaurant in a great area of leeds

Ordered at 6 to arrive at 6.50. Not arrived by 8. Phoned the restaurant to cancel. Was told nothing to do with them. Message received in app at 8.55 to say it had been delivered at 9.20 which it obviously hadn’t as this was a future time. Eventually arrived around 925 I told the driver I didn’t want it he said he wasn’t going back to the restaurant. Part of the order was missing. Awful experience.

A first time visit for us, it won’t be the last. What a lovely restaurant. We both had the set menu (plus a few extras). The portion sizes were excellent, great value for money. The food was delicious, everything was so fresh and well cooked. Service was great, two lovely girls that gave recommendations and were totally composed in a busy restaurant. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

The food is incredible, the chef is fantastic, the service is always great and the owner and staff are wonderful. We celebrate most major family events here and it never lets us down.

The cucumber in the Greek salad was rotten and was inedible. The rest of the order was great and delivered on time.

Went here tonight for the first time, I can definitely say it won't be the last! The food was amazing, I had the Beef stifado, everyone on our table really enjoyed their food, and at around £30 PP it was quite reasonably priced too! Service was excellent and atmosphere was very relaxed, I felt really comfortable here

Amazing food, very generous portions. Service was fast and capable. Very polite & friendly, laughed and joked with our party. My only complaint is its a little cramped & warm.

I ordered the Greek salad and the beef stifado. Both were utterly delicious. Will definitely order from here again.

Very enjoyable Greek style food, alcoholic, soft drinks and hot beverages at average prices. Atmosphere could be more Greek though so restaurant could improve on that score. A video of views of Italy was playing on a large screen T.V. why not views and music of Greece?

Ordered same meal yesterday and clearly had a different chef... potato was hard and over salted. It wasn't as good as yesterday and rice/chips were cold.. Prefer the salmon chargrilled so will try again tomorrow but might collect instead! 😔

Amazing food, good quality & very tasty. It was my 1st time here & I'll definitely be back. The manager was very attentive & had excellent customer service skills! I would recommend the lamb chops & the Woowoo cocktail!

Great value for money mid week.

I haven't actually eaten in the restaurant since it changed from The Olive Tree to The Olive, but I've had many takeaway orders from here. Almost every time it is spot on, delicious. I frequently order the chicken souvlaki. The sauté potatoes are amazing. I really enjoy the houmous dip and aubergine dip. The Greek salad is nice but last time we ordered the feta was missing. It's expensive but worth it, in my opinion. One time they did majorly mess up our order and we got the wrong delivery. I think it was the owner, who personally drove and dropped off our order and a bottle of wine to apologise, which was very considerate.

The food I received tasted good (although the salad is very onion-heavy) - but unfortunately some of my order was missing (the first time this has happened using Just Eat) - shame.

Excellent food I would recommend

Really enjoyed dinner here on Thursday. We chose election of dips as starter - very fresh and tasty. Lamb koftas with rice was excellent. Spinach and feta pie was good though pastry was a bit tough and overdone otherwise would be 5 stars for food. The side of Greek salad was really generous and delicious. Rosé wine was good too. Lovely service and atmosphere.

First time we've had a meal from The Olive and we would probably use again. The food was very nice but the side salad consisted of too much onion. We love onion but for the price would have liked and expected more salad ingredients. Wouldn't order the salad again.

If you like Greek or Turkish food or Chapelallerton in Leeds, this is the place you want to go. Food is a delicious and considerable amount to fill your eyes first. After you finish your meal, there are nice bups to hang out . It's a vibrant place.

We had a lovely evening at the Olive, the food and service was excellent. My husband and I went out with our son and girlfriend and it was a perfect family night out. We were not rushed but didn't have to wait long between courses.

We found this gem of a restaurant by chance. We were a big group of 11 but that didn’t faze the owner at all. The food was lovely, the staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was perfect. Very reasonably priced menu and catered for my gluten allergy. We will definitely be back.

Came here for dinner, the service was amazing and the food was really yummy! we went for the set menu starter and main, my partner had the chicken souvlaki which came in a really good portion size. i had the salmon in cream sauce which was cooked and seasoned really well, the sautéed potatoes were gorg. overall really lovely experience, hidden treasure of a restaurant in chapel allerton :) x

Superb meat mezze which we couldn't finish as the portions were very generous. Great friendly service too.

The standard of food was excellent. Fresh ingredients and tasty dishes. Very good portions and reasonable price. If something could be improve is the selection of wine which was a bit limited. Definitely will be back for more lamb! Highly recommended.

lovely cafe in chapel allerton. the hummus, tzatziki and aubergine dip are superb. plenty of vegetarian options and regular offers on. portions are really generous for the price too. would particularly recommend the spinach fila tart, the dips with pitta. the falafel we weren't a huge fan of but it wasn't bad by any standards and the quality of everything else we ordered made up for it.

Came here for my mum's 60th recently and the food was superb. We had the meat meze and there was plenty for two good eaters to share!! We will be coming back. The food was very well presented, fresh and really tasty. Thanks for a great evening.

Out celebrating with my sister and partners for our birthday, as soon as we walked in we was greeted with a friendly smile the food was lovely and service was excellent but what really topped our night off was getting a lift home by the owner as we couldn't get a taxi that's what I call outstanding customer service will definitely be back again 😀

We went last week and we enjoyed our food a lot - Our kids also loved the food! They are very generous with portion sizes and the food is fantastic. The owner is very friendly and the waitress are very nice. We had an amazing experience so we went back yesterday and once again the food was amazing. The entire restaurants atmosphere is wonderful and we highly recommended this place.

First visit and very impressed at the quality of the food, the owner is an ex chef from the Olive Tree so his attention to detail and quality shows. We will be back.

I can't recommend this place any higher. First time visit on Valentines Day and will visit again soon. All the staff were friendly and always available. The menu is great with lots of choice and all the food we had was top class and great value for money. Really worth a visit.
