Lovely welcome upon arrival by Gracey before and after meal, food so tasty and the cheesecake absolutely divine, thanks to Mikey the chef, not rushed between courses would highly recommend

Had my wife's 75th birthday celebration here. We were a party of ten. The food was good, everyone was happy with their selection, Service was very good and all staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. The prices for drinks and food were reasonable . The venue is very clean and has a nice ambience. We were very happy with our evening here.

We came to the Old White Horse for our grandsons birthday. The food was good and plentiful. The service was outstanding, very friendly and efficient. We were so full we couldn't manage our cake! Thank you.

Came in yesterday for a bite to eat with my mrs, the place was busy and our bartender gracey was efficient and smiley. On top of that, the food was delicious

We came in today at 1.30 to have a meal to celebrate my partner’s birthday but unfortunately left quite unsatisfied. I had the gammon which was passable at best but my partner had the sea bass which came cold as were the potatoes. The staff were not too helpful either so we left and won’t be going back again any time soon.

Food was great, service was lovely. Staff were very welcoming and very helpful

Very enjoyable Friday evening . Staff so accommodating steak melts in your mouth ..ulitamate burger is a challenge for the biggest appetite..can't wait to come back .. the staff make it thank you for everything Justine and Jeannie such a fun night

Bad experience every time after a disaster of a Christmas meal, thought we would try it today 18th July, for just a kids fish finger meal that's all nothing else took 40 minutes to arrive, only after asking where it was. What made it a whole lot worse a family next to our table ordered there food 20 minutes after our kids meal and got all 3 meals before ours, I littery couldn't believe it. Shocking never ever again after this, 2 times on the trot so disappointed

Great food, great service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, what more can you ask for. Price was decent too. Lady even offered to delay our payment so we could use a discount voucher as we were 5 mins early.

The food was amazing, and the service was excellent, not a long wait for the food either and the prices were very reasonable, we used staff discount which made the bill cheaper but the prices regardless was great value for money. Will definitely be returning again.

Me and my family have been to the white horse quite a few times and the food has always been great the staff are very friendly and polite but the last couple of times we’ve been we have had to wait over an hour for our food the last time we went in we said we wouldn’t go back again but we tried it again for my husband birthday and this time it was even worse we waited nearly an hour and a half for our meal, they did apologise but we also heard other people morning how long it was taking, there was one lady bringing out the meals and the poor thing was run ragged, they seriously need to get extra staff on as then it would be a fantastic place to go, unfortunately won’t be eating there again

Sadly no fresh salads available with lunchtime meals today as no delivery. However all 5 alternate meals we ordered were excellent. Special thanks to Jeanie who was very friendly and informative re: menu choices serving us and reminding us to register our parking. Mini puddings and coffees were delicious.

Friendly staff and a good place for a drink

There were 4 adults and 1 child in our party, all the adults dinners were great but the child's food was terrible 😔 it was pizza which she could not eat the rice was fine and the salad was all dried up lettuce only no tomatoes or cucumber as advised.

My first visit here as an Ember Inn. The decor of this place is nice, it looks nice and clean. However I opened the menu, which was stained and sticky. I had a steak, which was extremely chewy. The waitress did come around asking if everything was alright. But this was before I cut into my steak. My partner had half roast chicken, which she enjoyed. Total cost was around £38. Cant see myself coming back here again.

Visited The Old White Horse for breakfast this morning with my Meet Up gang. Great food, amazing staff, lovely atmosphere….. can’t wait til the next time! Highly recommend.

We got served by Caroline on Sunday, she was amazing! Very kind and made sure we had everything we wanted, perfectly.

The majority of recent reviews are positive which makes my experience all the more disappointing. We waited 45 minutes for food; two mains and a children's meal. The pub wasn't particularly busy, at least for a Saturday afternoon, yet we had to wait all that time. My gammon was warm but the chips were cold. The peas hadn't been cooked long enough so they were hard. My sister claims her meal was at least hot. There was only one staff member on the bar so we had to wait a while for drinks also. The staff are pleasant - my two stars relate only to the waiting times. I can't be sure but my best guess is that there is only one chef thus my meal was cooked and waited whilst the other one was finalised and then put on the plate. Simply put, this place lacks staff. We have made a few visits over the last two years but won't be back. Each experience was similar to the one mentioned above Remember, there are several great pubs in the area.

Tim had super customer service, friendly and was getting us updated with our food order! He went out his way with my 10 month old getting her a small bowl of ice cream. 💕

Food is normally good here, but would not recommend the lasagne, although the taste was good, the texture was very sloppy. The service and atmosphere is good. In the colder months, there are 2 fires, which makes the main dining area cosy and welcoming. Don't forget to enter your car registration on the monitor in the bar area, when you arrive. There's plenty of car parking spaces.

The main meals we had were amazing and so was the desserts. Staff are really nice and friendly.

The food was good quality even though we had to speak to a member of staff about a burnt pie, but that got replaced quickly enough. What let the visit down was the 1 hour wait for food, there was only 1 member of staff working the bar and 1 member of staff serving the food out from the kitchen and it was a busy afternoon with at least 15 tables waiting for food. Felt bad for the poor woman running round serving the food out. It took so long, it’s Easter school holidays so I expected it to be staffed better to avoid the long wait, I have a child that has sensory issues and the long wait made him restless.

My stars say it all. Great atmosphere, great service, great food, attractive decor, will definitely return.

Serving behind the bar was a lad called Ryan....... Very patient polite and efficient...... You need more staff behind the bar like him...... It was busy yesterday..... He handled the rush well 🙂

Lovely atmosphere was with family for mother’s day. On advert it says half a roast chicken. But i never got that… i got a leg. Felt like crying. Thought going to tuck into a breast. Would of complained but my family had already started to eat and as it was a treat from my son didnt want complain. Advertised fluffy roast potatoes. No. Three hard crackly things that did not resemble potatoes. Absolutely ruined my mother’s day treat. Don’t like to moan but this once yes

My partner and I visited this pub back in early February for Sunday lunch, we make a trip to Merry Hill once a month and our regular pub has not been so good of late so decided to give the The Old White Horse a try. The pub was quite busy but we managed to find a parking space. We were told there would be a 40 minute wait for the food but we didn’t mind, we ordered the 3 course lunch for a set price. We found a table in a quiet spot towards the back of the pub. The staff were all helpful and friendly, the pub had a good atmosphere. The food was hot and tasty when it arrived and was definitely worth the wait. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Pub, give it a try.

Jeanie and Heather always go above and beyond here. We’ve never had a bad meal and the service is great. The staff are lovely and engaging. Food is of good quality and reasonably priced.

Staff were great but food bit of a let down. Meal came out almost cold but was back nice and hot pretty sharpish.

I had half roast chicken there was 2 quarters the thigh and leg was pink inside! I sent it back the waitress said the chef said he'd use a probe and it was cooked!! Beef yes chicken no! I could have another one but I would have to wait by then the rest of my party would have eaten their meal it was mother's day and the restaurant was full it would have taken ages. I ate the brest only that was not pink...my mother's day meal ruined

Had to wait 50 mins for food. Food was cold. I had fish and it was cold in the middle. Staff were lovely but rushed off their feet. It was very busy but it was Saturday teatime so maybe more staff?

Wonderful food and service given to our large Meetup group. They cope with a large group very well. Very organised. Definitely recommend.

Food itself was great but a couple of meals spoilt due to either poor packing or hasty delivery. Everything was covered in beef dipping sauce as on of the pots had been packed on its side. This meant that the fish meal was covered in it, and the scampi meal was only half edible. One of the burger meals was missing the beef dipping sauce as it had completed decanted into the delivery bag. I appreciate that accidents happen, but it was a disappointing experience on this occasion. I cannot stress e

Lovely breakfasts served to 30 of my meetup group members. The food is excellent and the staff ensure that we are well looked after. We are regularls here because its a lovely venue and the service is so good we'll recommend. Ps value for money too you get a lot for such low cost.
