We have been here several times but never for breakfast and I have to say food was amazing as always, but didn’t like the coffee!! The only thing I would like to say it’s the fact that even if dogs are welcome they should be kept on a lead: my daughters are terrorised of dogs and this one kept coming under our table while we were eating :( Staff were friendly, pub is very clean and it has got a nice atmosphere, also big car park just outside .

A late lunch when many pubs are no longer serving was no problem and it was delicious. It was cosy with a lovely fireplace and good atmosphere.

We decided to give the Old thatch a go, as we ve tried alot of other places, which were not good!!! We didn't love our starters, but the roast beef main was fabulous. Every bit of it was really well cooked, especially the cauliflower cheese!! At last we ve got somewhere to go for a really decent Sunday roast!!!

A great welcome by Kirsty! We were having a festive dinner with lovely friends and the food was delicious, well presented and amazing. All the staff were friendly and welcoming but Kirsty was our favourite because she was so lovely throughout.

We drove our Motorhome there and left it for two nights so we ate dinner the first night then came back for Sunday lunch, both of which were excellent. What a stunning location. Beautiful historic building with real character, thatched roof as you would guess but services was great and the food... well, one of the best pub experiences ever and I've eaten at a few good ones over the years. The pie was home made, gorgeous pastry etc. but the Sunday lunch was absolutely top rate. brilliant roasts, excellent tender meat, Yorkshire and braised red cabbage, tonnes of quality gravy.... all with brilliant service. Even helped out with water for the Motorhome. Will return there whenever we're in the region.

Had a fantastic family Sunday roast today at The Old Thatch. A lovely setting - classic old English country pub. The food was superb! A trio of roasts with all the trimmings and enough gravy to swim in! And as if the portions were not big enough you can order extra crackling... I was in heaven. Our waitress Kirsty was superb and very attentive. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Had a lovely meal here on Thursday, can’t fault a single thing! Delicious duck pate, velvety and full of flavour!!! Tomahawk was cooked to perfection… washed down with some fizz and a lovely glass of malbec. Highly recommend all to visit, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you to the staff for a very pleasant meal!

We went for the first time last Sunday for lunch, absolutely cracking Sunday lunch . Superb amount of meat, fantastic amount of vegetables, and a huge Yorkshire pudding.

Whenever I think of The Old Thatch I immediately conjure up their Wild Mushroom parcel & It literally makes me salivate! My son is very particular about his burger and they never disappoint! Another beautiful meal at a lovely restaurant. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they enjoy working together by the way they banter. It's a dog friendly place that has a jar of dog snacks on the bar for our furry friends. Couldn't ask for better as a local pub. Thank you for a lovely evening

We visited a couple of family pubs over the last week that were new to us - the old thatch did not disappoint! Lovely atmosphere and service and the food was delicious. This was made even better by the woodland play park which kept the kids entertained after food. We will definitely return

Had a lovely evening here tonight, the food was fantastic. Felt compelled to write a review due to the delightful lady we had serving us this evening. Came here for my father in laws birthday meal, the staff were amazing especially izzy she was so helpful and always had a smile on her face, I had the fish and chips and it was really good! They were very good with my allergies as well which I really was impressed with. The place it's self is also beautiful inside and out! Will be coming back again.

We arrived and were taking outside to a tent for our meal!!!! Yes you heard me right a tent there was heating but with open sides it was a joke. Our meals were brought out in the rain before appearing in the tent why was there not heat cover on the plates really bad management. We had turkey with one pig in blanket. We had to ask for blankets. Why why were we not informed that we would be eating in November outside. And £20 a meal at least Toby or Bridge House you get to eat in the warm. Such a shame when in the past we have had good meals in doors.

We went here for Sunday lunch. £110 to sit in a marquee with no sides and very poor heating in Novembe!!!! Slow service to supply a very mediocre roast Turkey. I spent 5 mins trying to find a 2nd pigs in blankets,but to no avail. I wont be going back. Nick

This place is good for a decent Sunday Lunch with the family but only if you like dogs. Its a lovely place, nice trimmings. Sensibly priced. We were literally surrounded by dogs. One barked...they all barked. One ran under our table not sure l want to return.

Absolutely fantastic food. This is 100% worth trying out. The decor is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed m, staff very friendly with swift service and the food was incredible. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Old Thatch.

Three of us popped in during the afternoon for a coffee. What a fabulous, welcoming and cozy place! Haven't been for years but see there have been some changes and wanted to see the new decor and little store. We had a lovely little table for 3 right in front of the lit fire which was attended whilst we were there to keep it burning well and the candles were lit. What a treat. The ladies were so lovely and welcoming offering great service. Will be back for a meal sometime, even thinking about Christmas Day for a change from cooking for everybody at home. Looking forward to another visit and trying out the beautifully lit outside area.

A family of 17, giving less than 24 hour notice for a Sunday roast dinner and these guys couldn’t have been better. Fantastic food and equally fantastic service. We are a lot to deal with but they made it seem effortless😅 Shout out to John Kaya Taylor for creating this environment for us

Lovely evening once again. 5* service and the food as always superb!! The pie was recommended by our wonderful attentive waitress Tamzin which I opted for and my partner had the pork loin, both meals were superb followed by possibly the best homemade brownie we have ever tasted! The Thatch never fails us and we have booked in for December for the Christmas menu again with the help of Tamzin who even let us choose our table! Thankyou also to the chefs Lee, Ben, Dan & Karthik (Also recommend the fever tree rhubarb tonic)

The prices have risen since our last visit, lamb roast now £20 and beef roast £21. The lamb was fine but the beef was tough and half of it was left uneaten. The service was good so I tipped the waitress in cash before discovering that a 10 percent tip was included in the bill. The desserts were OK but the seating initially was at a low table on low chairs. The managaress when asked found us a normal sized table and chairs. All in all not a great experience. Tips should not be automatically put on the bill until authorised by the customer

Everything about our evening was superb. The food was perfect, service great and our waitress, Tamzin gave us all the advice and help we needed as we had a couple of allergy issues. What she wasn't sure of she went and found out for us and was very friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back!

My partner and I went for my birthday meal this evening. With it being Halloween, the cosy indoors was delightfully decorated in spooktacular and Autumnal decor (the skeletons in particular were a real hit - will we be seeing them on Valentine's day I wonder?). There's no denying that this place is absolutely gorgeous. There is an incredible outdoor area, with a playground, food kiosks and bars, a spacious canvas marquee and tall trees peppered around - it's enchanting and I bet it's wonderful in Summer. As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted and led to the bar before our reservation. There is no doubt - the staff here are exceptional. They are some of the most polite, gentle-speaking, positive and spirited people I've ever met. Unfortunately I was unable to remember their names but they were all so lovely. My partner is vegan, and although she isn't strict in her dietary requirements, all the members of staff that served us told us of the ingredients in dishes and how it's prepared differently - they even gave my partner chips instead of mash to go with her vegan pie, which she was chuffed about as she's mad about them - and oh boy, they're some of the best chips I've EVER eaten (or rather, pinched from her plate - whoops)! Before I continue, a small note on the dietary options. It's so refreshing to see a restaraunt that deeply considers the menu for vegans and vegetarians. We were very impressed about the range of options and pies on offer and how exciting they sounded. My partner has been the victim of many steakless ale pies, rubbery quorn subsititutes, waxy curries and bland vegan options - The Old Thatch blew it out of the park for her! Of course, me being the barbaric carnivore that I am, opted for the Venison Sausages. Oh my...I can't even begin to describe them. My tastebuds ascended to the Gods. The most delicious and well-presented dish I have ever had in this country, and despite being a lesbian I do love a good sausage! ;) I don't usually pour gravy on my food but even that was so good I drank it straight out of the dainty silver churn like a cup of tea! We were so full after our dinner that we sadly had to turn down desserts but vouched to return to taste the Brownie and Biscoff cheesecake! Thank you for such a fabulous experience - we can't wait to come back soon!

Found this place on a bike ride. Lovely hospitality warm and cosy atmosphere and cleverly decorated for Halloween. Stopped for a drink ended up staying for lunch food quality and taste was very good and exceptional service from Georgia, will be including this place in future rides.
