We have been to Old station twice now and both visits have been amazing! Food was great, staff was fantastic, and banter from one of the chefs which makes the atmosphere amazing. The staff in general are amazing, friendly, chatty, and polite. Would really recommend if you want awesome food.

Found this place close to our overnight stay so came for dinner. Lovley little place with plenty of space. Also some nice play equipment for any kids you have. Food was very good aswell as the desert! Would definitely come again.

We enjoyed our night at this well run, clean and friendly hotel. The three course evening meal was freshly prepared and delicious. Our room was spotless and well presented. We both are surprised this is only a two star rated hotel, as our experience exceeded many four stars we’ve stayed in. Our breakfast was again delicious. The staff are all attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. It has ample parking and a beautiful rear garden with seating. If we are in the region again, we would wholeheartedly head for The Tumbling Weir, Thank~you

I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return. I noticed some other reviewers describing the hotel as needing refurbishment. I wouldn't agree. If you usually only stay in those plain modern hotels like Holiday Inn you might think The Imperial is outdated but it's just styled in its time. Everything is nicely kept, clean and comfortable. The staff are all charming and cannot do enough to help you. The location is second to none - on the seafront but within its own gardens away the esplanade which can be busy. I had a superior room with a balcony which is more expensive but worth it unless you're not going to spend much time in the room. You get the sun pouring in most of the day and a good sunset over the hills. Heating in the room is electric and thermostatically controlled. It resets itself in the night and I found it a little chilly first thing in the morning. Breakfast was tasty and fairly priced at £10 for the hot and cold buffet. If you only want a bowl of cornflakes and a coffee you might think it's expensive. Car parking is an extra £6 per night which I always begrudge when you are already paying £100+ per night. And they use one of those cowboy parking enforcement companies with cameras everywhere and a track record of conning money out of people so I wouldn't even risk driving in to drop luggage off. That's my only gripe. At least the parking cost is not excessive compared to nearby alternatives.

Second visit here and food is nice. Such a shame though that some of the cutlery was dirty and the plate was so obviously unclean! Dried on red food stains under my scampi and chips. No way this wouldn’t have been noticed. Sorry, not acceptable for the money paid
