A much better alternative to the soulless corporate chains. Friendly staff, decent rates, good breakfast.

We booked this as we were attending an event nearby - Vicky was welcoming and friendly. It feels like a home and the old building is well utilised. Its a bit tired but very comfy. We booked a twin room which had ample space - beds were comfy and it was spotlessly clean. Bathroom was ok - due to the shape of the room the shower was not idea for a 6ft person! Breakfast was excellent - well cooked, tasty. We left a shift behind by accident and Vicky called me to arrange collection or post. when we collected ti she had already washed it. Very continent and easy to get to an genuinely warm hospitality.

This place isn’t for us - rooms are so dated, no showers & bed wasn’t comfortable at all. The breakfast was ok. Home made jam was v tasty but we won’t be staying here again.

I never stayed but my motorcycle broke down outside the property and I was given a cup of tea and some biscuits whilst I waited for the recovery vehicle. I would just like to say thank you and I would recommend just on this experience

We were here for a rest, breakfast, tea, coffee, takeaway cake. Chat with the people running the place. What better could anyone want. Bring your van, push bike, or arrive on foot. The breakfast is fresh, yummy. I will be back. Had a great time there, cheers. It's just about the place, the journey and the planning of the day.

On a busy Thursday lunchtime in January, I found this lovely pub filled with friendly faces. Luckily, there was a cosy spot available in the conservatory, and they even offered to turn on the heating for me, but I was perfectly comfortable as it was. This place has got something special going on, especially since it’s been run by the same family for many years! I decided to treat myself to their super popular steak pie with chips and mushy peas. At £17, which included a drink, it was worth it! The homemade pie was delicious, and I enjoyed great views while I savoured my meal!
