An amazing real ale pub with lovely rooms, a family room, fires in winter. Ig car park. Accessible. Amazingly friendly staff, good cobs at weekends. Pop up food, no juke box or music, no sport, no TV, proper local pub.

Wide range of real ales & ciders. Limited food range but top quality at low prices. Good filled rolls £2.50. £1 for tea & coffee (instant caffeinated and decaf). High quality burgers at times, including last Saturday evening around £3.50 - £4 BBQ outdoors by landlady's husband. Dog-friendly. Children welcome before 8pm. Will visit again.

Been in the area for a couple of years and this is the best pub for real ale that I have found. Super range of traditional real ales, cider, Perry and a proper lager. Lots of books and papers to while away the time if you don't want conversation. Not had any food so cant comment. Recommended!!

Another visit today, good as always. Can't think what else to say, but trip advisor demands 100 words.

The Old Oak is a bit of a gem. Friendly and welcoming, there’s always at least half a dozen beers of various styles, all impeccably kept. At weekends there’s a mini beer festival in the ‘Rurad Bar’ with even more to choose from. Real ciders too. And a good selection of interesting fruit wines. Cozy and homely, there’s four rooms, two with real fires. Food at the weekend is a selection of cobs, crisps and pork pies. Simply done, and the perfect match for a quality pint of beer. Just as welcoming for four-legged friends as humans! A bit of a community hub, with folk nights, Morris dancers stopping by and easy to get to on the Amberline bus. Great beer garden and the landlady’s chicken and duck eggs on sale.

Often nip in for quick drink, got to be one of the nicest village pubs in the area. Very quaint old fashioned pub that sells lots of ale's including a good range from their own family brewer. Bar snacks as well as real fires, and a beer garden with an array of livestock to look at. A must visit pub with a conservatory bar at the weekend selling more real ales from the barrel.

Probably the best bloody pub in the world! When the back bar is open it's like heaven!! Watch out for B52, and Fluffer, they will put you bang out of order.

I have to admit to some bias, I've been drinking here for over 12 years, always thought of it as my local, even when living in the next county. The Oak is like a mini beer festival every weekend, the real ale bar at the back often has over 8 real ales and ciders, some brewed by themselves and guest beers. The front bar also serves real ales, with the addition of two lagers, for the poor souls that don't know any better! You won't find a pool table or juke box here, but you will find excellent beers, a warm welcome and the best views over the hills and fields. Food is fresh filled rolls (cobs if you're local, mi duck), crisps etc, the licensee Tracy and family are rightly determined to keep it a pub where people meet, chat, laugh and make new friends. The pub is very dog friendly, if kept under control and on a lead (the owners, of course!) The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and generally amazing too.

Stopped by this pub on a bike ride. Very welcoming barman. Try the pork pie - it's lovely! Areas outside to sit, food served in addition to bar snacks. We'll definitely return!

A wonderful pub recommended by a friend. Lovely, welcoming staff and the locals are friendly. Great selection of real ales and there is a separate real ale bar that I believe is open at the weekends.

Superb range of impeccably well-kept beers. One of the friendliest pubs for miles whether you are a human or dog visitor. Good selection of filled cobs usually available on the front bar, cozy fires and great beer garden (with bird menagerie!). Fabulous pub.

Small local pub with a wide choice of beers, Ales, wines and everything. The atmosphere in there is something else, more homely than a big chain of pubs. One criticism is the toilets need sprucing up a little! Dogs welcome! Definitely worth a visit!

Have visited several times now, and never been disappointed. The atmosphere is great and the choice of real ales staggeringly good (try Strawberry Blonde for a start). The welcome is always friendly, and with varied rooms to choose from there's always somewhere to suit. A major event was extremely well hosted in the Garden Room, which is fully-accessible by wheelchair. The one thing I've never tried is the pub food, but all reports are that sandwiches etc are fresh and well prepared. Don't miss this pub !

Now we're huge curry fans so we are always dubious about trying new Indian restaurants as we have been disappointed so many times. We have now had two takeaways from Rajput and I have to say, they were both really really good. Lots of depth of flavour you want from a curry. We're planning on taking family for a meal on Saturday so I hope it is of the same standard that we've enjoyed so far.
