The best chip shop and Chinese food around this area bar none! I’ve been coming to this chip shop for over 10 years and the customer service of Jackie and the team is brilliant. On top of that, the food is excellent, never had bad food from them once. Chip are freshly made and the fish is lovely and crispy. The Chinese food is excellent with whole pieces of chicken and none of the reformed stuff you get with other places. Also it’s all so reasonably priced. We eat here around once a week and usually treat ourselves to food from here on a Saturday evening. My only gripe is that they sometimes have to close to go on holidays. Which sucks cause it means that if we fancy a takeaway, we have to chose an inferior place and we’ve tried many over the years. Out simply, Kingfisher and Luke Vic are the best.

Had great chinese, sweet and sour hong kong style is always a favourite. Have also had kebabs from here before. Would recommend.

I ordered a Chinese takeaway and got to say its the worst Chinese I have ever had, tasteless, dry, and like rubber, most of it went in the bin. £27.20 down the drain! .

Really disappointed…. Asked for a mixed kebab, with sauce and salad. And a portion of cheesey chips. This cost nearly £10… Won’t be back.

Lovely people and a great Chinese takeaway. Been visiting for literally decades and have never unhappy. The fish and chips is excellent, but the Chinese food is the best around.

Absolutely the best takeaway in Codnor! I love the Malaysian chicken (17a) and my partner isn't keen on many dishes but they always make his special kebab to suit (XXL meat kebab) with their perfect chips!

RIP OFF - asked for a large cod and was given one no bigger than my hand, increased prices and giving smaller portions I do not recommend this place poor value for money.

Beautiful chips, very tasty. The fish is very nice as well. Batter is light and crispy and not soggy. It a lovely chippy.

We moved here a year ago and have been searching for a great Chinese takeaway and this is it! Customer service is brilliant, friendly they know their customers. The Curry, Chow Main and Sweet and Sour Chicken were all exactly how we like them and the shop was beautifully clean. Will definitely be back.

As a regular customer I've always enjoyed their Chinese or fish and chips. Friendly service as well.

Chips was undercooked. Paid £6.50 for cheesy chips and hardly got any cheese. Our order came to £45 with a mixture of Chinese and chip shop food and I asked for prawn crackers the lady on till pointed to how much we spent to her colleague and she said we have to pay £2.40 for prawn crackers. It’s little things like that that keeps customers coming costs them roughly 10p a bag for prawn crackers and can’t even give them out for free. Disappointed

We moved into the area 18months ago and we just tried them last night 21st January My wife doesn’t like Chinese food so we haven’t had one for a few years BUT This meal was brilliant we started with a spring roll between us my wife had the sweet and sour chicken balls ( nearly a full chicken!) I had the duck with plum sauce (ditto nearly a duck!) egg fried rice and fried bamboo shoots and water chestnuts sufficient for four people…..a feast …..the staff are very friendly and my order was ready for me to collect in 15 minutes i paid in cash which is preferred but they have card facilities now Excellent we will have this treat much more often I don’t need to eat until Tuesday

The best take-away by far! Whenever we have guests around and use Kingfisher, they always compliment the food as well which just goes to show how nice it is! Extremely pleasant staff too. Beware however that it is cash only, so make sure to have money before collecting your order.

Had a decent kebab here a few weeks back with my mum. She loved it. So did I. They do some Chinese takeaway too and fish and chips. I had some chips also they were good chips.

The atmosphere in this place is first class . Friendly owners and top class food . Best chips I’ve ever had . Fish and bbq ribs were really tasty . Will be my favourite from now on

Best chippy and best Chinese takeaway for miles! We've been customers here ever since Simon and Jackie and their family took over in the early 90's. The fish and chips are proper fish and chips cooked in proper chip shop fryers. The Chinese food is amazing - if they are ever closed I'd rather go without than go anywhere else! Jackie and her staff are all lovely, friendly people and they all do a brilliant job!

Chips and gravy were very very nice. Got a portion of chicken balls which were much bigger in size and quantity than I was expecting. They kindly swapped the sweet and sour sauce for curry sauce free of charge. The lady who served me was extremely nice and polite. I would go there again without a doubt. Only thing I say is they should expand the menu a bit more. But that's just me being picky I suppose.

Proper chips, that's right, not greesy the fish was also cooked well, the batter was tasty, I'm not one for eating fried batter. All in all its a great local well established chippy run by really friendly people. 😀

Always fresh and tasty and they don't put your food in those polystyrene containers which destroy fish and chips with condensation. They are wrapped just as they should be. Staff always friendly My favourite local chippy by a country mile

Always great fish and chips and other traditional chippy grub is available from this shop. Pies peas gravy as well as sausages all on the menu - along with pizzas and kebabs not forgetting the Chinese menu too.

A local chippy that does the usual fayre, generous portions of chips always given with the option of batter bits. Fish fillets of cod or haddock which are cooked to order and are large. English - Pukka pies, battered and plain sausages, fishcake, potato fritter and battered black pudding. Others - pizza which are thick crust and very generous on the toppings. Extensive Chinese menu and the kebabs are ace. Recommended

Great food a mix of chip shop/ chinese / pizza and kebabs there's something for everyone. No delivery service available but very friendly and tasty.

My wife and I have used the Luke Vic for several years now and never been disappointed. The staff are so friendly and helpful and both the Chinese and Fish and chips options are some of the best in Derbyshire.

I heave been using this take away for 25 years+ always fantastic experience ! It's always spotless clean and the staff are wonderful !

Excellent quality. The chips here are always a winner and I enjoy the options on the Chinese takeaway menu too, especially lemon chicken (would recommend!). Staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable

Best chippy for miles around lovely spam fritters

We're spoilt here in Codnor with this chippy... Fish 'n chips are great with a generous portion of hand cut chips and the fillets of cod are always good quality.Pukka pies, steak and onion, minced beef and onion, steak' n kidney and chicken 'mushroom all heated in the oven... Never the microwave Kebabs, just doner but are excellent! Recommended the chilli sauce! Chinese is very good, I'm a kung po lover. Pizzas are thick crust type and served with loads of toppings.

Took a chance and popped into Kingfisher this evening for a quick take away dinner. Both of us are fussy eaters so was a bit unsure eating from somewhere new. A smile, a genuine warm welcome and served within a minute. The place was clean and fresh and the service was all round pleasing but most importantly the food was a real treat. We ordered egg fried rice, chips and curry. I have to recommend this place as I cannot fault it and will return again without hesitation.

I've been a customer for this place since I was a little kid about twenty years ago. Nothing has changed. Still owned by the same family, still great fish and chips, the best kebab ever, pizza and chinese food. I now live in Ripley and like many other people I go out of my way to come here, it's simply that great!

I have been to many chip-shops around Britain - but none compared to here! The chips are delicious and you always get your moneys worth! The Chinese dishes are also very nice. The interior is always spotless.

Had takeaway fish and chips here on a short break to Derbyshire and they were some of the best i've had in a while, better than some I've had recently at a FishQuay! Highly recomend.

This place has been a firm family favourite ever since I can remember. We'd always look forward to the days when we'd get food from here and as a kid I loved visiting with my mother.They do fantastic chips (The best in Codnor) and do the most amazing curry sauce that I've never been able to find a match for anywhere else. Their fish is good, but thin. However, I do recommend the fish cakes and sausages. They do fantastic handmade pizza in various sizes and have a great selection of toppings. (All fresh.) The sauce the use is so tasty. If you're in the mood for a kebab look no further. They make amazing kebabs with decent quality meat. Definitely try their special chilli sauce, it's been a family favourite for a long time. Also, try the kebab cobs. It's actually something my brother ordered so much they added it to their menu.And finally I come to discussing their Chinese food. Amazing quality, packed with flavour, generous portions. And I still can't find a match to the taste of their black bean sauce to this day!Go. Go now. You know you want to.

Great chippy that does Chinese, kebabs and pizzas as well. I've never had a bad meal there ever, kebabs are lovely, Chinese food is good as well... If you love a deep dough Base on your pizza then this is the plate for you! I can thoroughly recommend the garlic bread wich is a pizza Base.

We have been going to Luke Vic when we fancy a Chinese meal for a few years now and the food is always consistent, amongst our favourites are The Kung po chicken, Beef in black pepper sauce and the mushroom chow mein, we always telephone our order through and it is ready within 20 minutes, the staff are always very friendly too
