We stopped on the off chance on a lunch stop and were blown away by the gorgeous food! Absolutely delicious! Really hearty size. The full English was HUGE! And I was assured it was delicious. Mine was the Eggs Royale and it was silky hollandaise and the poached eggs were done perfectly. Can't recommend enough! Noone else was in there at the time we went and I can't think why, it is brilliant!

Stopped by after a local walk with the kids and dog, sat outside and had drinks, bacon butties an egg butty and pancakes with bacon and maple sauce. All were lovely and the staff were great

We had breakfast on Friday 31st may group of ladies from Sainsbury's with a couple of family members, we thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was lovely the service was fabulous, we will definitely be returning. Can't wait to sit In the lovely garden area . Thank you for our lovely visit .

Been for the first time today. I was blown away by the amazing food, staff and environment. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Whole place exquisitely decorated with even the smallest of intricacies. Would highly recommend. Thank you! X

My photos can’t do justice to this amazing place. My mate ordered Welsh rarebit which was done to perfection with crispy bacon and lovely brown proper cheese on top, as well as a little bit of salad garnish. Well more than a garnish. And my porridge, which was served with delicately decorated fresh fruit was just soft enough and just chewy enough to be absolutely perfect. In fact, I ordered a whiskey to drizzle over the top to give it a worthy sendoff. The perfect dish when you are hiking.

gave it 4* only because they don’t allow dogs inside. the food was stunning, and i received the largest amount of bacon i have ever had with an order of pancakes. smoked haddock fishcakes were delicious too. they open from 8am, which is a massive plus, as most breakfast places in the area open from 10am.

I’ve lived in the area for the last 2 years and have enjoyed the food from the Bridge Cafe - however, the service is unfortunate. I’ve showed up multiple times to order food to “take away” and been turned away as they’re too busy. If this was just a one off I’d totally understand - but this has happened many times now. I don’t see the point in offering a take away service if this is something the business can’t manage. Disappointing. But again, as I’ve said - when I’ve actually managed to get some food it has been delicious! It’s a real shame. EDIT: Think you’ve got the wrong person here. I did not ring you at all & certainly never shouted at the staff. It’s not in my nature at all. Like I said, I really enjoy the Bridge House & it was such a shame that the takeout wasn’t clearly open or closed as we’d traveled to be there. When I have been there I’ve very much enjoyed talking to the staff & yourself. So I’m quite shocked at the nastiness in this response. No disrespect was intended at all. Just simple constructive criticism! Seeing this unwarranted attack & the way you have treated previous reviewers who also said they enjoyed the food but simply had constructive criticism - I certainly will not be returning to the Bridge House again & I will warn my family, friends & any visitors to do the same.

This is such a fantastic restaurant, in my opinion the best we've come across ever for breakfast! The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is so much better than 5* and really good value. The garden is really pretty too.

Sat in the lovely garden in a sun trap, food was amazing, staff were lovely, it was busy but worth the wait!

Fantastic food, been numerous times and always enjoyed! However, young waitress made a small mistake with my wife’s order and the owner threatened to take the mistake out of the young girls wages!! An honest mistake but once again the owner shows his rudeness! I’ve previously witnessed him whistle and click his fingers at young staff members in front of customers! Clearly a good chef but the same can’t be said as an employer

We had a family tapas night at The Bridge House tonight. Highly recommend it. The food was absolutely amazing, hardly anything was left and everyone was full to bursting. Service was excellent. The lovely lady serving us was friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely do that again. Got to be tried!! A big thank you from all of us.

Called this morning for a meeting with a mate. What a good choice. Massive full English. I can eat but couldn't finish it all. It was a very good breakfast and worth every penny. Good coffee too. Well worth a visit for breakfast.

Great food and drinks,friendly and helpful staff will be going again to enjoy the food. Limited parking at the restaurant but you can park on the road near by.

Absolutely amazing experience here last week Just called in for a quick lunch but realised our bus was in 20 minutes The staff pulled out all the stops to serve us enormous gorgeous bacon cobs and drinks within minutes and they thoughtfully even provided us with takeaway cups to decant our drinks into to take away with us Thank you so much for such exceptional speedy service and food Will definitely be back for a more leisurely lunch and try some of the other items from n the menu that looked amazing

Have been twice as I was working local and omg it was amazing. The full English breakfast is massive but not only that it's quality every bite is lovely. Also had the fried chicken and waffles with bacon and cheese and syrup and that was gorgeous. It came with a sour cream dip and the combination with that and the syrup was surprisingly very very nice. I definitely recommend if you are in the area, driving by or even live close it's well worth the money.

Had a birthday breakfast on 23rd Dec, it was amazing! They put us downstairs so we had our own room - and the breakfasts, as always, were top notch! Thank you so much for your great service and food - you made our day!

The food is delicious, and the portion sizes are very generous. Fresh home cooked food that is of high quality is whatbisnserved here. This is our 3rd visit and won't be the last. The staff are so lovley and accommodating and work hard to make your experience so lovley. Well done Bridge House

Our initial visit was very promising.We were shown around the place by the owner and the food was outstanding. We were also informed that no booking was necessary, and we would always be welcome. However, on our second visit, there were three staff members standing about, and a number of unreserved free tables. Yet we were turned away because we had not made a booking. Was the Chef just lazy, or don't they need the business? Whatever the reason, we will not be visiting this place again, & will not be recommending it to friends. Poor service indeed...

Great food but a little bit pricey. They charge an extra 75p for squirty cream on top of your milkshake price which is not advertised and should be included, not an optional extra already £3.95 and made with milk not a thick one with ice cream. £45 for 3 breakfasts and a drink each is what we paid. They came for our plates before I had even finished what was in my mouth also I was told and not very nicely before I was shown to my seat, that I should have booked to avoid disappointment ( there was at least 12 tables free with no one sat at them) so not sure where that comment came from. Give them ago if you like nice food just be prepared to pay a little extra for it.

This is an incredible cafe! We stopped by for lunch and were very pleasantly surprised by how wondeful the food was. The pancakes were so fluffy and the Bagle with bacon and avocado was loaded high with perfectly crispy bacon. It was perfect from the first bite to the last. I can't wait to go back and try more of the food!

We have been a few times for breakfast here and enjoy the food everytime! I was upset that I couldn't get in for fathers day and messaged on facebook, they squeezed us in at the last table of the day which was greatly appreciated. As we arrived 2 friends were trying to get a table and they managed to add 2 chairs at the end of us with no problems. Thank you so much for this! Although we waited an hour for food but this was because it was so busy. The food was beautiful. Thank you so much for squeezing us in :)

Fantastic. Tea for 2, decent size teapot could barely lift, with large warmed cups. Both had the Full English - The biggest breakfast I have ever seen. Proper quality produce. Only serve brunch, shuts at 2pm. Going back tomorrow with friends to try something else off menu. Looking forward to it!! Interior smart but cool. Staff were very friendly.

Tried the Bridge House for the first time as an alternative to busier restaurants along the A6 and wasn't at all let down. Only dropped in for a coffee and a snack but ended up having a tour around the premises and a full itinerary of future exciting plans for the place. The owner / chef was very welcoming and did his best to upsell his menu; hence ending up with a full breakfast on a flatbread. It was bloody delicious! My eating companion had a tea cake and was utterly astonished to discover that two tea cakes come as standard. Dogs are not allowed indoors but are welcome in outdoor areas. The price is higher than average for this kind of fayre, but we were still more than happy to ride the escalator of inflamed prices in the present economy.

Just wow! This place is an absolute gem. There were so many options on the menu, ranging from a massive Full English Breakfast (pictured) for just £11.95 to bagels, smoked salmon, and Eggs Benedict. Lots of options for vegetarians too. Would highly recommend.

Nice tasting food, coffee was good, but a half cup of coffee was overwhelming. We add one slice of toast with toppings. £28.55 was well over changed. Young girls serving us were very helpful. The owner was rude about his staff. Will not return

This place is amazing, from the road it looks like any other house but when you open the door it's like the TARDIS, wether it is a take away or you want to treat yourself and family to a banquet . The service is excellent and the food only has one small drawback the size of it is massive so much so we have a regular contest to see who can finish

I’d like to start this of by saying the food is really nice at the Bridgehouse cafe but for an all around experience it’s not been great because the staff are very young and untrained but the unpleasant thing about my experience was the chef coming out to the shop shouting, yelling & being very rude to his customers and as this is something you don’t see so I was very shocked!
