Such a special place to visit, this small garden centre has a great feel about it. Now part of charity Waythrough, it helps local people with mental health challenges with their recovery. Home made cakes, panini, soups and great coffee. Dogs very welcome….Horton country park is opposite.

Stopped in during a dog walk for a coffee and piece of carrot cake, which was pretty good, but the drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive, and were scolding hot. We will probably return because we like the idea behind it and also there is currently nowhere else close enough to use for a 'pitstop' near Horton, but l think l will opt for a cup of tea next time.

Small garden centre with an excellent cafe. Good selection of GF cakes and peaceful inside and outside seating. The Floating Refillery was there when we went so we were able to top up on loose porridge and rice and some household cleaning products.

Mum turned 90 recently and had heard about The Old Moat so we brought her for lunch here and had a lovely time. Food was very good - portions are very big! (There was only a packed lunch type thing for children - sometimes mum has a children’s meal) Great value and very tasty. Really, really appreciated Ailish who took the order 🙂 The Walled Garden was greatly enjoyed. We plan to come back soon. All was just the right size for mum to manage to look around with good disabled access, disabled toilet, disabled parking and rails to hold onto and mum spotted the swap book case! Recommended 🙂

Booked the Christmas wreath making workshop for myself and my daughter pre Christmas as we thought it would be a lovely christmassy thing to do and it was. We were with a really nice group and the ladies teaching us were so welcoming and helpful. The course included a coffee and a mince pie half way through which was a welcome warm up, The wreaths were prepared along with the the decorations to go onto the wreath being prewired. We were shown the basic premise of what to do and then we all put our own slant on each wreath to put them together. The workshop was outside but undercover and there were plenty of heaters but where a coat. It was such a fun an christmasssy thing to do and we came away with super duper wreath for our doors, I highly recommend and I we will do it again next year.

I met a friend for coffee. The venue were really good at assuring me of their wheelchair access provisions in advance. There was a wide entry door to the cafe near the outdoor seating which someone showed me to. The staff are all really lovely and the cake and coffee was yummy. My WAV broke down whilst there and all the staff at the garden centre were amazing. Made sure I was not locked in or left on my own. Couldn’t give a better review to all the staff at the place if I tried. The wheelchair access is good, accessible loo in the cafe is a really good size. I was able to get around independently and thoroughly enjoyed my trip here. Will definitely be back.

Lovely cafe, outdoor and inside seating - all dog friendly. Lots of gluten free options, smoothies, cold/hot drinks, cakes, ice creams as well as cold/hot food. I had the waffle with bacon and syrup, very nice but sickly so would recommend ordering the syrup on the side.

My friend is a coeliac so needs a GF option and the staff were so knowledgable and even checked the ingredients on a specific meal for her. Delicious food, fab service (honestly better then The Ivy !) and above all great value. Look forward to coming back soon.

This is one of my local garden centres in the area worth visiting. I came for the first time this year in order to look at the plants, and have some nice cake in the cafe as well. It was a great outing. I had a nice time. If you have any gardening related questions talk to the employees etc. Feel free to take a look around the place and maybe even purchase one of the products on sale as well. I love this garden centre. I wandered around looking at the flowers and even picked up some nice tasty fudge to eat at home too.

Went in for a browse, to find a special Christmas card and to support a local, charitable business. Whilst looking at the cards, the staff having a conversation and cup of tea in the office obviously found my presence distracting and invasive. They shut the door and told me to ring the bell when I was ready. I couldn't believe how rude that was! I was made to feel quite uncomfortable. Total lack of customer service. I decided to put the items I was going to purchase back and left. I won't be going back.

I have always visited this place in support of their initiative. However despite supporting mental health their approach to deaf customers and customers with mobility issues were ill thought through. Very unpleasant experience of ordering but unable to lipreading staff in full mask. No offer of pen paper. So stressful we left and went to Luna cafe instead. What a gem of a find Luna cafe was.

We very much like walking to the Old Moat for coffee/toastie/cake especially as dogs are welcome inside and outside the cafe; we wish more cafes would allow dogs because it surely increases people enjoying spending money and time in these dog friendly cafes. Also good for plants, greeting cards, compost and many more garden items. in the evening they also run entertainment nights. Worth going and once again enjoy a toastier and drinks.

We have been going to The Old Moat garden centre over the years and have seen it grown into the lovely little business it is now. We visited in September for a fun dog in the walled garden. It was well attended, well run and lots of fun, out favorite event was the rescues dog class, hearing their stories and seeing how happy the dogs are in their new homes was a joy. After the show we had a wander round the gift shop which whilst small holds a wealth of treasures. The garden part of the centre is well laid out and the plants are all healthy and in my opinion a good price. Before you leave pop to the cafe for a bite to eat, the staff are always welcoming, the place is clean and I can highly recommend their cake and to cap it all it is dog friendly. A garden centre which is large enough to have all you need but still small enough to have that non commercial feel.

The parking is much improved, but still not optimal for those coming by car. The garden centre has been expanded with more choice and the food in the cafe has imaginative daily options to add to their basic snack & meal range. Overall, a big improvement in range and service even at peak times now it is warm enough to sit outside in the enclosed area as well as inside with the yummy mummies with their oversized baby/child carriages.

Who could guess that this small garden centre had such a lovely cafe. On a Monday morning it was busy for morning coffee and even busier as lunch time approached. Good coffee . Scones looked great, not enormous as often found in chains. My companion, a local, said they were made by a friend of hers and very good. Will bring husband here to try them. As an aside, plants looked well cared for ; non plant gifts and cards were not common brands so a good place if you are looking for something different.

This is a small, neat and tidy garden centre that stocks a relatively small variety of plants but the plants they have got look heathy and well cared for. They also stock a variety of garden accessories, furniture and other gardening essentials. Prices are reasonable and the site is well kept. They have a small gift shop and cafe. The cakes, which looked homemade, were very tasty and coffee and tea good and again reasonably priced. The only thing that let them down were the staff in the cafe who looked bored and were more interested in impressing each other than looking after their customers. Admittedly it was a drab wet day and being mid afternoon, quiet but I didn't want to hear the young man who was serving very loudly telling stories of someone being sick and having diarrhea whilst I was eating. Sorry but you do need to do a little staff training regarding customer service! Other than that this is a pleasant and interesting stop off to stock up on garden essentials and relax and have a break.

My first experience of this Superfish was about 1 hour ago. We have used various fish and chip shops over the past few years but have never found one that is consistent in providing exactly what we were looking for. Well, after tonight's experience I feel we may have done so now. Good, fair pricing, good food, accurate collection estimate (which we find is very rare nowadays) and a very polite service with happy smiling faces. If they can consistently perform as they have tonight, we may have found the best fish and chip establishment for miles around. Well done everyone who made this possible!
