The Old Kings Arms in Leeds

Used to love coming here but it’s beyond annoying now. The last few times I’ve been, there’s just children running around everywhere and babies crying. I appreciate that the pub has created an inclusive space for families but it’s definitely to the detriment of customers who haven’t brought their children/don’t have children. It feels more like a soft play area than a pub to go to after work on a Friday now. I do also appreciate that it’s not the staff’s fault and parents should be looking after their children - but it’s become a bit insufferable.

Used to pop in a lot at one time. Went back to find no traditional ales so I wont be back.

Great pub lively atmosphere at early evening when I was there, allow dogs which is great, didn't try the food, what was being served looked good.

Popped in for a quick beer early evening on a Friday. The beer was very good, well kept, and a good selection at the bar. I always have a personal issue with pubs that are tied to a brewery. In this instance it's the Kirkstall Brewery and I find most of their beers have a similar flavour profile, I would always argue it would be good to be able to have a guest ale that is different. That aside. The atmosphere is really friendly, there with families and dogs welcomed by the staff. Will definitely be going back, hopefully to try the food or even catch the music.

Beautiful food, the mussels were fantastic! The staff are lovely and it’s the perfect atmosphere for a pub lunch. Not a lot of options for vegetarians and vegans, but you’ll eat well.

Lovely pub. Fun with or without the family and always a warm welcome. Featuring food from the renowned Forde restaurant next door. Always plenty of live entertainment from local bands to stand up comedy. Fantastic!

Fabolous Sunday roast last week. I had the nut roast which was amazing and my husband the beef (which apparently was equally as delicious). All the trimmings were cooked to perfection too, which is always a sign of the care and attention placed by the chef. Special mention to the cauliflower cheese which was divine! I cannot wait to be back!

Bit drab. Good if you want to watch a football match. Haven't had their food.

Went to a kids Halloween party here, wouldn't be my usual choice of pub I guess, but the beers, food and entertainment were really good. Happily go back and check this out on a regular day.

Fantastic pub with an excellent food and drink selection. Such a great, welcoming atmosphere, appropriate for all ages and all walks of life. The wide selection of events and family-friendly atmosphere give it a real community feel, something which I feel Horsforth has been missing. Cannot recommend this pub enough.

Only called in for a drink. It has recently been taken over by Kirkstall brewery. So a better choice of beers.

Staff behind the bar are lovely, not the best selection of beers but that's personal preference. Currently they have Slap and Pickle in doing food so great veggie options, loaded fries and dirty burgers.

Decor tired,, but referb advertised so fair enough. We actually only went for the slap and pickle food. Very disappointed, £25 for 2 average burgers served on paper plates and an unedable portion of loaded fries., 2 soft drinks. No attention to detail, no customer service if we had of been asked if everything was ok I would have said... Em no fries soggy sauce on top tasteless and with less than 6 people in the pub and for that price I expected better.

Great pub with fantastic food options (Slap & Pickle). Ever changing tap so you can try all kinds of beers and they also have seasonal drinks like mulled wine (near the holidays). Love the cozy old pub vibes and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting/living in Horsforth area. Very dog friendly too!

I ordered what I thought was a nice meal for my wife’s birthday from these people to be delivered. 5 minutes before it was due to be delivered, the restaurant cancelled with no explanation. Totally unreliable and ruined what should have been a really nice evening. Would not recommend if you actually want to receive food!

Not cheap, but great Thai food. Only loses a star because they didn't have any local dark beers, although the IPAs were good.

What a gem of a place!!! Beer is great, atmosphere great and lovley staff. We ordered Thai food and was a bit apprehensive. The food was delicious, we will definitely go again.

A wonderful pub located in a great place. It serves a small selection of drinks and the atmosphere here is fantastic. It has a small beer garden with a few tables for those sunny days. The food served here is brilliant and authentic Thai, some of the stuff on the menu will make you sweat - don't underestimate it!

The Old Kings Arms is absolutely everything a pub should be. Friendly, fun staff who care, proper pints of interesting beer, great Thai food & lovely quirky decor. It works just as well for us for an early family meal with our kids when we can’t be bothered to cook, as it does for an evening out with friends. I couldn’t recommend highly enough & feel really lucky to have such a good pub within walking distance.

Never received our food. When we complained we was lied too told our food would be sent back out. 2 hours after waiting some other customers food was brought to my house. After waiting 2 hours our food been delivered 30 houses down the street an us recieving someone else's food. We asked for our money back to be told they couldn't do that an to contact Uber eats!!! Shocking shocking service wouldn't even go for a pint here after that! Willing to increase revenue by using such apps as just eat n Uber but then not willing to take responsibility when things go wrong! It's all about the money to them not their customers.

Lovely classic British pub with all the great values that you’d expect in such a picturesque and homely neighbourhood. Friendly staff, decent pint, awesome food. My only wish is that there should be more places like it!

Bit of a shambles. The 1 bar person that there was was friendly enough although they tried to tell me I ordered something I didn't but sorted it quickly. I found it odd that the kids portions were bigger than the adults'. A tenner for a tiny bowl of, rather good, Thai food with no rice seems a bit over the top. Didn't order any drinks as they were extortionate. This place could be great. Responce to reply: We were able to read the drinks menu on the table and didn't fancy paying £4 for a pint of Taylor's. Saying that we didn't ask is just a cop out. Regarding the meal, I was well aware that there was no rice with the main because I asked you. I just think a tiny bowl of Thai curry for £10 is over priced. Good luck.

Been here a few times, very pleasant & welcoming atmosphere, good range of drinks too.

4/9/21 Only 3 real ales to choose from, that soon became 2 real ales as my choice became 'sorry it's just run out' . Separate gripe this why can't nobody change a barrel ? Barman was hardly rushed off his feet. The 40 mins we were there he only had 4 customers. He spent about 38 minutes playing with his phone. My secondary choice was Taylor's Landlord. I ordered 2 pints one for me and the other for my partner, who is a fan of the beer. £9 for 2 poor pints. We don't recommend this pub.

Very good pub at bottom end of Horsforth Town Street. Near council free car park. Smallish outdoor area. Large interior. Great choice of beers. Beware of ramp down when going to the toilet.

I'm not from the area but spent both Friday and Saturday night at this pub while visiting family recently and had a brilliant time! The DJ on the Friday night was playing classic soul, absolutely loved it. A band played on the Saturday night and the atmosphere was amazing, the place was packed and the band had everybody dancing - we had a ball! This pub will be my first stop next time I'm in the area, great night out.

Absolutely amazing Thai food, friendly service and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s been our local for 5 years and has never disappointed. Thankfully throughout lockdown they’ve offered Thai take out which has been a Saturday night saviour. Revisited tonight and it was spectacular as always. We’re moving house next week and sad that it will no longer be a 30 second walk away, but safe to say we’ll make the trip from Rawdon regularly. Long live the King’s!

Got a Thai takeaway for the first time. £41 for three of us, not cheap but it was lovely food. Will be coming back.

Booked a table here for a few drinks as we had already made dinner arrangements elsewhere but had I known this establishment was serving Thai we would have ate here... next time 😁 Anyhow the pub is covid secure with one way system , gel hand sanitizer etc , it is table service only and you can start a tab or pay per round electronically.. no cash. Staff were nice , seating comfortable and easygoing atmosphere.

We have just had a thai takeaway from The Old Kings Arms. It was outstanding!! Can't wait for the next one
