We dropped in here after seeing what Saundersfoot had to offer. It was dog friendly and the host was warm and welcoming. It was a Wednesday so Curry Club day but other food was available. I had a Beef Madras which tasted nice, all home cooked. It was not too spicy. My Wife had the Chilli Con Carne which she enjoyed. The home made chips were lovely as well. I had an IPA from the local Brewery which went down a treat. The venue had a country pub feel but it overlooked the beach and seafront. It was a little tired and dated but felt comfortable and cosy so no complaints.

Great price, poor quality...... Curry? No Indian spices. Just loads of pepper. Come on, chef? It looked great on the menu, but the (lamb) rogan josh wasn't even close. A disappointing experience!

Frozen fish, chips and peas and a glass of very off cloudy beer! We paid just under £19 each for this offering which was so disappointing. Wouldn't mind if they gave you a decent portion of the frozen chips but just a hand full and a few scrappy bits deftly hidden under the soggy fish. Not surprisingly we both had bad tummies the next morning!

We loved sitting in the garden overlooking the beach - well, sea as the tide was so high! It was lovely to sit and watch and listen to the waves crashing against the steps up to the courtyard. They had an excellent range of drinks and the food was delicious! We had the hake burger (a special) with seaweed butter, which was absolutely stunning! A fantastic atmosphere, beautiful location and good service!

What has happened to the Chemist since being taken over last year? the locals are no longer considered!!!! It used to be the only real Pub in the area which looked after its regular trade. Remember us from November till March??? Now they have increased the prices and withdrawn the loyalty benefits at the same time . The local draught beer tend to be very home brewish and usually flat. Best of luck when the holiday makers return home

The back garden on looks to the sea and has lovely views but we chose to sit on the inside. The place was very busy and what we did not anticipate was the long delay between ordering and our food being served. My wife ordered beer battered cod and I ordered Cajun chicken. The cod had far too much batter and the chips seemed to be multi fried as they were oily and on the dry side. In my opinion it appeared that they were short staffed and hence the delay in getting our food. The garden location of the inn has nice sea view. There was choice of local Harbawr beer. Would recommend this restaurant but personally would not go back in a rush other than to spend time in the garden area.

What a find this place was. We had a holiday flat 200 yards away and decided to give it a go for lunch.we managed to get a table just outside on the decking with the most perfect view. We ordered our lunch, my husband chose cawl I had cheese ploughman’s both were lovely. We were enjoying the sunshine and view so much we had another bottle of wine. Perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon on holiday. Only downside there wasn’t enough staff, the queue at the bar was manic, eventually staff that had been sitting outside went in to help the frazzled lady after she’d shouted is anyone going to help?!? That aside we will most definitely go back when we return to Saundersfoot.

Found this place while looking around Saundersfoot, blown away by the beer garden, it literally has a gate onto the beach. After our drink we went via the gate and walked back to our hotel across the beach. Returned following evening to have evening meal which was beautiful, hubby had burger and chips which he said was delicious, I had steak and Stilton pie and chips, also delicious. Harbwr inn was recommended for food but was fully booked, turned out the old chemist is now run by harbwr and serves the same food but in a lovely beer garden. In Wales this weekend you can still only eat outside. It' 9-12 degrees so the warmth of the welcome is what matters and this pub is doing everything it can to provide that - and deal with the huge number of people - who are out and about this holiday weekend. The garden is sheltered and right on the beach. The food is fine, the drinks come quickly. What's not to like!

We are staying in Saundersfoot on Sunday, 1st May and wanted to book a takeaway Sunday lunch. As we have eaten here before, I rang up on Saturday 24th April to enquire whether they would be offering a takeaway service. The lady who answered told me they hadn't decided yet and suggested I ring back the following Wednesday to check. I rang Wednesday lunch time and was told by the man who answered that they would be doing lunches on Sunday but that they hadn't yet done the menus and suggested I ring back later in the afternoon. I rang at the end of the afternoon and was told, "we are too busy to take any orders so ring back between eight and nine this evening. I promptly rang Harbwr who were extremely polite and efficient and promptly took my order for Sunday. Throughout this awful pandemic, I have had so much sympathy for the plight of pubs and restaurants but it appears that the staff at the Old Chemist don't want business. Perhaps they have enjoyed getting money for nothing through the furlough scheme for too long. Oh well, they have just lost over £100 worth of income. Well done!

Complete disregard for the whole covid situation. They allowed a group of easily a dozen men (plainly not from the same household, looked like a stag party) to sit together and wander around the beer garden completely unchecked. I visited the old chemist last weekend and was absolutely appalled by the customer service I received from two of the women that worked there. I can only remember the name of one, kim and another Burnett lady. She was extremely authoritative, this trait maybe good for someone in the army but for someone who is working in a "friendly" pub its not a good trait! She was so rude!!! she treated us like we were about 5/6 years of age, when in fact we were all around the age of 30. The other lady that I cant remember the name of was also very rude to one of my mates and made her leave the table which she was staying at to look after the drinks while her mates were going to the toilet. Instead of asking her to take the drinks outside politely, this rude lady moved the drinks with anger and told my friend to move now! Others in the pub saw this reaction and were also EXTREMELY shocked of the behavior of someone that worked there. We were planning on staying there a lot longer and having a few more drinks but as we were so pissed off with the customer service we left straight after the food. On a positive note, the food was good so kudos to the chief.

Full COVID protocols in place. Instructions given, meal and drinks orders taken before we sat down. All further drinks orders taken at the table. Meals came served in cardboard cartons, disposable wooden knives and forks with paper serviettes. Condiments were in sachets. Food came very quickly and was hot and tasty. I tried to book for 5 people the previous night but they don’t take bookings and operate on a first come first serve basis. We took a chance and had no trouble. We like the Old Chemist and when we come to Saundersfoot we always have a meal there. They have a good selection of beers and the food is good. Well this is not the usual type of visit, but they are open and providing a service which can only be positive in these strange times. Staff were friendly and efficient with excellent service. Lady who took our original orders was like a Sergeant Major but it was friendly instructions of “do’s and dont’s” which is necessary. Plenty of hand sanitiser. Well done Old Chemist!!

Quite a lively pub, fairly busy for a Sunday. The one thing I did notice was how quickly glasses were cleared, any glass with only a mouthful left was cleared away as soon as it was left unattended. My wife put her gin on the table to answer the phone, neither of us saw the glass go but a good measure of gin went missing, the barman was uninterested when asked about it. Time to leave we thought.

Clean friendly atmosphere good food and selection of beers wines etc. Great value for money. We had salmon mousse followed by cod and chips and lasagne. A beer and 3 glasses of wine all for less than fifty pounds!

Called in on a dull, rainy afternoon, it is a nice pub/ restaurant, good atmosphere, good choice of beers ,if it is sunny it is lovely to sit outside right by the beach, well worth a visit

Tapas was ok good selection and the portions were ok. Can't say it's the best I've had but a fair effort considering its part of a pub menu. Service is good staff very friendly.

We visited Saundersfoot whilst exploring and were recommended the old chemist inn for dinner. We hadn’t made any reservations so were pleased to be offered a table for 4 adults and 3 children even though it was on a lower floor. (The main floor overlooks the beach so we weren’t surprised that it was full!) the ales were lovely and the food was of a very good standard. Best of all the service was very impressive. The team of young waiters did themselves proud and served with a smile! nothing was too difficult and they even managed to find a phone charger for my friend. We really enjoyed our evening and want to thank the old chemist inn for their hospitality. Five ⭐️ stars

I used to go here on occasion while stationed at Brawdy. It was a great place to go after a session of surfing. I was saddened to hear that it recently suffered a fire.

Absolutely amazing food. Excellent service. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are friendly, chatty & helpful, and it’s clean. Definitely recommend the coronation chicken, cheese salad. Hubby had baked spud first time which he enjoyed & baguette 2nd time each he enjoyed. And the cakes WOW!! I will miss the carrot cake which I highly recommend & the custard slice is just as amazing. The cost is brilliant too. Thanks you Phillys Baguettes

Ordered two crab sandwiches latte and a beer, £35. Staff need a pick me up or it’s been a hard season. The crab sandwich was good, spoonful of coleslaw, frozen chips. Was told to help myself to a glass for the beer, everyone looked not properly washed, picked the cleanest but still had bubbles down inside indicating grease. Latte was tasteless. Not a pleasant experience won’t be back.
