The Old Bell at Warminster in Wiltshire

Staying here for three nights Cracking hotel, young lady on reception couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. First night I had the best Thai sweet and sour chicken that I’ve probably ever had. Room warm, clean and cleaned daily. The lovely man in charge of breakfast was really helpful re the location especially. Breakfast set us up for the day. We would definitely come here again Place full of history and only eight minutes from Longleat safari park

Group of 14 went 4 mothers day lunch. Food was very good, staff were lovely and served a VERY busy restaurant with permanent smiles. Unfortunately not all the required meals were still available. Suggest that if you have a large group, give the pub a list of attendees and their menu choices in advance. We did this recently for our group and everything went very smoothly.

Arrived in Warminster quite early. Very please to find this quaint restaurant open for breakfast. Will definitely return.

Overpriced.Especially when they get your order wrong try to charge you extra for taking peas off and beans on.Also don’t pay the automatically added 10 percent service charge unless it’s worth it.Wont go back again.

Best cheese and pickle sandwich in England? Probably. What a great experience for a couple of travellers to walk into the Old Bell at Warminster. It was just a quick pit stop so why bother with a review? Because the staff were wonderful. Friendly and engaging. The ale was excellent (as if 6X could be anything other) and the food was absolutely spot on. If it was not for the fact that we had other plans it would have been great to stay a night and get the full experience. Thank you for a pub lunch that really hit the spot!

After a stressful few weeks, I arrived at the Old Bell Inn to the warmest welcome. A couple nice pints of ale, delicious food and a friendly service that was beyond any expectations. The stress was forgotten in no time. This is my regular stay now when I’m working in the area.

Our stay at the Old Bell Inn was perfect: clean rooms, excellent food and great service. James, Kevin and the team were responsive and informative ahead of our visit, answering questions and supporting our needs via phone, and flexible throughout our stay, adapting breakfast timings and restaurant reservations to our tight schedule. Communication with the team is easy and pleasant, and the atmosphere in the pub is cosy and welcoming. Just what we were looking for. Thanks!

Stayed for just one night, would have been v happy to have stayed longer. Great room, comfortable bed, all very clean. Staff welcoming and helpful. Free parking. Price great and well kept beer on handpump...what's not to like!

Superb pub and hotel. James, Kevin and the team were outstanding. We only stayed only for the night but we could have stayed much longer, a real home from home. The beer and wine before dinner was beautiful. The 6x was delicious, the new Zealand sav sublime. We had the Thai tasting menu. It was superb, fresh and tasty. We were served by a new member of the team who put a smile and our faces with her enthusiasm and kindness. James you have a good one there. Well done everyone. We loved it.

Waited an hour from ordering for any food and it was not busy! Sunday roast was not great and mixed selection only had 2 of the 3 meats on offer. 1 Dessert order incorrect and had to be replaced. Beer was excellent!

Popped in for breakfast it stated on a sign outside that breakfast was served until eleven it was half ten. When I asked if they were still serving breakfast I was mumbled at . We were shown a table and given a menu. The person serving said they did guests breakfasts until half nine sit had been cleared down. When I asked for poached eggs he rolled his eyes I offered to have whichever was easier but he said it’s fine I just have to wait for the pan of water to boil. Several times I heard him moaning that he had cleaned down when others requested breakfast. If this is the case don’t have it on a sign saying breakfast until eleven. I think he was trying to be funny but he just came across as rude. The poached eggs were overcooked but the rest of the breakfast was ok.

What a place, good good including the best Thai for miles around. Picture perfect pub inside with log fires, lots of wood, great drinks, sensible prices, and fab staff. I will return!

My son and his girlfriend Stayed over Xmas in a superior room, this room was not fit to be used at all. Large stains on carpet and headboard. Cobwebs, light didnt work, hairdryer had smoke coming out. Duvet didn't fit the bed, bathroom door stuck, shower blocked and flooded, mould on shower tray. All in all just nasty. Spoke to hotel next morning, they wanted me to pay more to move to another room, seriously! They did nothing but exchange hairdryer, had no spare duvets so I had to provide blankets as the duvet was too small for the bed. This was Xmas day! Staff said to write to complain but you get no response, written twice. This ruined our Xmas, as a local I was embarrassed. This cost nearly 500 part of my Xmas treat for them. Truly shocking. It's not fit for habitation this room and needs a deep clean.

What a great find in Warminster, right in the high street, with parking behind the accommodation itself. We had a lovely warm welcome from Jen when we arrived, and when we ordered food, Sam was equally as nice. Thank you both for such good people skills. The food was very nice, tasty, and hot (Thank you to the people behind the scenes who cooked it). we got here early for dinner but enjoyed sitting by the fire waiting for the kitchen to open for service, taking in the lovely festive decorations and warm fire. When we finished our food the place was beginning to get busy so I recommended booking. The Old Bell is certainly a place i would stop off at again.

We decided to pop in for some Thai food. for our first meal out since moving to Warminster on Monday. The food was great, but the real standout was the amazing customer service. All the staff members were very personable, professional and super attentive. What a fantastic first impression. Highly recommend!!!

Nice pub and hotel friendly and helpful staff

This was a lucky last-minute booking after arriving at an AirBnB, which looked nice, with goid reviews, but it was in a dirty and disgusting state. We cancelled and started looking for alternative accommodation at 4.00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon in August, so we weren't too optimistic.... Fortunately The Old Bell was not too far away and had a nice comfortable room available. It is historic and a great place to stay. It was very clean, the staff were lovely and the food was excellent. There's also a Thai restaurant on the premises. It's only a few minutes' drive from Longleat, and we'll book again for a trip later this year when the Light festival is on.

Had a beer and lunch here. Had a lovely ham sandwich which was good value. Staff are polite, helpful and friendly. Though a little disorganised. I think table numbers would help staff out. Court yard is very nice. Hotel as lots of history. Definitely would go back.

Very comfortable hotel bar. The Wadsworth cask beers were very well kept.

A lovely hotel with a great history! Our room was just right for the the two of us with a lovely comfy bed. Being in the centre of Warminster was ideal too.

Beautiful old space. Private entrance, even though the pub closes quite early.

Lovely food , service , very friendly staff

Checked in to friendly polite staff. Really surprised how good the food was. I chose from the Thai menu. Excellent. Off to a warm room and bed. Room a little tired but bed and sheets along with towels fresh. Perfect.
