It was a Birthday dinner for my daughter, her friends and parents. My daughter and her friends all have special needs. The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and looked after us very well. No issues with the food which was brought in a timely manner. The staff again were fantastic bringing out the cake, singing and providing bowels with ice cream etc. Everyone really enjoyed it. Thank you very much.

Jonnys Sundays dinners are unreal like normal, can't wait to come back

It was expensive for a glass of wine, considering the area. The wine however was nice, it's a nice pub, comfortable. The place filled up quickly with people coming for the weekly quiz. Food was lovely

Called in for an evening meal and found plenty of space to choose a table. Drinks and food were served very swiftly and by friendly staff.

We went with my son and his two daughters for his 40th birthday party, not a fantastic choice for a 40th but it was convenient for him and his children. It cost £55 for three adult meals two childrens meals and soft drinks/ coffe so not to bad. However, my wife had breaded scampi and chips which was bland. I had vegetable Thai style curry which was very small and left me feeling hungry. There were a small amount of vegetable but mostly sauce and the crackers were the size of large pease (about 8 of them). If you bother to go stick to the burgers. We will not be going back I would rather go to another well known budget pub/ restaurant chain.

Been today with wife & mother in law. We go probably once a fortnight and always enjoyed. The food is good and the service always excellent. However, today mother in law had fish & chips. About a third of her fish was ‘burnt’. She was obviously pretty disappointed. On clearance the server asked if we enjoyed our food. On telling her the fish was burnt the lass said “the fish is very thin & it can’t be helped “ sore but that is a poor excuse so we left pretty unhappy. So basically, don’t have the fish & chips. The food was cooked to perfection. My partner had surf and turf. He asked for rare steak and it was perfect! My cowboy burger was amazing. So much flavour. We had dessert too and again it was so tasty. It was our 1st time but we will be back!

My partner & I came rather late on the 27th and a man in a red shirt was more than welcoming despite wanting food 30minutes before they stopped but this was not a problem for them which we appreciated. The man in the red shirt checked our meals were all good and if we needed anything else he would be there. Never had such good customer service anywhere, thank you

Food was great - hot and very tasty - staff were very polite and helpful and dealt quickly with any queries. Nice to have vegan options which were a bit different to the "usual nut roast" offered elsewhere. A lovely day. Thank you.

Alway's very good service and great food. Joanne's pizza with Santa today was amazing we went with our grandchildren they had fun making their own pizza's, they had a colouring competion, a quiz, bingo, parcel parcel then finally Santa came to each child and gave them a gift!. We regularly come here: this is just the first time we have thought to post a review. The atmosphere is convivial and welcoming, the staff are very friendly and efficient, and the food is never a disappointment. We come here on days which suit our lifestyle commitments but we always try to avail ourselves of the Friday night 'fish and fizz' special. It's a busy wee venue ( which speaks volumes in itself) but one which we have come to regard as a fixture in our weekly calendar. We rate it really highly. We've tried nearby ' grander' places (read Morpeth and its environs) which are in essence pretentious establishments, where cut-glass syllables echo from the very walls, and where we're invariably charged a sizeable premium for food which isn't in any way superior to that which is supplied here. All told, we just feel at home in these friendly, well-catered surrounds.

We have just moved in to the area although know it well as my better half used to work in Ashington. Decided to try here an we weren't disappointed. I had the gammon and the better half had a special burger. Both meals were excellent. The prices are about the norm for pub main meals so can't grumble. The young man that greeted us was friendly but not pushy. We will be back. Thank you

The culinary experience of chef jonny really stands out, I had a ham and pineapple pizza. The sauce the cheese ratio was on point. The pineapple was unbelievable. I'll be back!

Always enough meal as the old ash dene, the kids love the machines and the park and I have mobility issues so it's easily accessible for me although you could do with some more disabled parking spaces as the two are always full. Meals good quality and tasty

Popped in for a bite to eat and an over due catch up with a friend. Food was very tasty with large portion size and really good value for money. Staff were very friendly and accommodating especially Joanne the manager. Highly recommend a visit for food and drinks. As an added bonus I could also take my two dogs with me as they are dog friendly.

Visited recently for the fab quiz night and had a meal and drinks with family. We all enjoyed our meals of steak, pizzas and mac and cheese and all were very generous portoins not to mention very reasonably priced. We have frequented the old ash dene quiz nights for a few years now and are always made to feel very welcome especially by Jo the assistant manager who is always happy to chat and is so bright and bubbly, nothing is too much bother. A great pub with a great friendly atmosphere.

The Old Ash Dene has been a place i would go with my family it’s very spacious, clean the pizzas are far the best and not forgetting the staff they always make you feel welcome.Especially Jo she will do her up most to go out her way and help you. My last visit was in Aid of the Royal British Legion quiz night and Jo and her team hosted and donated some fabulous prizes. It’s certainly a family friendly restaurant and I highly recommend you visit.

I regularly go to the old ash dene and the food never disappoints! I recently had my daughters 1st birthday there and I can’t thank the staff enough for making it so special. Joanne in particular was so lovely and helpful from start to finish. She booked out an area for me months in advance, she arranged the area and also provided an incredible buffet. Joanne went above and beyond to make the day special! I would also like to mention Luke. He has always made us feel so welcome and his customer service is second to none! Both of these staff members are an absolute asset and the reason we return to this pub!

We’ve enjoyed lots of meals in the Old As Dene in Ashington Northumberland for many occasions and we’ve spent the last 3 years celebrating the New Year in with friends. The staff are fantastic especially Joanne McKenna who creates a lovely warm atmosphere for every customer who visits. We’ll be returning soon .
