Pizzaiolo in Northumberland

On holiday in the area and thought we’d try here, the pizzas were excellent, the best takeaway pizzas we’ve had. The stuffed crust was also really tasty. Big portion sizes too

I do believe this it definitely the best pizza place in Berwick upon Tweed. Full of flavour and the bases are perfectly cooked. Not at all greasy unlike other stores. I defo be buy my pizzas from her on treat nights. 👍😋

Fantastic pizza. Family feast deal, ready in half an hour. Fresh pizzas made in a proper oven! Tasted amazing! Although we collected, they do deliver, and even had a map of the Haven caravan site behind the counter, suggesting they’ll deliver to your caravan too if needed.

Ordered take away,after one hour I called they asked for me to repeat my address to them. Five minutes later the most delicious banquet arrived. Not only more food than we expected But even cheaper than the most polite lady on the phone had first quoted. Thank you.

We were on holiday near Berwick-on-Tweed last week and wanted a takeaway! We weren’t disappointed at all! The staff were friendly and the pizzas superb. I had a thin crust sweet chilli and my hubby had a sizzler, they were delicious! Absolutely restaurant quality and I so wish I lived nearer so I could eat them more often! Thank you guys 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Amazing food and service! Rang up to order the family feast meal deal - my boyfriend got the 14” pollo pollo with barbecue sauce, I ordered the gluten free prosciutto cotto with added anchovies and pepperoni. We also got pepperoni and mozzarella dough balls, cheesy chips and a big bottle of Diet Coke as they had no small cans alongside all sauces excluding normal mayo. The food was amazing! They even delivered straight to our caravan. My pizza looked like it had been made from scratch and tasted beautiful, can tell staff really love what they do. Both pizzas were so tasty, loved every bite! Never had a better gluten free pizza in my life. Boyfriend says his pizza was delicious also! Dough balls were a pizza in a ball - exactly what he expected and asked for; delicious! I loved the cheesy chips also. Would definitely recommend this place and will be ordering again soon, worth every penny!

Hello. I came in for a New Yorker, as I had been informed that the taste of said New Yorker was something so exquisite, it has to be experienced to be believed. However, when I arrived I was met with the most intense and disturbing attitude from a girl called Tareen. She complimented my leather (real) shoes before calling me greedy for ordering 4 New Yorkers for myself (I get hungry fast, you see). Out of every fine establishment I have visited, this is the worst (I have been to Birmingham New Street Station before). I have been to low class kebab shops ran by council estate shams before.

We phoned the order in and waited an hour before we could collect, it was a Saturday so busy. When I collected they had given us white choc dough balls instead of large fries, it was clear by their response that they weren’t going to change the order so I paid for fries too. On the plus side The pizza was amazing and so were the dough balls tbh but not what we wanted.

Opening hours innaccurate. Came at 21:22 and despite the open hours clearly stating that they were open until 10pm,the door was locked. Staff, still inside, just stared at me through the window. Unimpressed.

This used to be an outstanding pizza take a way but this time it was very disappointing. Perhaps ownership has changed but the staff appeared to be completely different to my last visit. The issues started with the person who took the order who came across as being completely disinterested in what they were doing. The pizzas themselves were overcooked, tasted very gritty and the filling separated completely from the base. It wins the prize for the worst pizzas that we have had - ever.

Stopped on the off chance for a single pizza after a recommendation but after 40 minutes of waiting had to ask whether my order had been put into the system. Low and behold " yours is next". Hmmmmm! Wasn't enamoured by an individual seemingly called "Ginge" who incessantly sprawled himself over the bar, coughing onto the food preparation area. Disappointed that there wasn't more care taken about hygiene. Pizza was binned.

Amazing food. Ordered from here on the first night of our holiday and the pizza was honestly one of the best I've had. Fresh toppings, very cheesy stuffed crust, and all the sides were incredible too. Great prices and fast delivery.. all around top notch, couldn't ask for better.

We were staying in Berwick for a short holiday and found this fantastic pizza place by chance. Top marks for everything. Really good value for what you get and totally delicious pizzas. Recommend the Woodsman - soooo good! Thank you :)

Honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had, including Italian restaurants. Ridiculously good value for money! Next time we’re in the area would definitely order again, in fact I might come back just for the pizza.

Best pizza shop I’ve ever been to

Myself and daughter found this pizza shop by chance as we were passing through Berwick. We bought 2 x 9" pizza and chips. How we regretted not buying the largest size though as we both agreed our respective choices (pepperoni & anchovy) were about the best, most tasty pizzas we had ever eaten. Would highly recommend. And when you go, buy the biggest you can. Or 2! Then have the 2nd one the next day! Seriously, amazing grub 😋

Was staying at haggerston castle and we were a group of 8 people wanting something better than the overpriced generic pizza that was offered on site . After a bit of looking I had seen the reviews on this place and some pictures of freshly made pizzas we all decided to go ahead and order . We ordered on a Wednesday which was buy 1 pizza get another half price absolutely perfect for us hungry lot . In total we ordered 8 pizzas , 2 lots of dough balls , 2 portions of cheesy chips a normal portion of chips and a oreo milkshake. I placed the order at opening time and 20 minutes later it was ready to go and on the journey back I could see the pizzas were steaming hot . I opened my pizza box I ordered the prosciutto cotto I was taken aback at how well presented and how fresh it was cooked to perfection with each bite giving a different flavour profile . I then proceeded to open the chips which were just generic fries but were well seasoned and with plenty cheese on top although I would say that these chips would definitely serve 2 people . All in all we were very satisfied and when visiting this area again will definitely be a returning customer

Proper take away pizza made from fresh dough at very reasonable prices. Shop is always immaculate. Definitely recommended. We have tried other pizza sellers in Berwick when this has been closed. Frankly don't bother. If they are closed just give up on pizza.

Great Pizza made in the oven in front of me in about 10 minutes flat. Life saver after a long day at work. Didn't last the half hour drive home in the truck! Five stars 👍

We decided to pop-in to order pizza to-go after hearing rave reviews from recommended places to eat in Berwick. The staff were pleasant enough and the bill was surprisingly reasonable. The pizzas were absolutely gorgeous; we ordered the Prosciutto Cotto ( 12" calzone) and The Godfather (12" stuffed crush). The food was delicious and we will definitely be visiting again next time we are in Berwick.

Ordered family feast deal to collect, pizza was amazing, really good quality, good range of pizza flavours available, garlic dip was really nice. Good value, would visit again if in the area.

Pizza was cold and tasteless, comparable to a supermarket pizza. To top this off it took an hour and a half to arrive to us. Tasted like a frozen pizza heated up.

Visited last night. Had the family feast offer. 2 pizzas, 2 sides and dips. It was delicious. Garlic dip amazing. Portions good size and great value for money.

First time in Berwick and first time having quality fresh pizza and it the best pizza I've ever had. Domino's doesn't even come close to this place. Thanks guys for restoring my faith in take aways. If I could give 10 stars I would. Unbeatable and very cheap for the quality of food.

Freshly made using proven dough in a fire pizza oven. The 12" pizza with ice cream was more than enough for 2. Very clean and friendly.

Tried pizza from here few years ago and was nice , tried other day again and was lovely reasonably priced pizza oven cooked pizzas very nice staff , our pizzas were lovely pepperoni and fresh chillies on and some fries which were also nice . . Picked up for opening time just as they were coming out of the oven . . . Will order again . . .

Brilliant pizza and great service. We got the family deal which was 2 large pizzas, 2 sides and 2 dips. The sides were a decent size and fed us all. The pizzas are fresh wood fired and really nice. Would strongly recommend, especially if you are on the Haven site and drive to pick them up.

Very good pizza at reasonable price, I’m told the chips were good too, garlic dip also nice for the crust. The only thing I would say is they could do with investing in an online ordering system - you have to call and seems like luck whether you get through. Also we are big milkshake fans but found these to have a bit of an odd taste.

Amazing taste and combinations. And I can't believe that a pizzeria can sold out all the dough they made for that day.... but it happened here. Only 4 out of 5 people from the family were able to order the last pizzas. So worth it 👌 🤤

Pizza - pish (cheap sauce for its base) Milkshake (4/5* - was impressive for the price) Chips (4/5* - impressive portion size and decent taste) Would choose Greggs Pizza over this pizza but would happily go back for chips and shake.

We ordered pizza and chips to be delivered to our caravan and the food was delicious. I would recommend ordering from here for food and even better they deliver to your caravan.

Updated review: disgusting food & service. Order was also wrong, tried to phone to resolve but couldn’t get through after multiple tries. Really disappointed as used to love this place. Won’t be coming back. Made a wee mistake with my order, gave them a phone and they brought the correct item near enough straight away! Great customer service & food

Really delicious pizza. There's usually a bit of a wait (or longer), but it's worth it - people obviously know good pizza when they find it.

While the pizza was delicious, we were waiting for 2hrs and 15minutes for the delivery. I understand that it can get bit busy at times, but this was by far the longest I ever had to wait for a food delivery. As soon as the football (Ukraine - England) has finished, the delivery arrived (perhaps the driver was a big fan?)!!! 😂

Here on holiday, and found Pizzaiolo through Trip Advisor, well worth it's high rating. Phoned up to order a family feast and was told to come at 6pm, and they were spot on with the collection time. Food was all great and £22.50 for 2 12 inch pizzas, 2 sides, 2 dips and a large bottle of diet coke was great value.

Camping down the road, this was a perfect find. Amazing pizzas.

Had a selection of three pizzas from here and everyone was incredible! The quality of the pizzas was very similar to those you find in Naples which is a massive achievement. Ordered this on a rainy night to our apartment and they also deliver locally so didn't even need to leave the house, great service.

If you want to go One hour wait may not be to some peoples taste for a takeaway but I decided to wait. Placed order and sat outside in the car waiting, went inside 45 and told 10ins before my order was ready !!! 10 min later sorry no Hoisin duck left !!! Now bearing in mind they have two chefs preparing good you'd think one might let the till staff taking orders know, then told me I could reorder and it would be 25 minutes, I don't think so, money refunded and went Q Kurish takeaway down the road which was hot tasty and fresh.

One of the best takeaway pizzas I've ever had. Cooked in a traditional stone based oven with fresh tasting ingredients. Highly recommended the "Meathead". Prices are also really good for the quality tasting food you get.

Food was delicious, however the food was a little undercooked and waiting times were extended beyond those originally quoted. The staff were exceptionally busy and trying their best to meet demand. I can imagine if it wasn't as busy it would have undoubtedly been 5 stars.

We tried this place when staying in a hotel in Berwick. Pre-order by phone. Pay on collection. Very friendly. Food ready on time. Inventive toppings. Good size (options available). very filling. Well made. Good thin bases. Would definitely try it again.

Perfect Pizzas, ready very quickly due to proper Italian oven (gas fired though), very skillful Pizzaiolo created a very thin even base, appropriate amount of topping (few fresh basil leaves on each pizza at the end and dollops of mozzarella rather than grated mozzarella would by only 2 suggestions. The anchovies on Napoli version were exactly like in Naples. Will come again when driving on A1. Incredibly cheap for the quality and craftsmanship

Not only is the pizza delicious, but also AMAZING value especially the ‘Just for Two’ deal for £10; 9 inch pizza, 2 drinks and dough balls (with dips) or fries. Absolute bargain! We have tried both the sizzler and the godfather and highly recommend both....

If you have any respect for yourself, you will buy pizza from Pizzaiolo. I am a pizza obsessive and have been making pizza myself for 15 years. I have eaten pizza all over the world and this genuinely ranks as some of the best. Really good value too.

Very tasty and authentic Italian pizza

Pizzaiolo recently did the evening catering for our wedding. Nothing was too much to ask, 50 large pizzas of all flavours plus a few for different dietary requirements all delivered still hot a few miles outside of Berwick. The pizzas tasted great and the guests loved them!I don't know how pizzaiolo pulled it off but they did. Brilliant job, thanks very much!

The Food Here Is Out Of This World. We Wanted Something A Little More Upper Class Than Your Average Takeaway And Pizzaiolo Dilevered Exactly This. 10/10

We saw reviews for piazzola and thought we would try it during our trip. Safe to say we have been left disappointed. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait, which is fully expected on a busy Saturday night, but was in fact nearly 50 minutes and we came home to find our pizza was cold. While the pizza was freshly cooked and in fact tasty, we prefer to have our pizzas above room temperature.

Very friendly staff, delicious dough balls and milkshakes. Pizza was nice, I enjoyed it (my partner not as much), and I'll eat here again if I'm the area. Some meathead blocked me in for about 5 minutes with his blacked out range rover out the front, but that wasn't the fault of Pizzaiolo!! If staying at Pot-a-Doodle-Do, it's very convenient!

Having read a few reviews I was initially hesitant to order for delivery. Complaints of it taking a long time to deliver and complaints about the quality.When I called the young lady made it clear that the delivery time was likely to be an hour or more. As it turned out it was closer to two hours. Now usually this would result in a negative review. However....We ordered the family feast mea deal which cost £22.50 - for this you get two 12” pizza, two side and four dips as well as a bottle of coke. This I feel is a great deal.We ordered a Garden Party and a Woodsman pizza, a garlic bread with cheese and Mozzarella dough balls.The pizzas were fantastic, one of the best pizza bases I have ever had. But, and isn’t there always a but!Here goes - the dough balls were the best I’ve ever had. There are lots of places up and down the country that make dough balls and they are all sub standard when compared to Pizzaiolo. I can’t stress how good they are.So in a nutshell - it can take a time to deliver, but by golly it’s worth the wait.Would I order again? Yes!
