The food and service is great here- been a few times now. The pizza is always delicious, but the small plates really stand out. The menu changes frequently as well so there is always something new to try.

I’ve visited Bawn a couple of times now and also ordered takeout and every time it has been amazing. The pizzas are delicious and the small plates offer so much variety. The Caesar salad is a must!!!!!! The restaurant offers a great selection of wine and the service is always lovely. Definitely recommend!

Had a fab meal here, the food was absolutely gorgeous. We went with the intentions of getting a pizza each, but after talking to the Waiter he recommended a couple of side plates and a pizza to share. We chose the caesar salad and the padron peppers for the starting dishes, both of which were amazing. One of the nicest caesar salads I have ever eaten. This was more than enough food for two people, and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was decorated very well, and had a nice chill vibe inside, thanks for a great meal.

High class food and service. The food is made with top ingredients and the dishes have interesting combinations which we loved. Service is classy but not too much. Excellent selection of drinks. Décor and lighting is excellent

I’ve been hoping for a great pizza in the area for a long time and finally it has arrived. This is not just a pizza joint though. The small plates superb. We hoped these guys would pivot to a more accessible concept. They have and they’ve nailed it!

Small plates and pizza. The food is lovely. Not your regular high street fare but thoughtful and considered dishes. Highlights were the anchovy and chilli crisp bread, the deep fried olives stuffed with nduja and the courgette pizza. However that’s doing a bit of a disservice to everything else as it was all good. If you want something other than ham and pineapple pizza give it a go, it really is excellent.

We’ve literally just left and I just couldn’t wait to leave a review! Stephen kindly found us a table after a quick phone call from around the corner - which was very nice of him on a busy Friday at 7.30pm! We ordered a glass of cava each, which was lovely and had the charcuterie selection and anchovy cracker bread to start. They came out separately, which was actually really nice as it gave you a chance to savour each dish. The anchovy crackerbread…there are no words… please never take this off the menu! It was absolutely divine! (I will definitely be trying the anchovy pizza next time, as one of Stephen’s other recommends!) The Nduja and Margherita pizzas were incredible - the pizza sauce is clearly homemade and so sweet and tomato-ey it stands out by itself. These aren’t your typical “heavy cheese” pizzas if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s all about the fresh ingredients and the dough - we’re both floating home incredibly satisfied and happy at our luck eating here tonight! We also got the salsa verde and smoky garlic mayonnaise dips and again, both were incredible, clearly homemade and complimented the pizzas fantastically (as Stephen said they would!!) We will definitely be back and hope to be regular visitors in the future after such a fantastic experience tonight!

The very best restaurant in Ponteland. The atmosphere is glorious. You’d feel welcome going to Bawn for a glass of wine, wine and a plate, or a full three course meal! I couldn’t recommend this highly enough. Fabulous service, fabulous food, fabulous atmosphere

We had dinner here recently, the pizzas were excellent but the small plates were something else. Thoroughly recommended, nice ambiance, quality ingredients, just need some ciders on the menu for perfection 😉

First time tonight and my wife and I found this restaurant to be very nice. The food was tasty and different. I'd never have thought you could fry olives. But they did and it was a nice surprise. We chose a few small plates with a pizza which was just as I like a pizza to be cooked. It was busy for an early evening. I would definitely give it a recommend. Good service in a nice atmosphere.

We missed it when it was Eleven. The pizzas are nice, but the small plates stood out. There is parking nearby and the service is great. - Chilli butter cracker: Amazing. I’d eat a whole pizza worth. - Shetland mussel fritti with lovage: Breading is dense and floury. A lighter batter would work better. - Pizzas: Like a brown bread pizza. It’s not got the type of crisp and bite as a New York style or the fluffiness of a Neopolitan, but it’s unique. We had the nduja and honey pizza as well as the Sausage. Flavours were great although it was a bit light on cheese. It was £15/£16 a pizza so a small premium over the Newcastle places. Was tempted by the tiramisu but it was £9. I’d say maybe split a pizza and go for more small plates.

Going to bawn is a different experience to an everyday restaurant. There is not a single dish or even dip on the menu that hasn't clearly been considered analysed and improved. The amount of care over each dish is evident. This is to the point where their garlic mayo is simply the best I've ever tasted. I couldn't recommend them more. Don't come here expecting a normal Italian, go expecting quality considered food served in a beautiful and chilled environment.
