Best meat from any Chinese nearby.. only thing I would love added to menu is proper bbq sauce not gravy they could have both. Always freshly cooked also 😋

Went in and ordered some salt and chilli chicken, chips and tub of sauce. 99% convinced they were reheats from the night before as it had not long opened, chicken was dry, hard and chewy, chips definitely not fresh and the sauce almost a congealed like quality, they must think folk are daft. By the time I got home I simply could not be bothered to have to go back out again and return it and I really should not need too ! Second time in as many months I’ve been left disappointed by here so I simply will not use it again. If they can’t even get very basic food fresh and tasty that’s a big red flag for me. Sick of takeaways thinking they can save money by reusing and palm off the night before’s food as reheats and having the sheer audacity to think customers won’t notice, well it will cost them in the long run as they have now lost my custom and certainly will never recommend and I suspect many others will follow suit. They can deny all they want but I know what a reheat tastes like and I know 100% that’s what they do as worked in this industry for many years. It’s a crying shame that Broxburn and Uphall lack a good quality decent fresh and tasty Chinese. It all went downhill when New Happiness shut up shop. Thankfully we have The Dine, amazing Indian food and can taste how fresh it is, exactly how it should be. Most other takeaways in this area could learn a thing or 2 from these guys.

Possibly the worst Chinese in Western Civilisation

Maybe food is good? I don't know because is cash only! Another one with a middle-age attitude! And by the way lady that cannot speak English pretending she's not understanding spoken language? No sorry. I be star is far too much !

I've ate out of there twice in the last year and both times got food poisoning. Ive no idea how this place has a 4.4 star review.

I can't sing The Ocean's praises enough! Food is always delicious and arrives quickly and piping hot. The staff I've spoken with are all lovely too. Truly the best Chinese in Broxburn!

Lovely chips and amazing chicken fried rice

This was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Raw onions, rubbery chicken swimming in the most appalling Curry sauce. Chicken wings!! Think they really mean chicken bones. Avoid !!!

Been going to this Chinese for over 35 years. The Families that owned & worked in it are very friendly and the portions are very good. It has now been taken over by new people however the FOOD is Still The Same and Delicious 😋

Decent place, food was all good. The pancake rolls had plenty of meat in them. Some places skip the meat to save money but not here. Enjoyed the ribs as well, chop suey could have had a thicker sauce but that's a personal thing. Chop suey isn't really a genuine dish in China anyway. Good place.

Quick service. The green pepper black bean sauce dishes are very nice.id steer clear of the lemon chicken, the sauce is good but the chicken was dry last and only time I had it.

So disappointed, reheated batter and chewing gum prawns! Watered down sauce! Delivery guy asked for £10, I was told £9.40 on the phone, I'd have gladly given a tip, I always do, but when I queried him, he didn't have change! Tryed to call but no reply! Iv used this place for over 30 years! Johnny would be disgusted at this, iv not eaten it, ready for collection, if they bother to reply!!?

Hadn't had a meal from here in ages , now I'm wondering WHY ? Lovely fresh tasty food , delivered in zip time and piping hot excellent.

Very picky regarding my choice of Chinese takeaways following a couple of disasters! The Ocean, however, really are the best at what they do - in terms of service and quality of food! Would highly recommend - particularly the chicken sweetcorn soup - really warms you up on a cold day!

First time I can assure you that it will be the last the food is tasteless chilli chips would have been as well getting a ordinary bag of chips and saved a pound only gave it on star and that is for the size of the beef curry all said it was rubbish won’t be back 👎

Haven't had much out of here, but I liked what I did have, and others with me liked theirs too.

ordered chips with fried rice and explicitly requested no egg in the rice but realised half way through it was in fact egg fried rice. stopped eating and phoned the ocean to complain and all the lady said was she wrote no egg. now feeling unwell as I don't eat egg/dairy so I won't be ordering again.

I don't know if the owners have changed or there's a new chef but the food isn't as good as it used to be. My curry was tasteless and prawn crackers were damp. My bbq spare ribs were not in the normal bbq sauce god knows what sauce it was. The chips were ok. Half of it went in bin. Only reason I didn't return it is because inwas too tired after a very long day to even get back up of the couch. Wont be back after this sorry. Used to love the ocean aswell
