Nicest oatcakes I’ve had in a good while as a local never knew it was there food was gorgeous totally spotless parking is a struggle but a few hundred yard walk would be well worth the end product knocks spots off the bigger names and will defo be making it my number1 go to brekkie place make it yours 👍🏻👍🏻

Lovely oatcakes, friendly staff, warm welcome. Double cheese and bacon. So good we immediately went back and bought another!

Friendly service, great oatcakes freshly prepared and amazing prices. My favourite thing though is that you don't put your lovingly prepared oatcake in a plastic bag so it sweats and goes like stodgy porridge. Worth driving past all the others to come here. Thank you.

I don’t think you could receive a friendlier welcome in this shop, the staff are always smiling! I have been buying my oatcakes from here for years and they are the best in the area and the pikelets are exceptional! Don’t buy supermarket oatcakes drive here and buy them, you won’t be disappointed!

Always lovely service from Helen and her staff, with great tasting oatcakes (not like the cardboard, supermarket versions)! Wouldn't go anywhere else.

When your daughter comes home from a school trip to Switzerland and first thing she asks for is warm buttered oatcakes you know how good they are. Oatcakes plain or filled are delicious. Helen is lovely and since moving in to area we have been going weekly.

If they ate their own food would they still serve it? First you take a nice fresh crispy oatcake, add a hot filling then wrap it in plastic to sweat. It's like eating bacon and sausage porridge by the time you open it. It gets worse, as the soggy substance has no structure and some bright spark has decided to slice the sausage into rings it all falls out into your lap or o to your shoes. I don't know any other oatcake shop that does this, are they trying to be posh? The whole mushy mess went in the bin.

Found it be very salty Tongue was on fire with a MILD curry sauce Sadly after 10 mouthfuls had to chuck away .. mouth on fire

Pretty grim food, the fish was slimy and undercooked, and the chips not that warm. It's not the chippy it used to be.

Used to be the best around. Very inconsistent these days. Occasionally you'll be lucky and the food will be delicious, Occasionally terrible but mostly just average. I used to be regular, best I can tell is, the change came when they started to let the serving staff cook chips etc. Years ago this was done mostly by the guys who I assumed run the place. The place is always busy but that's not always the mark of excellence some think it to be. The busyness often leads to chips being pulled out way too early leaving the chips looking anaemic af and hard and crunchy (not in the good way) and also, they have got a (often empty) ATM but it is infuriating that they wont take chip and pin. Give your customers what they want ffs. - Staff friendly when spoken to but as others have said, often seen mocking and speaking about customers behind their backs etc. I've stopped going now.
