High Lane Oatcakes in Stoke-on-Trent

If they ate their own food would they still serve it? First you take a nice fresh crispy oatcake, add a hot filling then wrap it in plastic to sweat. It's like eating bacon and sausage porridge by the time you open it. It gets worse, as the soggy substance has no structure and some bright spark has decided to slice the sausage into rings it all falls out into your lap or o to your shoes. I don't know any other oatcake shop that does this, are they trying to be posh? The whole mushy mess went in the bin.

Awful Oatcakes greasy.sausage in bits and hard.paid alot less elsewhere and better food.wont go again.

Bad quality not cooked properly and more expensive than any other oatcakes shop.terrible place.

Took a while longer to arrive and Oatcakes’s were colder than usual so cheese was hard shame because there normally banging😞

One of the best oatcake places. I asked for my bacon to be well done / browned off and it was.. just how I like it (quite hard & crispy!), so I’m pleased they listened to me. The cheese is nice. The cheese elsewhere can be greasy and have a bad taste. Whatever cheese they use works on their oatcakes. I know Cheshire is traditional but some places use nasty cheddar which isn’t my first choice. The other oatcakes were delicious: cheese mushroom and onion; cheese and beans; sausage cheese beans and mushrooms. I’d recommend this place. You can get it delivered too. Edit: another delicious breakfast. Quality.

I moved away from Stoke over 20 years ago. I am so happy I found that High Lane oatcakes DELIVER! A box of 60 oatcakes now regularly makes its way to my house. THANK YOU for keeping this Ex Stokie get his delicious oatcake fix!

i’m not sure what cheese they use but it was more like a cheese sauce vile taste !

Food should have arrived by 9:40, rocked up at 10:50 and majority of the items cold but what was warm were thoroughly enjoyed

We moved to Dorset in 2001 and had lived on high lane previously. We have their Oatcakes delivered each year at Christmas as a treat and a bit of nostalgia. Great taste and great service. Never understood why oatcakes aren’t national.

Shocking! Placed the order... the restaurant was waiting over half an hour for the driver to turn up... resulting in us receiving stone cold food... after we applied for a refund as advised

Just purchased £12 of filled Oatcakes when I order a sausage and cheese I expect it to include a sausage not sliced dried up bits on a dried up oatcake went in the bin

I can honestly say I've never been to an oatcake shop that didn't sell proper Tinned Tommy's, my only other comment is the cheese, I love cheese and usually fhe mire cheese the better BUT their cheese doesn't melt properly ad they put too much on and it has the strangest texture in your mouth next time we go I will asking for a cheese less option

Food wasn’t cooked, sausage was anaemic. Put actual sliced tomatoes on an oatcake instead on tinned.

The finest oatcakes in Staffordshire. These are made without milk, so my ageing mother who is lactose intolerant can eat them no problem. They're also light in nature and not at all rubbery.

Unfortunately had to give one star , the oatcakes are lovely, however I came on a few occasions and I had recieved 5 in my 6 pack of oatcakes purchased, this happened 3 times where I was purchasing a few packs at a time and only received 5 in them, so had to stop going . I aren’t sure wether there is a manager telling the staff to only put 5 in to help with food cost deviations or unfortunate miscounting. Have been using foleys oatcakes since because they come as advertised

Once again, my online order was delivered correctly and on time. So happy that i can order genuine Staffordshire oatcakes and pikelets straight to my home in Worcestershire. As a Stokie I'm very happy with my order packed so well by Magdalena who asked me how I eat my oatcakes.....usually with Cheshire cheese bubbling under the grill. Love them with bacon and egg. Quite a traditional way, certainly NOT as a dessert.

I alway buy my oatcakes from here, I think that they are the best. The postal service is excellent, only takes 2 days after ordering them to arrive. We have our oatcakes with with cheese and mushrooms/bacon. We are going to explore having them with other fillings.

Unfortunately like a lot of food outlets High Lane has joined the trend and started to cut the sausages into small pieces 😪 . So u get bits of sausage and cheese instead of a full sausage and cheese oatcake. Very nice but not the same.

These are a first class quality oatcake , just to my taste.Other brands I find are often too heavy. SinceI I no longer live in North Staffs I do on occasions need to buy them online and to get such a suburb product with free postage is a real bonus

Cheese was very slimey. Tomatoes are advertised as chopped tinned tomatoes on the photographs but was actually fresh tomatoes. Not impressed.

Poor !!! Sloppy oatcakes - barely any cheese on them, watery red sauce. No quality bacon or sausage used and both telephone and delivery staff were unpleasant. Bad experience with them overall and will no re-use nor recommend!!!

These are the best oatcakes and really good online service. Stoke comes to Essex and I can have a happy Easter. Pikelets too!

When I ordered double oatcakes the picture showed them folded separately. This is what I expected to arrive but instead the filling is sandwiched between the two oatcakes. False advertising imo and won’t be ordering again and you need to be more clear in your descriptions and with your pictures.
