Staff were polite and respectful and overall very decent food and good quality coffee. The aesthetic inside was lovely. Given 1 star only because vibe was not it from the moment I stepped in. From my own experience if you ‘wear a mask’ as in if you are coloured and wear religious attire then don’t bother. The stares of disgust and ignorant passive aggressive sneers, and comments I got from other customers who looked like locals made me feel super uncomfortable and gave me anxiety. I left as quickly as I could and will definitely NOT be coming back. I will rather spend my money where I feel comfortable and at ease regardless of how amazing the place, food or aesthetic is.

I have been coming to the Oat shed each time I’m back visiting family. Unfortunately today’s visit was a shame. We arrived and could see it was very busy, however we waited an hour for our food. Someone who ordered after me was served beforehand. I have the Turkish eggs each time, this time it was so salty, the bread was hard, uncomplimentary pickled onions with the dish and it was served cold. It may have been because it was busy but I hope to have my usual delicious breakfast there in the future.

We’ve been visiting the oat shed on a monthly basis over the last 6 months or so, and I’m always looking forward to the next time we visit. The coffee is great, I usually have a peach iced tea too, but my absolute favourite (and reason I go back again and again) are the Turkish eggs! I read other reviews suggesting the oat shed is expensive, but I disagree. You get what you pay for and the quality of the local ingredients beats any other local cafe in my opinion. I’d personally rather pay a little extra for the quality. There is nothing wrong with the service despite other reviews…i wouldn’t say the customer service is A* but it’s a busy cafe and the staff don’t have chance to go over and above. Regardless, everyone’s been polite and attentive during our visits so far. Zero complaints from us…looking forward to our next visit!

Food and coffee really nice, just a shame about the girl operating the till, least I would expect is a please/thank-you or a smile when I’m £3.80+ for a coffee. Very moody, we watched her do it to many others. All other staff really nice and friendly.

Lovely aesthetic and decor in the cafe m. The staff seemed quite busy, pre occupied. They were friendly but would be have helped to add to the atmosphere if there were a little more enthusiastic. Food was delicious we had the shakshuka and mushrooms on toast. Although the coffee wasn’t that great, was a bit disappointed with this. Tasted a little burnt and was cold.

We love coming to The Oat Shed, and have been with friends and family. The food is great and the venue itself is refreshingly modern and relaxed. Most of the time there is a slight wait, but the staff are quick and eager to seat you, we have never waited more than 15 minutes. One of my favourites to visit for breakfast/brunch. 1st time visiting here this morning. I've driven past many times thinking I should try it. Well this morning I decided to treat myself to breakfast. I have a usual place I go that do Turkish Eggs that I love, so The Oat Shed had strong competition, I can honestly say these were even better. An absolute 10/10 of a dish, so delicious seasoned perfectly, they were decadent and the portion just felt so generous. So if you were like me and keep meaning to pop in or try it for the first time, don't wait any longer you won't regret it. I will definitely be back :)

Being a local - living less than 2 minutes walking from the cafe' - I was very sad when Farm Fresh decided to close down (I was there all the time, between pop ups and lunch time coffees) - equally, I was excited when I heard the news of someone deciding to buy the spot and to keep it as a vibrant, indipendent cafe. Because of this, since the Oat Shed opened, I've desperately been trying to like it - truth is that now, after visiting several times, I can confirm that despite all the efforts there's huge room for improvement. Yes, the cafe' is lovely and there's attention to the decor and the aesthetics (a bit too 'clinical' for my taste, but I don't give less stars on that). Yes, the brunch menu and the execution of food and drinks is also great - fresh food, cooked very well and great tasting coffee. However, it's the overall service and atmosphere that massively lets the place down, and I can no longer ignore it. As a latest example, me and my friend went for brunch on a recent Saturday morning, around 10.30. I understand this is a busy time of the day, but it took 35 minutes for us to receive two lattes, and almost one hour to receive our food. I appreciate the challenges of being an indipendently-run business (I remember on the opening day, the staff was asking for kindness and patience whilst finding their feet) however, patience has now been given for quite sometimes and I feel that a line should be drawn. Yes, it is an indipendent business, but sitting at the other hand of the line there's also paying customers who are giving you their money and their time. I have supported several indipendent cafes where it doesn't take more than half an hour just to get drinks. To make it worse, it's the overall attitude of some members of the staff: they are not rude per se, but lacking true kindness and not very apologetic. To top it all, I think most of them are also very young, and lacking any hospitality experience. When I went to check on our order, I was told, almost word by word 'Yes they are coming, we just had a big order coming through'. Okay, fine. But no apology? No communication (they could have come to check on us and inform us of the situation)? There were three serving member of the staff that day and, unless they were either cleaning tables or serving food, they would just stand in a corner and chatting between them - maybe you could use that time to check on orders, to check on your customers, to see if anyone needs anything etc - just a suggestion. Truth is that more than once now, I've left the cafe' with an unpleasant feeling of not really being 'welcomed' there - I think at this point, I'll stop trying my luck and redirect my custom elsewhere. PS: the pastries on the windows always look fantastic, but they remain a bit tough to chew, even when bought in the morning (tried the nordic knot yesterday).

I wanted to get three croissants for £1 at Lidl but my boyfriend never listens to me and wanted to come here instead. The outside bore no clue of the Scandinavian oasis of calm within, and i walked in with pain in my heart. Whites and putty-hued beige tones greeted me. Calmness returned. We ordered brunch. A good breakfast spot is a lot like good sex: efficient and delivers what you want the way you want it. Also, if they can add avocado. The breakfast burger wasn’t a burger other than being housed in a brioche bun, but was otherwise very tasty and well made. I enjoyed the massive scoop of extra avocado. Suppliers are all organic and local. Nice. Baked goods are insane. My cold heart was softened at the Oatshed. Lidl was just a distant memory after we left.

The oat shed has has a lot of time and money spent on the interior. How ever we visited on a Sunday, no booking allowed. However I think this is we’re it goes wrong. It was very busy with queuing outside the door, this meant it ruined the vibe of the place as you were eating with people looking at you waiting the be seated, some waiting over 30/ 40 mins. I don’t mind waiting for food, however 2 lattes and milkshake took 45/ 50 mins to arrive and this was the case for all of table. Perhaps a different system would work better so all dinner get to enjoy the surrounding that the owners have take great care and pleasure creating. To me a simple booking system with maybe an allocated time slot of the table would have worked better. Also table service. As I just felt like the whole experience was all about queuing. Not what you want for a lovely venue like this. If a family of 4 came out for breakfast the bill would likely be around £80. I recently had breakfast for a silmar at amount at the ivy in cobham Surrey which felt like a relaxing family treat. If I booking system was introduced even for just weekends I would return. Food was nice just shame about the ikea style service

I have visited the Oatshed many times now, for both events held, casual dining and after dog walk stops. I’ve got to say, the only reason I’ve continued to visit is for the food quality - absolutely faultless and delicious brunches/pastries. However, the delightful food is let down by the customer service. I have brought friends/family here to try the food here who also commented on the unwelcoming service, no recognition from staff as you enter or any general politeness and often left feeling like you’re just being watched which leaves for an uncomfortable experience. Previously thought this may just be due to a busy or bad day, but have visited often enough to see this can’t always be the case. 5* food and venue as it’s a beautiful little space but let down by poor customer service.

The Oat Shed is a lovely spot with a cozy atmosphere and a menu filled with delicious, healthy options. The food is clearly made with high-quality ingredients, as it is well-presented and incredibly tasty. However, the prices are quite high, so it might not be the best option for those on a budget. Unfortunately, the coffee was a letdown. While the food was top-notch, the coffee was clearly made with low-quality beans that lacked freshness. The lack of crema was a telltale sign that the coffee was not up to par. For those who prioritize their coffee, it might be best to skip The Oat Shed's brew and opt for something else. It would be nice, if like the food, they sourced the coffee from a local roaster.

I visited with my 5 year and we loved it. I had the Hash which I highly recommend. My son had a Jammy Dodger blondie and just inhaled it, no crumbs were left. It was busy but the atmosphere is very chilled and inside seems very spacey . It’s immaculately clean and you don’t feel rushed. I brought a millionaires short home for my husband and we only just managed it between us and believe me that’s a statement. I follow them on Instagram and keep seeing pictures of their doughnuts and know my life won’t be complete without one. I am predominantly a tea drinker, but the lattes looked and smelled too good to resist. All you need to know is my son is fussy eater and has demolished their cake. I’m keeping an eye on the evening events for a menu I think I’ll like … then I’ll be all over it like a seagull on chips.

Came for a lunch and was very disappointed. I had chorizo hash dish that wasn’t chorizo it was fried luncheon meat or something certainly not chorizo. The taste was awful tasted of burnt plastic. No hash just bits of potatoes and a couple of rocket leaves sat in loads of oil in a dirty skillet dish. My husband ordered toast and peanut butter served to him without a knife. A tiny thimble of peanut butter and over priced. I requested some salt and was brought an empty salt cellar. One more thing my tea was served with a badly cracked cup very unhygienic and dangerous if it fell apart. Over priced food that was pretty awful and not what it was claiming to be. Service very poor although polite but still. Didn’t complain as we didn’t choose to eat there and didn’t want to cause a fuss. Had I been on my own I would have demanded my money to be refunded.
