Had a coffee stop here with family. Lovely coffee and friendly people who wanted to chat and also make sure we had everything we needed.

Lovely friendly couple serving, couldn't do enough for each customer. although we have been coming to Weymouth and there Nothe area for years, never been here, but we won't make that mistake again, we'll definitely be back. I had a cream tea, got extra hot water for my mug of tea too, very yummy. Great prices.

This cafe is wonderful. They serve straightforward food, made with very good ingredients and cooked 'just right', without all the manipulation - 'deals', 'extras' and so forth - intended to trap unwary customers. You get exactly what you order and they're more than willing to help if you ask for something that isn't on the menu. They also understand that good manners go a long way, they were a pleasure to talk to. Don't miss this little cafe, it's the best place for a bite to eat in that part of Weymouth.

A hidden gem. You may wait a while for food however the atmosphere and the two lovely owners make up for it. Sitting in the sun, overlooking the beach, what more could you ask for!

A hidden gem. Outdoor seating only a dozen tables, this lovely little hut cooks to order, offering a simple menu at an honest price. Glimpses of the sea from most tables. Recommended.

We were looking for a while for somewhere my disabled inlaws could access for afternoon tea, so had to rule out the stall further along below the castle. Eventually came across this place at 4pm, to be told they were closing, but could sell us ice creams. Why o why is it so hard to find a place willing to serve a cup of tea/coffee at 4pm??? And then no card machine...

This is a cafe that makes amazing cream teas. The quality of the scones is small and perfectly formed times two per cream tea. And gently warmed. The clotted cream is fresh and authentic. Jam is generous. The tea is generous as well plus a hot water teapot to make at least two mugs of tea per person. Can’t comment about rest of food but what we saw looked very appetising. Sometimes you have to wait for a little while but that’s because everything is made fresh. No microwaves, just good fresh food.

Stopped by with my children for a quick snack and drink. Unfortunately we had to wait for an hour for a tea cake and toastie. The lady was apologetic but the gentlemen seemed to want to argue the point over what place my order was in the queue which was a bit disappointing. It’s a shame as a sorry and recognition goes a long way. Nonetheless it’s a sweet cafe and I appreciate the hard work that goes in.

We popped into the café after a lovely walk around nothe park. There were no seats but we saw there was a plastic takeaway cup so presumed they did takeaway and we could sit on a park bench. The old lady was extremely unhelpful when we asked if we could buy a cup for our dog to drink her water out of as her bowl was in the car. She seemed completely aghast that we would even suggest having her polystyrene cup and then basically stopped taking to my husband to serve someone else. So rude. Lovely park, awful woman!

A sweet little cafe in a prime place. The owners are very sweet and there are some lovely touches like the amounts of clotted cream and jam you get with the (shop bought) scones. The extra water and large mug for tea is great too. Service is slow but I guess that is part of the charm. Nothing was very clean though (I noted them hand washing everything) and the cash only rule is a real nuisance. There isn’t a toilet either (although there is one in the car park). I really want to love this little cafe and the nice little touches just outweigh the niggles.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to get a lovely pot of tea, a mug of coffee, hot chocolate or a yummy snack in a lovely spot then this is it ! Incredibly reasonable prices, all freshly made snacks and a lovely friendly service. Hot drinks come in pretty china mugs ( no nasty paper cups here!) my hot chocolate was excellent. All can be enjoyed in a pretty seating area outside with a view down to the harbour through the trees. If you’ve been to The Nothe and walking down the steps to the harbour you couldn’t wish for a better place to stop for a toasted tea cake, bacon bap and loads more. Just love this little friendly cafe!!

oh where do I start? ok, it has a great location, up by Nothe Forte and overlooking Weymouth. That's 1 star given. The second star is for the fact they serve a mug of tea for £1. And that's where it ends....... so we went to the cafe for a coffee and cake. But.... they couldn't take cards.... after 18 months of being told nowhere accepts cash, I rarely have cash on me, so... I had just a couple of pounds so couldn't even have a latte (I'd walked the length of Weymouth, I wasn't going to walk back down to find a cashpoint). I stood in the q.... behind two people...... 15 minutes later...yes 15 minutes to serve 2 customers...... I ordered 2 teas. The guy (I assume he and his good lady who was there own the place and have been there forever bless them) was very pleasant and gave me extra water to top our mugs up with afterwards, so that was good. I sat down and we watched as it took another 15 minutes to serve the 2 people who were behind me in the q. It was amusing, maybe it shouldn't have been but it reminded us of Little Britain meets Fawlty Towers....... this shack could be a goldmine if they just simplified the menu, didn't offer so many different things and concentrated on the basics. And I think give the place a darn good clean as the EHO may have something to say about the cleanliness and hygiene of it. But all that said, we had a memorable visit (possibly for the wrong reasons!!) and hope things improve in future.

I always visit this café when in Weymouth but have never thought to review it on T A. To get to it involves hills or steps, but it is well worth the effort and, of course, it is downhill when you leave. Run by a lovely couple. Magnificent views over Melcombe Regis beach and esplanade.

I came across this little chalet on the edge of Nothe Gardens when walking back down to the harbour to find somewhere for lunch. Very quiet and sunny spot but only has outdoor seating where you are joined by a flock of friendly tame sparrows to eat. Great bacon sandwich, good cup of tea, great value for money and friendly service. What more can you need

A must visit on any trip to Weymouth. The Chalet is not well known about and that is a shame. As with any eatery its all about the food and this place is excels at that.Long, deep filled rolls at bargain prices. What is not to like about that? The owning couple are lovely and it only takes a few minutes for the food to be made. No hygiene issues with a great 5 star rating and you can see it being made in front of you.Try and visit next time your nearby by. You will not be disappointed.

Probably the best value café in Weymouth - the teacake and hot drink deal and cream teas are particularly good value - especially by Weymouth's standards. And that's before you throw in the friendly service (it's run by a lovely couple) and the fantastic views across Weymouth Bay. It's dog friendly and there's an undercover seating area too.

What a find! Our group of happy but tired dancers and musicians needed a break while performing at the folk festival and found this DELIGHTFUL cafe at the edge of the Nothe Gardens, yet barely 300 yards from the hurly burly festival crowds. Teas, coffees, sandwiches, confectionery, cold drinks, ices, hot sausage rolls are ordered at the kiosk and brought to your table - either inside or out within minutes. And get this - when you ask for a pot of tea they supply a separate second tea bag in case you want to make your tea stronger! Outside tables have parasols for shade although there are inside tables too. Now that is thoughtful! Exceptional value too. I shall now bring our musicians and dancers here every time.

Visit this little gem quite often all year round. Coffee is great and made to your taste. Food is all freshly prepared, so in busy times you may have a little wait, which is not a problem soaking up the sunshine and looking across Weymouth beach. Bacon sandwiches are the best, with cream teas a close a second. Great service and amazing value.

How disappointing! really not up to standard, the hygiene is poor. CLEANING TABLES WITH POLISH! well that's a first, that does not clean the tables it just polishes. The cook was constantly picking food and dipping it to what looked like a mayonnaise tub, eating grated cheese and the list goes on, also texting on her phone, no apron or washing off hands. I think an open kitchen is sometimes not a good idea, as the floor was filthy, and the tops were messy. Even the toilet was cleaner then the kitchen. The other 2 girls were friendly, but so was the cook. Word of advice put yourself on a hygiene course.

Avoid! We went in for ice cream - they had about 3 flavours out of the 15 or so advertised. They blamed delivery. When we ordered 5 they handed us 5 pathetic tiny scoops in tubs - didn’t even ask if that was ok. When we complained the manager aggressively told us “we are closing next week so running supplies down” as if we were somehow outrageous to expect cones/to be told there was no cones before we paid. It needs a good clean too inside.

Excellent Sunday lunch, roast beef cooked as liked and requested, really good selection of vegetables although would have liked roasted parsnips!!!!! Roast potatoes crispy and fluffy , carrots sweet and Yorkshire pudding gorgeous. Good selection of Desserts and drink. Staff very friendly with excellent customer service; my only slight criticism is that there was a wait from when the plates were served and when the vegetables were brought to the table however we all really enjoyed our meals and will go back. Thoroughly recommend Salt.
