Excellent olde worlde type of pub - because that's exactly what it is, very old coaching inn full of character, great staff, a well kept pint, reasonably priced food, would recommend a visit.

We love the Norton Arms. Took our friends for sunday lunch who were visiting from Holland, they loved how historic and beautiful the pub was and the food was delicious. My friend is vegetarian and had the Beetroot burger, she said it was the best veggie burger she'd ever had. The service as always, was great, attentative staff, where nothing is too much trouble. Can't recommend it high enough.

Called in early in the evening for food and a drink. Not too busy, didn't wait too long for food to arrive which was very nice.

Traditional old British pub, nice Steak & mushroom pie, chips & gravy, not too busy, seated straight away, didn't wait too long for food, when it arrived it was very nice. Staff friendly & Polite.

Lamb roast dinner was *chef kiss* Staff were super attentive and all reasonably priced. Will definitely be back for more roast dinner goodness.

Like the Norton, but the lack of a good regular bitter puts me off.

Been again today and mac n cheese was truly delicious . Loved the crispy onions on top. Highly recommend. YUM!

Didn't have any food but observed other people eating Lady behind bar was friendly Pub is very old so if you like old pubs this is a good one to visit. The lady took it on the chin when I told her she was flying their union jack outside upside down. My wife an Ex Girl guide told me to be honest until she told me I didn't realise that there is a wrong way to fly the Union Jack Ladies toilet was clean if we were in the area again would visit

Walked up to the Pub yesterday with my wife after work. Long week!@ Been going to this pub for well over 30 years. Has always been a good pub for food and drink. We've always been within walking distance. So we got seated I went to.the bar. I was asked "if we were eating"?. I said " yes we would be". So a Tab was opened. We sat and then asked if we were ready to order after about 5mins. We said no not just yet we would have a few drinks first then when we were ready to order we would order another bar. This was agreed. "No problem when your ready". So maybe 30 mins or so later. My wife went to the bar and ordered the food and drinks. Food arrived 20 or so minutes later. Great Food!. We finished the food got some more drinks and continued to enjoy the afternoon. 10mins or so after the plates were collected, we were asked how long we would be with the Table as it was booked for 6:30pm. It was only about 4:40pm. We said we would be easily gone by then. We were walking back home. So we continued to relax etc. It was a nice say after all. Then the same person came back after 15mins and said we would need to be away from the table sooner and asked again how long we would be. So this just wasn't right!! We had an open Tab we were drinking, the Pub wasn't that busy that people were queuing for tables. So rather than get continually badgered on how long we long were going to be?, we moved to the bar area to try to continue with our afternoon. Then because we moved we asked to pay the bill to close the Tab!!. Wow. So in essence we weren't wanted there!! as we had the food and drinks and payed. When I asked why were basically badgered to move? We were then told that you can only have a table for between 1.5 to 2 hrs. Never known this for all the years we have been going there. If we were told this when we sat down we would have known. It's not on any notices or on the menus to say this. Or is this a new thing in the Norton??. If it is,then might be worth notifying or advertising this for the patrons. My wife has vowed never to return, don't blame her really. The Norton didn't make it a relaxing day at all. Shame really usually a Nice place. Other pubs are within walking distance that do food. Maybe it's time we take our custom there as the bill for the Norton is usually between £60-80 for us. I'm sure other pubs would welcome this

Great evening last Sunday. Good staff and good beers. Nice atmosphere. Update July 2024: Had Sunday dinner, excellent food. Make sure to book as they often run out of Sunday dinners, though you can order other things.

Lovely ladies that lunch meal with 2 best friends good meal.Same again the same 3 friends enjoying a catch up for lunch. Served by a lovely young lady with nice meals. Will return soon.

Had to ask if we could sit outside for food? Only for the street food or sandwiches, not sure why? The bread was not very good, I had a chicken and bacon sandwich, and I requested sourdough, not really sure what I got, but left most of it.

Great little find. Beautiful inside and out. Read garden is big and was hosting an open mic event when I was there. Great to see so many people join in.

We oped in for a coffee anf a cake, we got a latte and caramel brownie with ice cream, it was absolutely delicious. This is such a lovely little pub, the food is always delicious no matter what you order, the staff are always very friendly and so helpful, it's become our local, the atmosphere and ambiance is lovely, and thenland lady takes the time out, regardless of what she's doing, to come and chat with you, lovely lady.

The food here was very good and the staff simply wonderful. All in all, it was a great experience. Would highly recommend and we'll be returning soon.

Ordered the Cowards Steak locally sourced from frodsham and was not disappointed, Food, service and atmosphere was all spot on, highly recommend.

A special little nook in the middle of a nowhere town. The low ceilings and dated decor add to the already cosy atmosphere. The staff are really welcoming, and the landlady's super friendly. The menu is limited, which means the kitchen staff can concentrate on making memorable, hearty meals every time. I would recommend popping in, if your passing through or even if you're local.

Words can’t describe, known the pub for years, been for years but Claire has lost custom. Took my heavily pregnant due in 3 weeks partner for a meal with my dad and mother in law, only for my partner to ask for a well done steak, usual request you would think. It arrived and was pink and gristle. I mentioned this and brought it up, the girl on shift was great and handled it well but as for any rectifying it was null. They took 5 pounds off the bill, off a meal that could have harmed my partner due to pregnant women being unable to have raw meat. Not only that the duty manager was also the chef who was also hiding out in the kitchen who had not bothered to come out and talk to us rather her of his staff take the brunt of the situation. All in all they hate giving money back but love taking it in, management shambles. Won’t be returning.

One of the best pub roast dinners I have ever had! Everything on the plate is good quality and cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Service was warm and friendly. We will definitely be paying another visit soon 🙂

Food was nice service was good but price was expensive for what I had. I had to pay extra for a salad on the side. There should be an option really. Not everyone wants chips.

I had steak and home made peppercorn sauce which was lovely. Nice steak and cooked to perfection. The staff are lovely in there and it a quiet old pub with a warn welcoming atmosphere. My friend got sticky chicken, hellumi dips and humous. Decent prices and quick service. I would recommend for food and drinks. They have a good selection of drinks to choose from.

Never had a bad meal here. They don't allow dogs in the pub but there's loads of outside seating both under cover and in the garden.

Probably the best steak I've ever had in the UK.

We had a lovely lunch today Friday 26th May 2023 at The Norton Arms , the food that we ordered was excellent, it tasted delicious , it was piping hot, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We didn't have to wait to long to get a table. The Norton has a great atmosphere it's warm and welcoming and . I highly recommend The Norton Arms, it's great for a family meal or for a great night out with family or friends. I highly recommend The Hunters Chicken it's delicious, 😋 compliments to the Chef. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

we popped up for a lunch today and I must say that the stuff was impeccable and the "scran" way better than we expected: our vegs soups came accompanied with nice and hot ciabattas + handsome portion of scrumptious butter + chilli con carne turned out to come in a generous quantity. fabulous. ps thank you to a most kind waitress in a light jumper!

Nicely decorated for Xmas. I have eaten there before hoping the food had improved as its had a re-vamp, unfortunately food wasn't great and over priced for the quality. Had steak, about 6 chips, a mushroom and tomato which was 18.50 with peppercorn sauce, very chewy and rather tasteless probably won't be eating there again.

Such a cozy pub with amazing food. The staff are all so personable and after only a few visits that really remember your face. I feel so welcomed every time I go in. The food prices are a little on the steep side at the moment

It was an average kind of meal. Rather blend, wish they had added a bit more of spices/herbs to the meal to make it stand out a bit more to the oil/butter it was baked/fried in to. The ambience inside was very nice and cozy though! Has a great interior and very friendly staff :)

Good food, if relatively expensive. One cask beer available on my visit, but normally three. A genuinely old (1758) building, Grade II listed, which retains its historical feel. Windows that actually open a boon in hot weather! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. TV in back room .

This is one of the best and most friendly pubs in Runcorn. Even better with the massive beer garden and the fantastic food. Always a cold pint with a warm welcome.
