The Northfield in East Riding of Yorkshire

Went for tea due to hearing good reviews and was staying near by! Very disappointed my sons chicken nuggets batter was raw... Its very over priced for a working mans club/campsite pub.

Well today we visited Northfeild Restaurant for our Sunday lunch. Strangely we live in Withernsea and have never eaten here before. Mores the pity ! It was absolutely outstanding. The food was first class I had roast Turkey and Mike had Roast beef . Beautiful real meat and vegetables were all served separately again fantastic. We cannot fault this place and the service and staff were amazing with excellent customer service skills. Well done Northfield awesome we will be back best place for Sunday lunch In Withernsea area . We went for boxing day lunch. There was seven of us and we did not have anything bad to say about the food. The portion sizes were good. It was well presented and tasted delicious. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We go regular to the Northfield. The staff are lovely. The food is gorgeous and fantastic value for money.

Highly recommended. The place itself is a bit tired and I was served a stale pint but the waitress didn't hesitate to sort it out and change it, which I appreciated. My crab salad was super tasty and probably under priced at £12.95 including new postatoes. The daughters sausages meal was very tasty too, nice butchers sausages. The Mrs was indifferent on the lasagne but loved the garlic bread and home made chips. The menu choice was great, there were a number of dishes I would have had. If we lived up there we would definitely go back. As, evidently do lots of people as it was busy. Well done

What an amazing place to eat. After calling up to book a table for 22 of us they could not be anymore accommodating. We were able to pre order our meals before we arrived and once we were all seated we were all eating within half an hour. Even though when we walk in it looked more like a small pub the food was amazing. Staff couldn't of been anymore friendly or helpful. We felt so welcomed and had an amazing family meal all 22 of us.

The Northfield had lots of good reviews from fellow caravan owners and as such we decided to go there for a family meal. My wife had gammon and chips , I had sirloin steak and chips and the boys had sausage and chips, the gammon was grisly, the sausages were very herby which did not go down well with the kids. The steak I asked to be cooked medium rare, it was presented to me lightly cooked on both sides and very raw, now I like a rare steak but raw is just a bit too rare for my taste. Would I recommend the Northfield....No definitely not, the waitresses were very polite and apologetic but the food left a lot to be desired.

Having paid a visit to this restaurant tonight I would like to say firstly how clean and tidy the restaurant was staff extremely friendly and food A1 never had homemade steak pie with so much meat also very tasty would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone 10 out of 10

My wife and I come to withernsea regularly and popped into the northfield for Sunday lunch ..we were in no rush and had a couple of pre lunch drinks The northfield was well staffed ..friendly and we felt comfortable. Then lunch …so good ..served up by friendly attentive staff ..and as I said ..so good It’s now on our place to visit and would recommend a visit ..

If you are in Withernsea ,don’t miss an opportunity to have a fantastic Sunday lunch here . Lovely welcoming atmosphere and great food .

Just to say, I wasn’t well enough to go out so we ordered a takeout for Sunday Roast. Hubby went to collect a chicken roast and beef roast. It was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly and we had a great choice of meat, potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing. 10/10 Thank you so much 😊 We will be back! Maggie and Richard Shaw x

Could not recommend this place enough! Lovely welcome, although quiet in atmosphere. Myself and family didn’t stay on this site but felt very welcome and the Sunday dinner was lovely. Plenty of veg and other sides, honestly we could not fault it. My son is a very picky eater and we ordered just a plate of chicken for him. The owners were very understanding and gave him extra chicken. The girls that took our order were absolutely lovely. Would definitely go back again if we were in the area again

A brilliant night from the word go we were so well looked after by Paul Stephenson, Hannah Medcalfe and the staff. The food was excellent and really hot on beautifully hot plates. Thoroughly enjoyed by all the ladies. The entertainment was fantastic, The Corsairs were outstanding! The ladies can’t wait for their next night out. Thank you Northfield we enjoyed every moment.

Very professional from booking onwards to our function. Couldn't fault it at all and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. They took the pressure off us and made life simple. Wonderful to return to the Northfield restaurant which has survived the Covid encounter and welcomed a New Chef together with a New Commis chef. My wife and I looked forward to enjoying the new menu and were NOT disappointed. Not only was the quality of the food marvelous but also the presentation of the food was first class. Two weeks ago, I was staying at the adjacent Parkdean Caravan Park, and we were looking for a restaurant for dinner one night. I looked at reviews, and wanted to try the Northfield. The pub is open restricted hours, but the restaurant does not appear to have re-opened since the enforced closures due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Disappointed, I went down to the Golden Haddock, and had a fish supper. I would recommend the Golden Haddock!

The people managing the cafe seem oblivious or uncaring about the above point. May have been a nice establishment to eat inside or out and certainly it had over 20 seating areas and yet when your 5 year old daughter has walked all the way down the coast, the lack of toilet facilities is very disappointing.

Can't fault the food was excellent unfortunately the waitress (so called) was terrible no did you enjoy your meal would you like anything else nothing just took plates away

Never had a bad meal in all the time we've been going there. Steaks cooked to perfection, excellent steak pie, Sunday carvery sets the standard. Great staff; what's not to like?

A lovely relaxing setting for a Sunday carvery. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The conservatory area is very pleasant and the food is excellent.We were a family group of 6 and needed to book on my daughters whim on the Saturday afternoon. Fortunately post Xmas is quieter in Withernsea so not a problem getting a table. 3 courses for the Adults (Desserts to die for)and children's carvery with Mr Moo's ice cream for the kids.Eaten here before on Sundays and on evenings and never been disappointed.Strongly recommended.

Not posted on here for a while but as I’ve stated before this is one of it not best carvery in the area.The portion size is Fab and the deserts are to die for.The book in service has friendly staff who make your visit a pleasure and walk ins can enjoy a meal in the Tap side where the friendliness is carried over.Can’t recommend this place enough

Last night we celebrated my partner’s 60th Birthday & what an evening we had! We hired the function room & booked a private band but what a fantastic service The Northfield staff gave us. Superb bar service, delicious hot roast sandwiches; nothing was too much trouble for them, from setting up the room to clearing everything away & everything in between. Thank you so much

My parents have a caravan on the meadows and we always stay and go here!! The club has a great atmosphere especially Friday/Saturdays. Foods great, staff are always welcoming. Making you feel like your at home! Love it

Always really good food and generous portions, we never have room for dessert even though they are on display and look very tempting. The staff are very friendly and polite.

20 of us came for a tea time meal adults and children We were served on time and our meals were very hot Our meals were of a very high standard and we all enjoyed our time there.

Waited an age for it to appear and when the food finally arrived it was Luke warm and one of the choices we had ordered was wrong gave up and voted with our feet never again

I have been a regular customer to this establishment for a few years now, and thought it was about time i wrote a review. The menu has been recently upgraded to offer a wider variety of traditional family faviorate meals, Burgers, steaks mixed grills etc. And there are always new and mouthwatering daily specials to choose from.

Went for a meal, staff were friendly, food was reasonably priced and drinks too, food was very tasty, we was staying at the holiday park next door so compared to the food on the park and the drink prices this was a 5 star place.

Having recently purchased a caravan on the site we thought we would pay a visit... oh my we were not disappointed... we are now becoming regulars as cannot resist going back... dawn and the girls are so polite and friendly .. the food excellent value for money and delicious... try the posh fish finger sandwich mmm

Came for a meal with my partner. Was waiting up to 20 minutes for our order to be taken. When the waitress came to take our order we was told because we wanted a starter we had to order our main meal separate. We was waiting up to 30 minutes for our starter to arrive. Once we finished our starter we was still waiting an hour for our main meal to be taken. There is one waitress taken orders. The wait was agonising. Will not reccomend to family or friends and will not be returning for a meal.

Went to northfield for a meal with partner as it was recommended by a friend, i have been previously on a few occasions and always had a pleasurable experience but it was even better tonight, the menu had been revamped and catered for all types of dietary requirements, there was so much to chose from and the meals coming out of the kitchen looked mouth watering, i had chicken curry and it was lush the chicken breast was proper chicken and not the frozen rubbish most establishments tend to use with plenty of spices, my partner had fish and chips and is very picky when it comes to his fish but he really enjoyed it, the restaurant was very busy but we didnt have to wait long which i think just goes to show how competent the chef is and how the establishment is well run, the ladies who served us was lovely and always smiling even though they must of been sweating in this heat, the girl behind the bar made us feel welcome and took the time to go through the gin options, the price was really good value for money, will definitely be visiting again a good little treasure for withernsea locals and people on vacation would definitely recommend to all x

Around a month ago I placed a review here as I found the home made deserts absolutely fantastic. I have gone back several times and the service and quality of food remains great my last visit however I was surprised to be given a voucher for a discount on my next meal as I’d been selected by the staff on site after I commented on the food here. I cashed it in on my next meal so I could yet again enjoy great service and a great meal.

Visited with friends on Sunday for a carvery, selection of meats, beef and pork, or steak and Stilton pie, all lovely cooked, good selection of seasonal vegetables.we have visited lots of time and never had any reason to complain. Good service provided.in a nice atmosphere.arrive early 12pm to ensure you get served, we arrived at 1330 one week and were turned away as too busy.

Called in here last night as we are staying next door, 2 meals special offer, I had steak pie and it was absolutely delicious, loads of chunks of lean well cooked steak, seriously the nicest steak pie I have ever had, husband had gammon and said it was good and it looked it, the restaurant had a lovely ambiance, very clean and friendly staff, we will be back,

Dinner was ok..but dont seem to do mash.staff friendly.the beer was awful flat as owt..and at £3.50 a pint wasted over £12 took it back told them we couldn't drink it no offer of a refund.wont be going back.

The Northfield never fails to tickle my tastebuds with whatever tasty feast i order.

We travel up from Sheffield every weekend and stay at our caravan at sand le mere just down the road the food at northfield is a million times better and it's always a pleasure to see smiling happy staff too that work here.no matter what we have ordered be it a mixed grill, burger ,scampi which both our children cant get enough of (which by the way are massive portions) or just a bar snack the food always comes out hot and looking very appetizing. Make sure you get here early on weekends as it fills up very quickly.

been for my mothers day sunday dinner plus its my birthday everything was perfect staff very helpful and polite . had a 3 course meal it was wonderful the sunday dinner was very good lots of choice of vegetables. and the pudding was gorgeous. Will defianatly be going again and would highly recommened it.

A great location for a Sunday roast in a lovely seaside town. Fantastic colleagues: helpful and attentive. The waiters and waitresses are organised and quick to seat and serve, lead by Dawn making for a relaxed and efficient service

Not only have I been in with my boyfriend but with my family too. We came in for a Saturday lunch time meal and it was fantastic ! I had the haddock and chips and it was the best fish and chips I’ve possibly ever had ! My grandfather - who to say nicely, is extremely picky with his steak pies - ADORED the steak pie and said he’d happily come again ! The chef also came to ask if everything was okay, as it was quiet, and she was extremely polite, as was the waitress - Hannah. I would 100% recommend this to anyone, for the normal menu or for the sunday carvery. Anyone who disagrees is crazy !

While on Holiday we called for something to eat,I have to say what a fantastic place to eat,The Food was very hot and delicious The Staff very Friendly would highly recommend it.

We visited Northfield last Tuesday 8 of us for my wife's Birthday we had a brilliant time and the food was fantastic again. We all chose different meals we sat at our tables having a drink until our meals where ready, all the meals came out at the same time and all hot the level of service as usual was fantastic. My wife asked for a prawn omelette ( Not on the Menu ) which they did and my wife loved. I am booking again tomorrow Tuesday 11th for my daughters Birthday 10 of us. Cant Wait :-)

I booked a table as there were 10 of us and it was a Friday night.we were staying at parkdean withernsea sands caravan park and it was just a 2 minute walk from the entrance to the site.

Me my partner and children went for nice family meal around 7pm meal ok lasagne very dry! As we finished our food noticed bingo was on so decided to have a few drinks and play bingo.... as we had eaten the staff knew we had two children and didn’t say if anything about them being there for bingo... half way through the game we got asked to leave because the children where there (one had nodded off and one reading a book) so being good anyway. Apparently locals where complaining because we was there and obviously not in the ‘click’ if ur on holiday I wouldn’t visit this place dint feel welcome and felt quite emabarassed when people watched us leave!

Meat pie, chips, peas and gravy. Had it twice now and both times absolutely fantastic. sounds like a basic dish, but, when done properly, is an excellent meal. Great service, price and drinks. Thanks to all the staff.

Stayed at withernsea sands caravan park .called in the Northfield with relative's .really nice place and meals were excellent.and very reasonable prices would recommend a visit

We go regularly to the Northfield for the Sunday lunches and sometimes during the weekday evenings. The Sunday meals are the best I have experienced anywhere in the UK. When I am not in Yorkshire and can't go there I miss it very much.

Friendly owners and bar staff. Food excellent. Great choices on menus and before 7pm meals are much cheaper. Great value for all the family.

Second time in a week we have visited The Northfield and will be going back very soon.

Been told about this place and how good it was well maybe we caught it on a bad day.

We were staying nearby and checked on TripAdvisor places to eat.

Me and the family are lucky enough to own a caravan on the site and use the restaurant on a very regular basis.Been foodies ourselves it makes a change for someone else to do the cooking. The food is always piping hot and very well presented. The bar staff are always welcoming and the beers looked after well. The recent change in staff has only improved what was all ready a great place to eat. Lot more choice of specials too. For the money you wont find better.

First time visiting the Northfield. Absolutely fantastic food. Cooked to order and to request. Steak requested rare and came rare! All staff are extremely friendly and waiting staff cannot do enough. Highly recommended for exceptional food and service.

We went here for the first time ever today after finding it on the internet. It was half an hour away from where we lived, but we were going out to celebrate a child's birthday. Upon arriving we were quickly seated but told we should have pre-booked, although this information is not on their website! There we sat for 30 minutes, as a party of nine with 5 very young children (4 pre-school and one of which is autistic) and managed to keep them entertained whilst we waited for our order to be taken, since we were told we couldn't order at the bar. Then after 30 minutes another 40+ minutes followed where our kids began to climb the walls, with no end in sight and still no sign of anyone taking our order, when a member of staff (who was clearing away plates from diners seated after us) commented on our children sounding hungry and I replied by asking if someone could take our order, to which she replied 'Has nobody taken it yet?' and after I told her no, she walked away with no explanation. All 5 of the young children were all crying when a waitress came out a few minutes later to take our order and by this point they'd been sat for 1 hour and 20 minutes and it was now almost 7pm. They were no longer in the mood to eat, and it wasn't feeling like a birthday treat anymore. We walked out without eating. I've never walked out of anywhere in my life, our kids are well behaved, but if it takes this long to get your order, how long does it take to get your food?

Cannot recommend The Northfield any more if I tried! After having lots of previous visits for a family Sunday carvery, plus having them as my wedding venue and caterer, it seemed to be a no brainer when I was searching for a venue for my husbands 30th!

I’ve been coming to this lovely little restaurant for just over 7 years now, it has always had amazing food (teatime specials and Sunday lunch) and brilliant service. Not anywhere else in Withernsea to go for a brilliant meal. Could not recommend enough. The lady chef is lovely too.

In pleasant surroundings, Sunday lunch at the Northfield is not to be missed. Efficient friendly service, delicious meats and tasty vegetables plus the all-important rich gravy. Tea time specials and bar meals also offer good value and are well worth a try.

So much improvement to what it used to be,there is now a variety of vegetables to choose from & also mashed potatoes are available (which in the past there was a choice of skinned potatoes or roasted)well done Rachael,keep up the good work!

My wife and I have gone to the Northfield for its carvery every Sunday for the last six years, It has always been good value for money, with two courses plus coffee coming in at a little over £20. The only criticism was that it was perhaps a little unimaginative. Over the last month or so, however, all that has changed; there's more variety and the quality of the meal has gone from excellent to superb. Absolutely fantastic!

Excellent place to eat and great staff. Especially love the fillet steak it's my favourite, definitely be back soon.

We often go here as a couple for our Sunday lunch. Food is excellent carvery style, and very reasonably priced, with a good variety. The seating area and bar are very clean, and the staff are friendly.

Tables well-laid-out. Warm welcome. Both Waitresses engaged and super-efficient. Chef cooked two Joints of meat brilliantly. Turkey not at all dry. Vegetables out of this world... & I do like my vegetables. Just a smaller Yorkshire Pudding might have been more successful than a large...

Visted for tea time meal waiter or whatever you want to call him very abrupt and rude told to sit down and wait waited around 10 mins no service and not that busy so walked out heard the food is great but he should go...

Came here while staying next door at Park resorts. We didnt realise you had to book to have a meal here so when we arrived we had to wait over an hour or so for food which wasnt the ideal thing to do with two...

This place does lovely food ....... when they can be bothered to open . Sign says meals at 5.30 onwards but the shutters were down . The meal we did get last year ...... when it was actually open was chicken Kiev , chips &...

Visit regularly as we stay at the caravan site next door. The food is home cooked and always of an excellent standard. The Sunday carvery is always worth a visit.

Popped in for tea from the neighbouring Withernsea sands caravan park. Wasn't busy, staff attentive and friendly. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty and very reasonably priced. Fairly no frills but I'm not complaining. Will be going back.

Visited the Northfield for Sunday lunch. As always good food, served hot. Choice of beef or pork and plenty of vegetables. Would have liked to have seen turkey available but the beef was superb, locally sourced.Great friendly service from the staff.

Bar prices are very reasonable, clean and friendly. Didn't eat here this time. Next door to Park Dean Witherensea sands caravan park.

Sunday carvery here is beautiful, 2 courses £10.75, tables in conservatory laid up really nice for Sunday lunches. Food in bar area just as delicious, best peppercorn sauce I've ever tasted. Two for one deals most if not all nights, closed Mondays. Service excellent, bar prices really good, staff friendly and very helpful. Great food at a great price.

We came here for a family meal they was 6 of us before we even got seated the waiter was asking for our orders, I said we hadn't had chance to look at the menu yet or sit down so he huffed and walked off. About 5 mins later he came back we had one menu between 6 I said we still wasn't ready. When we finally got round to ordering he wasn't even listening he was looking in the other direction I had to keep repeating myself to make sure he got the order right then he just walked if mid ordering. No excuse me a minute nothing he did this twice. The meal it's self was lovely but think the male waiter needs a good talking to about customer relations and his rudeness! Let's the place down .

we went into the northfield on saturday night, with our children and grandchildren, where do i start, the welcome we got was lovely, the staff and customers gave us a lovely warm welcome, they had karaoke which was really good, my mum, sister and children ate the mid week and my daughter said that it was the best steak she had ever had and would definately travel to withensea for another it was that good, once again thank you for making our evening a brilliant one,

Staff cannot do enough to provide excellent Carvery, soup, puddings, coffee - and for quite a large number of people. Attention to detail. Generous helpings. Imaginative vegetables, not full of hot water. Faultless overall.

Its been a while... and today we grabbed the bull by the horns and went back... teatime special! Yes the prices have increased but you still get a choice of 10 dishes and it's all £12 for two people.Food is great quality and the staff are friendly too!

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly waitress who asked us if we had booked a table, we hadn't, this wasn't a problem at all and she quickly showed us to a round table for six in the light and spacious conservatory. We ordered drinks at the bar, and not soon after we were invited to go up to the carvery. A choice of two meats, pork and beef, huge homemade Yorkshire pud, stuffing, a selection of vegetables including cauliflower cheese and two types of potatoes, new and roast. There was plenty of gravy and condiments to accompany the meal. The carver served the meat, Yorkshire pud and stuffing and the rest of the meal we helped ourselves. It was hot, fresh and delicious, the meat was tender and the Yorkshire pud was huge. We were pleasantly full but couldn't resist a desert too. The waitress cleared our plates and we ordered desert with her, we were given the choice of cream, ice cream or custard with all. The desert arrived and I can only describe the portions as huge! They were all of good quality and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant was very clean and bright. We would definitely visit again.

We were a large party - but the Northfield managed everything - incl. a complicated Carvery - efficiently and effortlessly. Very attentive to detail. Staff determined food should be properly hot - and attractive on the plate. Moreover, if Veg. ran out, it was promptly replaced. Good value, really. Shall certainly return.

Friday night at the Northfield is terrific for entertainment. Wonderful atmosphere and really pleasant staff.Tea time specials are very poular and very reasonable in priced.

Good value honest food from the on site restaurant well worth a pitstop if passing. Large car park no need to book helpful staff also do a kids menu .

We visited the Northfield with a group for our annual pre-Christmas lunch and ate in the large conservatory.Starters were Tomato soup, melon and Garlic mushrooms, all very tasty.For the main course we had the carvery, choice of three meats, very good portions and a choice of vegetables, although I would have liked to have seen some sprouts and cauliflower cheese, but that is a personal preference. The meal was piping hot and very enjoyable. There was a large choice of desserts, all very good, followed by tea or coffee.Service was excellent, especially from the young waiter Sam.

Straightway I was struck by how light & airy this Restaurant is. Very large floor space. Very helpful staff. The Chef carves the meat...then there are vegetables : to-day mashed swede, crunchy broccoli, peas, roast potatoes....and some delicious cauliflower cheese. And the puddings looked appetizing as well. Yorkshire Puddings need a complete re-think. Perhaps if they were smaller, thicker ...and cooked more or less to order. Otherwise, fine! And I shall return.
