An excellent little Craft Beer place. Cosy, friendly and a bit different from nearby bars. Craft prices, but really good beer. Great place to sit in company or on your own. Near loads of transport. Good value, worth more visits.

It's a welcome and welcoming alternative to traditional pubs. I'm not a craft beer fan, but Northern Type serves some very enjoyable ones on the taps. Also some excellent bottled German Beers.

Friendly, helpful staff.Bar serves a great range of beer on tap. There are a wide range of cans available in the fridges. A very chilled, & friendly atmosphere to spend some time over a decent drink.

£9 a pint in Eccles, really! Not that price in Monton.

Exceptional venue! The selection of beer is brilliant (unless you drink p*ss like Carling), and Dave is a bloody lovely bloke. Gave up dairy farming after and accident and threw himself into hops and barley, and I, for one, am glad!

Serving good beer. Working under difficult times

Absolutely adore this place and worth driving 100 miles back to my home town for (my brother thinks it's for him 🤣)! Served beers are well kept, interesting and often too strong to sell you a pint of 😉 and the selection of canned and bottled ales is superb and worth a look (they stock my favourite Northern Monk stout and Tiny Rebel ale so I'm happy). Owners are friendly, there are board games and no beer snobs. What's not to like? Are you there yet?

Good beer and atmosphere but pricey

Interesting place here, nice array of alcoholic drinks and friendly staff. Drinks here ain't expensive and so very affordable. Inside at the bar at back part of the bar room there is a longish table with some shelves nearby with board games that you can play, really good idea I thought! I did felt let down by decor with its attempt of trying to give the impression of a hipster niche type tap bar kinda sorta of place, as it looked like it was done on the cheap. The bar where they served from looked like a potting shed bench table from the back and looked untidy. Seating wasn't comfy, space is limited an so not much choice of chairs to sit on! Very cold inside, I had to keep my coat on as I felt a bit chilly. Nice try guys, but I think this place could be a lot better.

Really nice couple that run it, dead down to earth, cheap beer. Decor could get a good freshen up and the sofa is quite uncomfortable.

Visited it with two of my friends. I was amazed by the choice of craft beers they have. I went for non alcoholic options today and they were just brilliant. My friends chose one of taps first and then canned goods. You can play board games, which they have selection of. You can create your own gift basket of beers, ciders and snacks. Great idea. Also this place works as off licence and sells the beers and others. Eccles has it's hidden gems. This one is definitely in top five of them

I love love love the Northern Type. About time Eccles centre boasts a great Ale house! Always stocking up on local brews and independant brewing companies! Not a bad beer in the whole place! Plus the owners Dave and Jenny are the best, always welcoming great conversation and knowledge about the beer they sell! Cannot reccomend enough!

Great little bar/bottleshop, friendliest owners/barstaff ever,great selection of craftbeers on tap and in bottles/cans for takeaway too,proper local spirits,(Manchester Rum!),chilled atmosphere,so glad to have them!

This may not be the best bar in the world but it's definitely the best bar in my world. The owners and the staff are charming and the beers are out of this world. There's something for everyone here whether it's a session ale your after or a more adventurous beer like a parkin stout.

Great selection of canned beers with around 5 taps pouring too. Comfy venue and friendly owner. Shame that it's in Eccles and but hopefully it'll encourage a few more businesses to invest in the area. Wish I lived closer.

UK only craft ales, gin and even pop for the kids. Child friendly, staff friendly and not what you would normally expect from Eccles!

Once you've visited you'll wonder why you ever drank anywhere else. The best craft beer for miles around ever changing 6 keg line up, more bottles and cans than you'll be able to try (believe me Ive tried) and if that's not enough a few special spirts, cider and wine. Great atmosphere, owners and locals. The full package! Can't go wrong!

A novel and welcome addition to the diminishing drinking scene in Eccles. It is small and basic and that gives it a pleasant intimacy. It has yet to get a giant Sky Sports TV screen and juke box. Pricy but nearly always some good bottled beers and interesting ciders. Give it a try.

Great select of beers, not sure what the one star review was as this has never been a takeaway, must have stumbled into the wrong shop as weather spoons are further down the street. A good rustic feel, beers not the cheapest but you are paying for quality beers not quantity (John Smith's, fosters etc).

This place is absolutely fantastic. The owner Dave is a warm hearted proper Salford lad who will always offer good craic and even better beer. An absolute must for anybody who enjoys a proper craft beer. Take out available but by all means check out what they've got on! Couldn't ask for a better place in Eccles for a proper pint.

Favourite place in Eccles to go for a drink. Nice welcoming atmosphere, lots of interesting and unusual drinks. Great for craft ales. No cask, just kegs, cans and bottles. Closes early so get there early if you want to give this place a try.

Finally! There is somewhere for craft ale in Eccles! Great selection every week on draft and nearly always different. Lots of bottles too. A great place to sample beer from small local brewers, we have discovered a few new favourites. The owner is really friendly too all round great place. Definitely worth a visit

Fantastic craft beer pub. Just what Eccles needed

what a ghastly place used to be a fast food place and decor wise has not changed. beers where dreadful didn't see any that wasn't cloudy super chilled so you couldn't actually taste them. prices where extortionate, .higher than city prices ie moth bar and port street bar not even kept well. I went to sample some off the food unfortunately it was located on coffee tables and was being sampled by two dachshunds some customer had brought into the bar. disgusting. shame really eccles needs a real ale pub but definitely not this place.

Great Selection of craft beers and ales to take away or drink in the bar. Great, friendly staff - especially on Market days. well worth a visit. Cloud Water Brew co selection is excellent.

Amazing selection of craft beers in the fridge, plus six on tap. Beers from the fridge can be drank in or taken away. Wine, cider, vodka, gin and soft drinks available too. Fantastic atmosphere in the evenings and weekends. Family friendly 😀
