Staff are always welcoming and lovely, good menu and specials change regularly, we both had duck spring rolls to start they were delicious, highly recommend the highlander burger

First time visiting and the food was excellent 👌😋 service really good 👍 and friendly staff as well definitely be back 😁😋👍

First time on a Sunday with family, they had a vegetarian option. However, it came with fewer vegetables than the carvery options, and some veg missing. It's a lovely setting, will return to sample the bar as it is gorgeous

Excellent selection of food, great flavor reasonable prices, nice atmosphere and great service.

I was looking forward to dining at the North Bar but what a let down. Food was acceptable but the service was dismal, waiting for 30 mins at least for a drink, the waitress kept saying there is only 2 on the bar....... not my problem, so for over 1 hour we had 2 drinks. The owner was present as I seen her deliver food to a table but she had no interest in engaging with customers. Would I return, I would very much doubt it. Such a shame as it could have been a good opportunity in Peterhead.

We were staying in Peterhead as a base in February,we came accross the North bar so decided to go in that night ,from entering the staff were friendly the food was Amazing lovely drinks and it was great to see an old building being 're used the decor was of high standard we would recommend.

Very good food and a very interesting place. Very friendly and pleasant waiter. We ordered a plate to share that had a little bit of everything and it was great. It has a variety of cherries, a shame that we had to drive and we were only able to try the non-alcoholic one.

We had a lovely meal with our friends at North Bar Peterhead. It’s great to see new life in a building which has been empty for longer than I can remember. Good service, good food and nicely furnished. Well done to everyone involved in this project. The DUX board is a great talking point.

First time in here and it didn't disappoint us in appearance the place is really nicely decorated and has a nice atmosphere. Food was lovely but only lukewarm so that was disappointing but everything else was fine.

Whilst visiting Peterhead Prison Museum, we stopped at The North Bar and the food was simply 👌 excellent. Friendly staff and great atmosphere but not busy (by the way showing Euro matches). We will be back!!

Food was excellent. Not the cheapest around but worth spending the extra!

Went to the restaurant for a meal with my son. I had chicken kebab and he had the fish n chips for mains, was tasty and good size portions. The sticky toffee pudding was great, the sponge nice and soft and a nice toffee sauce. The decor was nice too, especially in the bar. My only gripe would be the size of the menu, its quite small.

Food be perfect We order day of the soup its be very good And same share plate for 2 its be fantastic I recommend it to everyone🫶

We booked a table for family visiting from down south, (11 of us) excellent service, staff were efficient and attentive. Atmosphere great. Food was good. Very clean. Very competitive prices. Cocktails excellent. Highly recommend, booking advised. We were there around 5 1/2 hours and only around £50 per person this was for food and lots of drink.

The food was delicious and two pieces of fish that size was amazing. Will be back.

Terrible food order 3 fillet Steaks 1 med rare 1 med 1well done all 3 came very well done so had to complain and return streak as too over cooked then got a new steak thak was a sirloin 😤 dessert was something you would serve at at a kids party absolutely shocking

Was in yesterday for the fish tacos and they were amazing. On previous visits I’ve had the Azeri platter which was delicious also. Another one to try is the borscht which I would certainly have again. The cocktail list is excellent too.

Very friendly bar staff first time in the bar it was quiet not many customers but its spotlessly clean and a affa fine pint

Visited North Bar a few weeks ago with my wife, had a fantastic meal in the bar. Service was spot on will definitely be back!

I seen the fish , looked a good portion , ordered it and got a senior portion at £17 was not impressed , partner ordered her main , then was told we got wrong dishes and there was no dish left so had to do without , she was given a pudding instead , we went home hungry , for the price we paid you would expect a reasonable plate of food

This place is amazing. Kristen our server was very happy and helpful. We visited with our 1 year old and he was very welcome

Service was atrocious and the manager was very rude and disrespectful. Will never return to this premises and I do not recommend it at all. Shocking behaviour. Food was cold and some meals missing out of the group. Disgusting attitude from the male owner. Should not be in business with at attitude. Went to complain about the meals being cold/ missing and was told not to come back and the customer “isn’t always right”. Do NOT recommend this place at all. Spend your money elsewhere.

Sunday lunch for Father's day - lovely tasty food, well served by polite and friendly staff. Quality menu which is well beyond the typical " pub grub" and therefore worth the slightly higher prices. Loved the retro sound track and how amenable the staff were. A good meal out experience.

Try calling to book a table from 3pm to 5.30 , on a saturday ,to try the place out for the first time , left messages to call back , still waiting no response .

First time to go here and nice feel and very nice décor. We went mid week and early for a meal so the stars for atmosphere reflects on this. Food was delicious and portion sizes were very good 👌will definitely visit again

Recommended restaurant in Peterhead in a former school. Maybe not absolutely cheap, but value for money is right! The new restaurant has only been open since March 2023 and has very friendly service! And received great tips for the area, thank you!!!😁🙂

Almost 2h waiting time, cold food, wrong orders, extremely rude manager. Do not recommend if you have any special dietary requirements:(

To say dreadful is to say nothing. We were full of hopes going to the North, but what we have experienced is beyond what I could call the worst experience. We have waited 30 minutes for first simple drinks to arrive, one hour for the starter and nearly two hours for mains, but waiting time is just an intro to the nightmare. There were four of us, two vegan, one vegetarian and one person who eats meat. We were happy to see menu had quite a selection of vegan dishes. Two of us ordered vegan burgers, when they have arrived I have noticed they looked exactly same as the non vegan burger served to our friend. After I asked waiter if they were vegan, it turned out they have sent us meat burgers, so if I wasn't vigilant I would have been fed meat. We were hungry so we ate those average, frozen like bean burgers that were brought to us as a replacement to the mistaken dishes. Once we were given a bill I have asked to speak to the manager who turned out to be a passive aggressive arrogant whose opinion on our veganism was that if we ate meat nothing would have happened as veganism is a choice not an allergy. People, this place looks great, but waiting staff (worth to mention very nice young people) are completely untrained, and a manager is an absolute example what manager should NOT be like, and how customer service should NOT look like. If you chose to visit, be careful if you have dietary requirements. If you can be served meat ordering a vegan meal, who knows what you can get if you were allergic. At the moment this place does not deserve even one star.

Place looks nice, staff pleasant, but..3 of us went on a Sunday for lunch, couldn't read the menu as writing so small had to take a picture on my phone... when meals did arrive about 30mins later one was ok the other 2 only the roast potatoes hot. Was over £70 for 3 main meals... Don't think we'll be back on a Sunday again...

Had to reserve a table as the restaurant has been really busy which we thought was a good sign. Ordered the battered haddock and my partner got the burger, was advised we would have a long waiting time as the place was packed. Got cocktails which was quickly served to us after placing our order, then our food came after a short wait. Food was lovely and filling, staff was pleasant and quick to offer help, thought the menu was fairly priced aswell, 5 stars will be back again.

A few drinks with my family, really nice place. Something the town has been needing for a long time. Nice friendly staff who know their stuff. A bit slow when it got busy but I am sure they will figure that out.

Was nervous from the recent reviews but please don't be put off by these! Absolutely fantastic food and service, very attentive and couldn't have done more. Starter we had was the trio of bon bons, the sauces that came with each one were brilliant. For our main we had the Azeri sharing platter which again was delicious, more than enough for 2 big eaters! Couldn't fault the restaurant and will definitely be back.

We visited on 1st April and unfortunately we won't be returning. Waited 15mins for someone to take our drinks order then 20mins for the drinks. In between that time we were offered 3 lots of other tables drinks! Starters took 45mins, we had trio of bon bons and unfortunately 2 were cold in the middle. I mentioned it to the girl serving and she just walked away! Main was chicken burgers which were ok but nothing special but at least they were cooked all the way through. Staff asked us at the end if everything was OK. When we mentioned the issues we had they said they'd had no training and that all the trained staff were working the bar! I feel sorry for the staff to be honest the management need to invest in them and train them properly. The main dining room really needs someone to be in charge. Unfortunately we weren't the only table that had issues we watched every table around us complaining. The place has potential but management need to have a serious rethink and run it properly!

Shocking service. We gave North the benefit of the doubt after our first visit however the second visit on 1st April was worse than the first. Our first visit we put down to teething problems. Second visit was shocking to say the least. Starters of the trio of Bon bons were luke warm and greasy. Not the nicest. The scallops although over priced for 3 small scallops at £12 were nicely cooked and tasty but after this everything went badly down hill. On our last visit 1 of our party had the Mac n cheese and loved it so ordered this again. He was horrified by what he was served. Recipes had been changed to nacho cheese instead of the nice creamy cheese sauce he was served 2 weeks previously. The dish was so cold that the grated cheese that had been mixed in with the nacho cheese sauce didn’t even start to melt. It was a big plate of rubber so we sent it back and choose an alternative. 2 of the party had the steak. We had to request steak knifes to cut through the steaks, they were tough and chewy. The hand cut triple cooked chips were cold and greasy. What was supposed to be pepper sauce was more like a beef dripping gravy . After an hour and a half the rest of the party were still waiting for there food to come out including the substitute for the Mac n cheese. We ended up leaving without any further food being served at the table. We were told there was a till malfunction however it was waitress service when we visited and there was the same malfunction on our first visit. Overall the food and service was shocking. Such a pity as Peterhead has waited a long time for this place to open. It would have been a massive hit locally if managed properly. Won’t be returning. No apology was given and from what I could see there was a full room of disgruntled diners who were having a similar experience. One waitress advised a table close to us that she was new and had received no training.

Great place for a drink. Dude behind the bar was super friendly and welcoming. The decor is nice and chill. Cool that it used to be a school.
