Lovely pub with good atmosphere.

Love their Sunday carveries, best to get there for 11.30 or soon after to avoid waiting for a table. Their meat is always of a high standard and a reasonable amount and their roast potatoes are usually lovely and crisp and small. They have table service and will call you up to collect your carvery so that the queue isn't too long.

Great pub , lovely staff , probably the best pub food I've had in yrs , very popular always full , great atmosphere, had starter , main , desert, and 3 drinks each for £ 77 id say that's good value

Very very busy Sunday lunch, however only waited 10mins for a table. No waiting for drinks or carvery. Very well organised. Service fantastic and the food was amazing!!! It is easy to see why it's busy here. We will definitely visit again.

It was my first visit to the Newdigate for a Sunday lunch. It was excellent, the whole team of staff work together brilliantly. Will definitely be back again.

Quality good, disappointing that only choice of 2 meats at Sunday carvery

Called in for a late Sunday night carvery was great. Service was excellent loads of staff that were really friendly and helpful. Not the best carvery I've had but definitely not the worst. Meat was tender but the gravy could have been tastier and the roasties were deep fried and didn't have much colour. Apart from that top marks from me.

Visited bank holiday Monday and it was manic! This did not prevent us from enjoying our visit, albeit a very noisy one. Staff were predominantly young females who jelled well as an impressive, highly efficient and hardworking team. Although some delays on service due to such a high volume of guests (we had reserved a table in advance), this did not stop staff affording us as much time as we needed to make our menu selections. Our food was delivered, piping hot, aesthetically presented and was absolutely delicious. My only gripe was the beef and ale pie that I and another guest ate, was way too salty, but as it was so delicious, we both eagerly ate it all. We paid the price later by having an incredible thirst! I will certainly return, although will select a quieter day and hope the pie is less salty as I'd really love to enjoy that again.

Good food and excellent service. Although it was very busy it didn't take long for the drinks to arrive at our table. All the staff were very helpful and they accommodated small changes to the menu

Had to ask for the table to be cleaned n the seats when we were shown to our seats The meals were fine although the steak was chewy The staff were great had two young children with us and they were really helpful with them The outside play area is good for children probably aged 3 and above All in all we enjoyed it

I have never known an restaurant to not take a booking in advance. We arrived for a table of 9. They took our name and gave us a buzzer to say when the table. The buzzer never went off. 1 hour 30 minutes later, we went to the front of , who were in different as to our complaints. They offered "2 tables close to each other." No concern was shown to our waiting time or care during waiting. Disgusting

First ever visit. With granddaughter and great granddaughter. Very nice food, both starter and main.

Came here on Sunday, not booked, looking for a table for four and one child. Told about a 45min delay in restaurant but could have a table outside and order at the bar. Did so and got our four carvery's within 20mins along with child portion lunch. The food was really good. So, a well organised pub, plenty of friendly helpful staff. Good facilities inside and out,including a play area for my granddaughter and me. We returned today, again unbooked for a table for two, and had steak's cooked as asked for which we thoroughly enjoyed. Return visit 16th August, since their re-fit. A good upgrade on facilities, they spent a lot and it all looks good. Outdoor dining under shade and upgraded play area.

Good vegetarian/vegan options. Staff friendly and professional

We haven't been to the Newdigate Arms for a few years, and we returned today, 22nd July 2024. The place has changed so much for the better. The menu is very varied and the quality of the food is great. It has a great outside area, which is covered. The staff are very helpful and professional. There is a fine selection of ales and wines

Tried to book a table for 9 for my mum’s birthday and they said no… we just have to turn up and with a couple of young children that’s impossible! How are we supposed to wait when they can’t even garuntee a table for us! So very disappointed and even though I have visited on many occasions I will not be going back

Definitely worth a visit! We Called in on after a walk and we were not disappointed one bit, the cleanliness of the pub, the bar service and food were 10 out of 10, only had sandwiches for quickness but it was great 👍 menu looked very good. Definitely recommend it! Well done to all the staff and management at this pub, absolutely brilliant 👏 👌

Went here with my colleagues tonight (Wednesday evening) , the hospitality server with short hair and gold chain was amazing, helped us over to a bigger table, ever so kind and friendly, had a vegan carvery and it was beautiful, I couldn't of asked for any more, all the staff were brilliant, thank you so much for a great evening xxx

Our first time here for lunch. I'll put this as simply as possible - excellent food, excellent beer, excellent coffee and excellent staff. Looking forward to our next visit but will book this time. We arrived early so managed to get a table straight away but the pub soon filled up which proves that other people agree with us. Thanks to all the staff 😁👍❤️

My friend who's local to the area booked Sunday lunch the day before. We were offered two times 12:30 and 2 pm but when we arrived at 12:30 there was a 40 minute wait for a table and we were told you can't book on a Sunday? No idea who took our booking but we went elsewhere. I was told the Sunday lunch is great.

A great pub serves excellent food (the steak and ale pie is a monster), has good beers/ales on tap. The staff are very friendly and helpful, food is served at a reasonable rate. My go to pub whenever I'm in the area.

Drinks and food served at your table by excellent service ,eat outside under cover on a nice day, children's menu, great place all round, back soon.

Meal not good sent back my homemade curry as sauce was like water and barley any chicken thigh present. Have had better cheap ready meal, replaced with pie which was good but mash potatoes really lumpy they over to replace but I left it but only a few on side. 2 had chicken wings meal was a joke 6 little wings, 15 frozen chips, and 50pence size coleslaw. My parents had OAP Sunday lunch, fair enough less meat but plate size was laughable and inappropriate. My son had to send back gammon of mixed grill as really salty, mushroom was left full of grease. Over priced not good food won't be returning in a rush as a shame as we had been regular Sunday here.

This is a great place for something to eat, whether it be lunch or evening meal. They have a great range of food to choose from, and it all tastes lovely. They get very busy at lunchtime, so I highly recommend getting there ASAP so that you aren't caught in the rush. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It has recently been renovated and looks great. They have disabled toilets, outdoor seating, and plenty of parking. The atmosphere here is always good. We highly recommend giving them a try.

Lovely decor and food consistently good Staff are very attentive. Unsurprisingly this means it gets very busy...particularly on a Sunday.

Lovely place to eat and I cannot complain about the portions. The steak and ale pie is the best I've had. They also do an awesome carvery but it can get very busy because it's so popular. The wait isn't usually that bad for a table on Sundays for the carvery.

Much improved from when I last went in five years ago

Used to visit often recommended to family but this time was appalling don't have a clue what oil they are using but it tastes foul waited over an hour for mains service was terrible.

Busy and far too noisy. No atmosphere really Food was ok, but service rather perfunctory.

Awesome food and great selection of beers. I’ve become somewhat of a regular at The Newdigate thanks to the chefs specials which are always great. Definitely book ahead if you can as it gets very busy. Table service is great and the staff are good.

Update 13/04/24 - came for food and wasn't disappointed! An extremely popular place, resulting in a 45 minute wait for a table. It was worth the wait though! All courses were well presented, tasty and served relatively quickly. Cracking service too. Will definitely be returning. This is a tough one to rate as I only popped in for a drink. What I did see, though, was an extremely busy bar. The food was served quickly and tasted great too. Staff and the landlady were really friendly too. Will be returning and will be trying their food.

It is very well run the service is always good and the food is excellent. The prices are good when taken everything into consideration.

Very disappointed with out meal, the floor and table were both dirty, we had to ask for these to be cleaned. The food took a long time to come out. When the food was served it was cold, no check backs were done during or after the meal. Also very sad to see another customer distressed and being sick due to having mould on her meal!!! How can this have been missed by the chef? A few other people also complained about wrong meals being sent out.

Get there early on a Sunday with as few people as possible in your group should you go there to eat, that is if you don't wish to wait over an hour to be seated at a table for your meal. Food once you were informed you could join the line to be served was OK but nothing outstanding, Carvery was £12.95 with a choice from 3 meats, 4 vegetables and 3 different potatoe, mashed, roasted, and cooked in skins. There is no reduction on Sunday for over 60's who may not require as large a carvery as other younger people. By the time we had finally eaten we did not fancy staying for a desert, although to be honest looking at the prices I would not have paid that much for one anyway. Overall it was OK but I won't be rushing to return anytime soon.

Had a lovely freshly cooked meal today. Very good portions, hot followed by very nice desserts. Biscoff sundae was big enough to share but the zesty lemon tart was lovely.

Lovely meal, great service. I would say that it is a small restaurant and the noise level can get quite high and makes conversation difficult. Desserts ate pricey though.

Had the beef lasagne (with about a tablespoon of mince in) The lasagne was more like a cold tin of Heinz ravioli with cold congealed cheese on the top, cold chips and a soggy salad. Absolutely vile.
