Mother India, food Indian Mothers would be ashamed of. We went in for a large family meal and celebration, after taking our order it took over an hour for the starters to come out. The food was overcooked and tasted rubbery. The naan's appeared to be store brought and manufactured in a factory. We then waited over another hour for our mains. The naan was the same, the curry was watery. We ordered a chicken tikka wrap, which was not cheap, what we got was the factory naan, the rubbery chicken tikka from the starter and the salad from the mixed salad. How do I know this? The lemon from the salad was still in the wrap... All in all we spent over £500 and 3 and a half hours of our time and the only thing we ate that was good, was the cake we brought with us. I've been invited to go again by others and genuinely told them to go to ASDA and get a curry from there, the naan is probably the same and the curry will be better.

The most expensive meal, one course each for 2, a shared bottle of cheap wine. Cost £61 and the food was so bad we decided not to eat it and took it home. Had to argue to get a plastic bag to take the leftovers home, only to have to throw it in the bin! Don’t waste your time and money, it was disgusting! I can’t even give it 1 star, stay away!

After paying £33.00 I was very disappointed the food was tepid when it arrived. I chose the butter chicken which was quite salty and the curry was watery the Nan bread was doughy also had the signature biriyani hardly any meat or prawns no salad or popadom thrown in can honestly say won’t be ordering again

Food quite nice. Though my friends korma looked exactly the same as my makhni, tasted the same and when explained to the waitress, she didn’t offer to help, just laughed and said “they taste different everywhere darlin.” I will say it’s a beautiful restaurant and hope it was a one off, but bad customer service.

We had a chick murgh lazeez and a south Indian garlic chicken, both were lovely. Good portions, great value.

Food arrived on time but was like warm

Ordered a takeaway and specifically asked for my dish to be mild and when I picked the food up it was far from mild, it was cold and due to the amount of chillies i wasnt able to eat my dish. It was not the best experience

Do not order from here on a Saturday night. I ordered at 6pm and my food came at 8pm. I was ringing constantly to find out where this driver disappeared to. The food came cold, I had guests waiting for food. Honestly what a shambles. The price you pay, you would think they would be a bit more efficient and prompt. The worker who dealt with the phone calls was polite but next time I’ll go and collect it.

Ordered takeaway. Had to ring after an hour and ten mins. Apologies be there in 5. 25 mins later it arrive and was cold. Prawns rubbery. Veg biriyani . Driver shoved food at me with no apology so told him I wouldn’t be ordering again.

Food is very tasty but I’d expect more generous portions for the money. Delivery was over 35 minutes late and they did not respond to my request for an update by text via the JE app.

Not worth the price this used to be the best curry around so disappointed

The food was very bland and greasy didn't enjoy it and was a waste of £30! And quite frankly have had better from other Indian take away.

Food tasted very authentic, service was very fast and helpful. Will be coming back again. Can’t recommend this place enough

Beautiful. Came for a friend's birthday meal this evening and we all agree it was absolutely fantastic. Great decor, love the chairs! The woman serving us was really lovely and attentive. The food was incredible! I had the salmon tikka starter, lamb gohst and egg fried rice. It all came out piping hot, delicious and were very generous portions. We'll definitely be coming back. Thank you, guys.

First time I've ordered from here for a long time. It was awful. I ordered a chicken tikka masala and a chicken madras. Both curries were the same colour. The tikka was a burnt brown colour and had a bad taste and was way hotter than any other tikka masala I've ever known. It wasn't eaten by my teenage boys. The madras also had a funny burnt brown colour and tasted burned and wasn't fully eaten as it just wasn't pleasant at all. The rice and nan were okay but mostly ended up in the bin. I'm offended that they actually served me that brown burnt rubbish and took my money from me. I even gave them a £2 tip. Worst £30 I've spent this year

The dish tasted pleasant but to describe the prawns as succulent jumbo sized when infact they are not even tiger prawns just your ordinary frozen supermarket prawns and for £26 for one curry and rice definitely will not be ordering again well over priced for bog standard food

Just come back from Mother India The Food Was Excellent Also Service was great it was my wife's birthday just fantastic will go to the restaurant again.

The receipt was FILTHY. 3 prawns in a Tandoori Jingha meal!!? Definitely won't be going to the restaurant if this is your standard.

Having celebrated countless parties at the New Mother India, We celebrated our Indian engagement this weekend by hiring out the whole restaurant for the afternoon. The food was outstanding, great customer service and with the ability to add our decor and music it made sure the ambience was perfect for the day! Thank you so much 😄

Ordered from here. Will not review the atmosphere and ambience. All respect to the delivery staff of the restaurant they're very nice, but the food was appalling. Paani puri, very measly quantity. Only 3 piece for £4 which was very disappointing. I don't mind the price as long as I enjoy the quality but even the quality of food doesn't match the standard for the price. The samosa chat was so oily I could have it with the Naan. It was literally just a samosa with Chole curry. No curd, no sev, no tamarind, nothing to say it was a chaat. The butterchicken was pricey and had a bad taste. The taste was just tomato gravy with salt. The only that was good was the Naan quality. Very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Awesome food, we are from London and was in Wolverhampton for a short visit and luckily ended up visiting this restaurant...feel like making the trip again just to eat here:)...the taste still lingers in memory...every dish we tried was fantastic.

Lovely meal this evening. Real old skool dishes like chicken curry on the bone and sardines with peas. Reminds me of authentic home cooked food growing up. Special thanks to Mish for an excellent service.

If you want a watery curry go here! £50 spent and it was awful. Called to let staff know and they just apologise. The issue here is they deliver awful food and its off there hands.. please avoid this place

The food here is amazing 1st time I've been and will definitely be returning 😋 the staff are so friendly and always smiling. If your looking for a great curry house this is 100% your go to place.

We have used Mother India for years and were always our go to Indian Restaurant and takeaway. I'm sorry to say it seems to have lost its magic. The last two takeaways have been average at best. The quality has definitely dropped and has lost the wow factor we felt they always had. It wouldn't take much for them to get back to their previous standards. Until them I'm afraid to say we will be using somewhere else which is a shame.

Hadn’t been here for a while. Always enjoyed the food and no different on my recent visit.

I have been a customer of old & new Mother India for 15+ years but sadly after recent experience I will seeking another place. There was a definite change in the food, service & of course the increase price when the new Mother India came so new didn’t mean better but I still gave my custom both eating in & takeaway. On Saturday 28th January 2023 I called for takeaway delivery at 18.10 & at 19.23 I called for an update when food would be delivered, 45 minutes to an hour is usual which I knew when I ordered though this was from experience not being informed they were short of staff. I was informed ‘the driver has just left’. I called back just after 20.00 for an update & was informed they did not have enough drivers or chefs tonight but my food had gone out. The person I spoke with discussed this with the manager who offered a £6 discount which I declined due to be too little amount -for me 50% should have been the offer. The food arrived at 20.30 & was nowhere near the quality of which I measured all other Indian food against. Saag paneer was bitter tasting & Kabli Chaana a horrible sludge. I ate little thinking the long wait had dulled my appetite however it tasted no better the next day. My advice is don’t waste your money -The New Mother India is not a patch on the old one & if you need a recommendation try Indigo in Warstones instead.

Easily the very best Indian restaurant in Wolverhampton. We get take out every week. Consistently excellent. Better than the Bilash and up there with the best in Birmingham. Even better since new owners took over. Would recommend highly.

Meal was served over and hour and half later and was over priced for what we got, and they had a party going on with loud music in the same room cordened off by a screen., we could not hear ourselves talking and although deserts were complimentary due to us having to wait so long the gulab jamun were raw and my lemon cheesecake had no flavour and the hot chocolate brownie was still frozen..

Love the ambiance.. food was delicious.. cant wait to again

Tough competition in Wolverhampton and customers were thin on the Thursday night ground. This is a surprise because New Mother India does superb food and is well worth a visit. Our waiter Mish was both kind and courteous. Definitely going here again.

What a little gem! I never thought I’d come across great Indian food in Wolverhampton. The staff were attentive, the atmosphere was beautiful. And the food was mouth-wateringly delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through or just craving great Indian cuisine.

Just had my first order and oh my god that was by far the best Indian iv had it was huge portions could easily feed two with one curry the balance of flavours and spices just yum the cheese nan was amazing they even did salt and pepper chips especially for me you are amazing keep it up new regular customer now

Lovely food, nice and relaxed atmosphere

I ordered a home delivery and it was shocking to discover the meal had be microwaved. The plastic container had been heated to such a heat it was still full expanded until it arrived. If I wanted a microwave meal I would have bought one from a supermarket not a authentic indian. Disappointing.

We called up last minute for a reservation for a group of 12 for a birthday meal and were assured a table would be ready for us. We had a baby & teenagers in our group and staff were polite and very accomodating. All our group were catered for from vegetarians to picky teenagers! Staff were very attentive and our food arrived hot & very delicious! Decor and ambience was lovely. We will definetly all be coming back to The New Mother India again. By far the best Indian in Wolverhampton! Thank you for a lovely evening.

We celebrated a special 25th anniversary party at The New Mother India yesterday. I want to start by saying how incredible the food was and the service was brilliant too. A special mention for the wonderful staff especially Rajan who was polite and very welcoming to me and all our family members. I have been to countless indian restaurants across the UK namely some highly commended and repected indian restaurants in Mayfair. I want to say this restaurant BLOWS them out of the water by a mile! I mean this when I say it I have NEVER been to a restaurant where the service and food have been consistently excellent. For me it means alot when a restaurant takes pride in ensuring each and every dish is uniquely made to the mentioned flavours and not run of the mill one curry base with different items added! Well done to all the team at NMI and a special thanks to the owners for helping us celebrate another memorable occasion...no doubt we will be back soon 😎

Arrived on time, table waiting, helpful members of staff. Order for drinks taken at table. Fast service for starter. Main meal was perfection. I could taste all of the ingredients in a perfectly balanced tikka. A wide variety of sweets. All of the staff were very attentive. Not the cheapest, but so far the best curry I've had. Recently visited the new mother India and the service was so lovely pleasantly surprised with the food and great service by Rajan & Simran.. The customer service was very good… will be returning in the near future…

Not only 5* in Hygiene Ratings equally 5* in Customer Service. Last week of September my Turkish friend visited along with his 10 year old son and I took them for dinner at The New Mother India in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton. The boy has just been selected for young team of Paris St. German. We ordered for him Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan bread. The dish was delicious enough to be ordered twice more accompanied by garlic and coriander naan bread along side our wine, they have top notch selection 🍷. The place is awesome for food quality, portions, service and above all staff etiquette. Highly recommend for superb dining experience.

superb venue we had a room hired out for a 30th birthday party. Food was delicious and portions sizeable really enjoyed my first visit to this restaurant the staff were very friendly and always willing to help with any requests we had really impressed and had a great night

Came here and will not be revisiting anytime soon. Service with a smile was non existence not to mention the customer service is terrible!! Customers are retained and continue to come back not just because of food but also the environment, the service, the respect and trust. Until you get these points rectified your restaurant will not do very well! AVOID!

A beautiful restaurant, very welcoming and well presented setting. Service was excellent, attentive but not in your face. The food was the best I have tasted in a long time. I work away and eat in a lot of restaurants, this was the best overall experience in years. Highly recommended and I will be back tomorrow. Well done to all!!

First time after new owners took over the premises..we were their for a 21st birthday celebration...the staff were polite and helpful, the venue was very nicely decorated and best of all the food was fantastic with the timing from starters to dessert on point.

The food, atmosphere and the staff were all absolutely fantastic. We all had an awesome time celebrating my daughter's 21st.

Had my uncles 60th Birthday lunch at Mother India yesterday and the food was so delicious…best lamb curry ive ever had! The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the service was exceptional. The interiors look newly renovated to a very high standard and its a lovely setting with even better food. I would definitely go again! Thank you for a lovely time :)

No complaints against the establishment. Prompt delivery. But unfortunately, the food wasn't great. Malai kofta had hardly any malai or paneer; seemed more like besan kofta. Amritsari fish was soggy. Naan wasn't to our liking either. Chicken bhuna was alright though.

Great food, excellent customer service, even though after finding out we were further out from the average delivery distance, they still delivered, Kept food separate after I explained child has a nut allergy. Definitely will continue to have their food. Thanks!
