The New Inn is a delightful place with Maxine and Gary the perfect hosts. The delicious food was served in generous portions in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere with an excellent selection of ales. We couldn't wish for more. Just one major issue, we live 200 miles away! Chris and Karen

Gorgeous setting, inside is lovely and cosy. Staff are warm and friendly. Food is superb, husband had a pie with amazing gravy. I had the cauliflower Dahl which was so good. Kids portions are very generous. We had a great time tonight and for a small bar it is EXTREMELY well stocked. Thank you so much for a memorable visit.

We walked 3.5 miles to The New Inn in the centre of Aberchirder or Foggy, as the village is known. The pub was warm and cosy with the fire in and the staff were delightful. Wine is available by the 500ml carafe and is very reasonably priced. We both went for the brie starter and the steak pie with fabulous chips. This also came with a Yorkshire Pudding and roast vegetables. The food was delicious and fresh and the welcome exceptionally warm. I would love to return on a future visit. My friend is now lucky enough to live close by.

Stopped at the New Inn for a drink when on holiday nearby. We were made to feel very welcome -the landlady even offered some samples of the different ales on offer to help decide on our order. Unfortunately as they had only just reopened the restaurant wasn’t up and running until the following week. Great service, lovely atmosphere.

the pub is very cosy and beautifull, we are very friendly welcomed, and the food is very very good. simple but tasty. a place to stop by if you visit this area. moreover the distillery of glendronagh os better to visit that the huge one. here you are not with the crowd of tourists and it's definitly the place to stop for the whisky visit and not to go to dufftown ...

Lovely food, home baked bread, pleasant staff. Decor in restaurant a little dated but not unpleasantly so...doesn't detract from the quality of the dining experience. Definitely worth a visit.

. . ¡Genial! Volveremos de nuevo. . . .

They catered here for my Mother-in-Laws surprise 80th birthday party. 3 course meal for 20+ guests/family was excellent as was the service & attentive staff. Owners went out of their way to accommodate our every request & cannot thank them enough for all their efforts. The hall/tables were decorated & warm interior & the service @ the bar was outstanding :O) Would highly recommend anyone holding/considering a similar event there.....was very pleased/surprised when eventually presented with total bill for food/drinks for the evening..........reasonably/affordably priced selection/menu. My overall rating for this restaurant is well deserved & thank you all there for a most enjoyable evening......& will sample/return for bar/restaurant meals in the near future :O)

Visited on 27th July for an early 5pm dinner with my 2 boys (6&2), wife, and wife's gran. Everyone who served us was welcoming and genuinely friendly. I had read about the handwritten menu and was keen to see if it was true which it indeed is, which I found very charming. My wife was in heaven with a baked brie on the menu for a starter, so that made her day! All the food was very well cooked and we'll presented. There is nothing too avant garde on the menu but we visited on the strength of the reviews of the quality of the food on TripAdvisor and it didn't disappoint. Everything tasted spot on. They were good with my 2 boys also, producing a couple of toys when they could see they were getting restless. Funnily enough there are lots of reviews from winter and spring time saying it's a bit cold in there, and I did chuckle because the wood burner was on at the end of July and although not unbearable nor surprisingly it was a touch too warm. A really lovely meal though all round and I would recommend and visit again. As a guide, most starters are 4.50 - 5.00 and a main course 10-12 unless going for the steals which were more at the 20 end. Deserts similar price starters. I thought it was good value for money versus the quality of the food.

We went to the New Inn on a dismal January night - the night after many roads were shut in the area due to flooding - for a birthday dinner (mine). It wasn't terribly busy (I've been in the past when it's been booked out) but the staff were attentive and we each were thoroughly stuffed after three courses each of proper decent home made food - talking steak pies packed with steak and plenty of extra gravy, big chunky well cooked chips, a friend who had battered cod said it was the best he'd had in ages, very tasty Clootie dumping, sticky toffee pudding, deep fried brie (starters) etc. All pretty reasonably priced. Real ales on tap and they're good at suggesting one for you. Cosy and warm in the eating area and looked like a good bar. This was my first visit and I'd go again.

We have recently moved into the village of Aberchirder and have eaten on a few ocassions at this wonderful little village pub/restaurant. You are made very welcome by the friendly staff, and the owners Gary and Maxine are so genuinely happy to see you and chat with you. An excellent choice of Homemade dishes are always available, and they are truly of a delicious and plentiful variety. Mix this with an extensive choice of real ales, a real coal fire and friendly locals and you have all you need for a great evening out. Well done to all staff.

First things first. This is my local pub which has been transformed by the new owners into a cosy, welcoming hostelry for all types of locals and visitors, and gets through a remarkable amount of real ale served from five handpumps. Last year it made its first appearance in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, an impressive feat in an area where lager and keg heavy are kingNow for the food. My wife and I have eaten here on several occasions with or without family, and have always enjoyed the good things that come from Gary's kitchen. Everything is home cooked and well presented in generous quantities at very reasonable prices. I tend to stick with the superb haddock and chips, while my wife loves the home cooked cold meats with salad. The locally sourced steaks are also excellent. Diners are increasingly shifting to wine and the small but varied wine list includes off the beaten track delights such as a Macedonian Vranec red.Highly recommended, and remember to book ahead!

We visited this place for lunch. The decor is as I remember it when I was a child going to a pub with my dad and mum. Great to find a pub that has stayed true to it roots and not minimalised or modernised itself with the times. The food was top notch. Great value for money. The chef hand writes the menu out so you never know what you will get from day to day, which I think it brilliant. Overall superb little place in a quiet town. Just like to thank the friendly staff and the chef for a great meal and experience. Will definitely be visiting again. Glad I found this place.

Stumbled upon the New Inn during a trip home. Even though i am local, had never heard of it.Walked in to find a pub that was full of locals, very homely and very welcoming. Landlord very nice. Food served was pub grub - hot and tasty. Portions large and price very reasonable. The environment was oldy worldy, tastefully done without being tacky. would have loved the wood burning fire to be on - it was bitterly cold.Ideal local place for the locals - i would be frequent visitor if i lived in village. If the fire would have been on, this pub would have been graded an excellent and we would have spent most of the afternoon there.
