Amazing sandwiches and coffee! Expensive at first sight, but packed with delicious ingredients and enough for two! Well worth a visit.

Amazing sandwiches! Had the kimchi melt and the tres hombres and split the two. Kimchi melt was out of this world good, and the three cheese in the tres hombre go perfectly with the side of soup, Smokey and stretchy! And the best thing is how filling it was, we had to take half of it with us 😂 The drink selection is also pretty sick too, plenty of choices, alcoholic or not. The best part about the place has to be how friendly the people around you are, super welcoming and very very accommodating. A must try for anyone who likes deli food and good vibes.

I stepped out of the Travelodge to look for lunch, and, noticing this place's board on the pavement, I penetrated a rough arch and yard to find myself the only customer in this interesting venture. It was raining, so I drew up a seat at a tin table inside, where I found the light a bit gloomy for reading my paper. The deli counter is set up on the inner wall of a fairly primitive space, perhaps an old garage or work shop, the rough floor painted blue. Two fellers were running the show; one on the till and serving, the other a big guy who made the subs. The one I chose was the "salami and mozz"--£10.00, but well worth it because it filled me up and I savoured every crumb. Watching the guy make it, it struck me he wasn't on autopilot, like a Subway server, but intently performing his craft. The massive result was delivered to me wrapped, though I was eating in. That salami was amazing--worlds away from the cheap stuff you buy in supermarkets. It had been thinly sliced from a salami hunk on the deli board, which made it delicate and meant I wasn't ingesting a colossal dose of salt and nitrates. With this came thick slabs of high-quality mozzarella, again delicately flavoured--not tasteless like the rubbery gunge on cheap pizzas. This was all finished off with rocket and large slices of tomato. Finally, the concoction was tinctured with an exquisite balsamic glaze. The bread itself was lovely and fresh. I absolutely relished this sub, because usually I find the flavours in such a thing overdone, with too much sauce and condiment drowned onto cheapo meats. Also, my Americano was excellent: they made it with whisked milk, which usually gets overdone--but they got that right too. I told the big guy how much I enjoyed the sub and had a chat with him: it was a pleasure to gain insights into his knowledge and passion. So glad I made the unplanned decision to try this hidden gem out.

Place for a longer leisurely meal - it is all cooked from scratch but so worth the waiting for. Taken over by new owners about 18-months ago, a young gent and lady. Both very welcoming. Had squid ink pasta and prawns and sea food linguine - good size serving and just delicious. Prawns clearly fresh. Good crepe afterwards also. Will be going back. Two mains, one drink and one crepe £40.

If you like your pizzas with soft sourdough (not crisp at all) that's fairly hard to cut with the knife provided then you should be happy. Other dishes seem ok. It's a bit of a café vibed rather than restaurant, but definitely restaurant prices. My real complaint and what will probably stop me going there again is that other than Cento Uno it's probably Surbiton's least friendly Italian restaurant.

The food was excellent and the waiter gave us great suggestions. I live in Central London, but would travel back to Norbiton just to eat here!
