Masaniello pizzeria in Kingston upon Thames

If you like your pizzas with soft sourdough (not crisp at all) that's fairly hard to cut with the knife provided then you should be happy. Other dishes seem ok. It's a bit of a café vibed rather than restaurant, but definitely restaurant prices. My real complaint and what will probably stop me going there again is that other than Cento Uno it's probably Surbiton's least friendly Italian restaurant.

Best local family run authentic Italian restaurant. We held our annual bank holiday family gathering dinner recently and they were very attentive with two of our youths with allergies so thank you. Food and wines just lovely

I was SO exited to try Masaniello pizza however when I ordered on Deliveroo pizza was soo bad, tomato sauce taste soo acid that gave a bad stomach pain.. mozzarella cheap quality, its written fior di latte which is not! I will not order anymore from masaniello, you can get much better tasty pizza locally :(

Somewhat disappointed. One felt that speaking Italian merited favoured service. Big mistake financially! It is not that the market for Italian pizzeria is in demand.

overall it is close to real Neapolitan pizza compared to other pseudo Italian pizzerias, but for the prices I would certainly go to a real Neapolitan pizzeria around

Ordered food over the phone for collection. Spoke to an Italian gentleman who told me it would be a 15 min wait. I arrived early to collect the food and maybe have a drink while I wait. Unfortunately the Italian gentleman with the glasses was not very happy to see me, I even heard him tel his colleague "I told him 15 min". He walked towards me very displeased and gave me the receipt without telling me the total amount or offering me a drink. I paid and then whent to get a drink from the shop next door and whent back to wait for my food. Food was excellent, unfortunately the service let them down, and never let your customers hear your comments 😅🤣. Good place to go though. Just wouldn't want to sit in after that experience.

By far the best pizza place in the area, never disappoints and the staff are always friendly. Very reasonable prices too!

The best GF pizza I’ve ever had!

It seems that the pizza is getting smaller and smaller while the price keeps increasing. We ordered 2x vegetarian pizzas and I could barely see the veggies, there were literally 2x extra thin slices of courgettes and 2x extra thin slices of aubergines. Pizza in itself is nice, nice tomato sauce, but the price does not reflect the quantity you get.

I went on my birthday very disappointed as I went at lunchtime had to wait 45 minutes for our main meal when it was luke warm. Really put us off as we had been recommend by our daughter

Absolutely awful pizza. We ordered two pizzas for delivery and neither were edible. It almost feels like the pizzas were made by someone who had "heard" of pizza before, and maybe seen a photograph, but had never tasted one before to know what the flavor and texture should be like. We threw them away and had a fry up.

A great little homely restaurant with a good menu. Took ten out for lunch here. Everyone enjoyed their pizzas. Their pizzas were good. The service was fast and the staff were very friendly. Thoroughly recommend Masaniello!

Small restaurant serving quality Neapolitan dishes. It get can really busy Friday, Saturday during dinner service so booking is highly recommended. The wait for food was a bit long but it didn't really bother us as we were enjoying good wine. Waiting lady still offered us some olives with bread and explained that there was an issue with our order. We didn't even notice. I Would definitely come back.

We had a lovely dinner at Masaniello. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating to our gluten free and vegetarian guests. They offered a GF substitution for the garlic bread starter. They also had two different types of GF pasta. Which was a nice change of pace. The GF spaghetti noodles tasted so much like regular noodles. For non-GF guests, the PARMIGIANA starter, RAGU NAPOLETANO, SCIALATIELI DI MARE, and HAMSIK pizza were delicious. It was the perfect way to end our trip in the UK! If we lived there, we'd definitely be regular customers!

Pizza like in Napoli! Don’t look any further if you want a great genuine Italian pizza made with the very best ingredients. No other pizza restaurants in the area compare to Masaniello.

Hands down the best pizza I've ever had, traditional neapolitan style and very reasonably priced. Also wonderfully friendly inside, and a great atmosphere. If you're after real pizza, this is the place to go.

We have been here a few times before, and normally chosen pizza, as they are some of the best I have ever had. Staff are friendly and the menu choices are varied. Also, in these days of rising prices, it is good to see pizzas from £12.50 upwards for eating in. A great unpretentious restaurant we will happily retun to again.

This is THE place to have traditional pizza. The staff are accommodating, food is really tasty and I love their coffee, perhaps it's just the atmosphere, I don't know but I love their coffee.

Great pizza and service..Would recommend booking as busy when we went and were lucky to get a table as before we had left all the tables were full in the early evening. Started with an Aperol spritz and then tucked into my Calzone pizza…..Versuvio or similar…it was delicious…Ricotta, pepperoni and Nduja.

Excellent pizza never be disappointed. Its a bit expensive but bug potion and kind of worth it.

Legit Italian vibes with amazing pizza. And seriously, their pistachiomissu - life-changing good!!! The team was super friendly, and the place is cozy and atmospheric! The pizza was so good and big for me, I had to take leftovers home—proper size for a proper meal. If you're into awesome Italian eats, hit up Masaniello Café Pizzeria for sure!

This pizzeria has an authentic Italian feel to it and we highly recommend it as the opposite to the mass production pizza restaurants that are to be found everywhere. Our server was Italian, the surroundings felt Italian and the pizzas tasted deliciously Italian. We had a family meal for a birthday and the wide selection of pizzas catered for our differing tastes. You obviously need to reckon on spending a little more than you might at a chain pizza restaurant but the difference is merited and that is not really a fair comparison in terms of quality of food and ambience anyway. We ate early in the evening early in the week when there weren't a lot of fellow diners, but I suspect that it gets much busier at other times, so booking is likely to be recommended.

This is by far the best Italian restaurant for miles - bloody brilliant pizzas, delicious pasta, amazing friendly staff (so lovely with kids) - fantasist for takeaway too. We have been so many times and never had a bad meal. Grazie!

Every area has that one pizza place where you're like "I'm gonna bring everyone I know here". Well, Masaniello is that place for Surbiton. Great dough, always fresh, great service, and very reasonable prices.

Update for April '23 - still excellent, a lovely alternative Sunday lunch, perfect pizzas, a treaty fried burrata and even kids portions of everything available. Really really good Neapolitan pizza. Tried two over trips 6months apart - the Vesuvio semi calzone (one end is folded, best of both worlds) with nduja is really spicy but the generous blistered crust gives you some respite from the heat, overall excellent. The second was sausage and friarelli (a spinach/broccoli like vegetable) which was also delicious. There are starters, pasta (the vongole with pistachio was brilliant and generous with the clams) and there are seconds for non pizza/pasta fans. Highly recommend this and the Twickenham other branch, support the little guy over the bigger chains when you can!

We ordered a pizza from Masaniello for the first time, and were so impressed with the speed of delivery and quality of the pizza. The dough is excellent - lovely leopard spots with just the right amount of substance; the toppings were similarly delicious. A truly Italian (dare I say Neapolitan?!) pizza! Grazie mille Masaniello!

Simply the best pizza I had in London! Small, simple restaurant with friendly service and great food. Our table tried other dishes apart from pizza and they were all good. But the Pizza... Amazing!

Love it - consistently excellent. Authentic dishes, super tasty and great portions. Staff are super friendly, really attentive and incredibly efficient. I adore the ‘RAGÙ NAPOLETANO’ - as did my parents and teenage son who all wished they’d ordered it too! Their meals were lovely but they salivated over mine LOL!

Delicious crisp bubbly dough and sauce that tastes of fresh tomato and is not too sweet. The service is attentive and slick, the atmosphere is freindly and the Montepulciano is really good too! I guess the only thing is that it looks a little underwhelming from the street, and the restaurant layout is a bit regimented, but perhaps that adds to overwhelming joy when your pizza arrives.

Our favorite local Italian. Gianni is a great gentleman - he always greet locals/regulars with a big smile and nice gestures. We’ve loved this place from our fist visit in 2018 and continue to do so. Needless to say their Neapolitan pizzas and pastas are exquisite! It’s casual and family friendly too. Go, relax and enjoy company with beautifully cooked dishes by skilled Italian chefs.

My family’s current favourite pizza place in south west London and Surrey. Lovely, friendly staff. Limited menu but done extremely well. I’d recommend booking ahead as it’s not a huge restaurant though have not had an issue so far. In addition to the pizzas there are a few pasta and other mains plus lovely looking starters (not tried yet but like the sound of the seafood options. Offer takeaway and delivery options too. Well worth a visit. Free parking nearby after 6.30 min-sat and all day Sundays

I have only ordered takeaway from Masaniello so can't comment on restaurant service etc. The two deliveries we have had were both excellent. Beautiful pizza with the superb little burratta on the side in a sealed tub so you can tear it on yourself. I think we had arrancini also which were great and a wonderful pork pasta. A fantastic little Italian we shall use again and again. They have a sister restaurant in Twickenham also on Church Street.

This Italian owned restaurant served us the best pizza we've ever had! Their freshly made dough was delicious. Moreover, the service was both friendly and professional. There were quite a few Italian speaking tables when we were there. I wasn't surprised, as this was/is flavoursome authentic Italian food. I highly recommend this place.

Loved our first visit to Masaniello. Can't belive we have never been before in the last 5 years. We had the calamari for a starter which was delicious, followed by a pizza and a pasta dish. Again, both were excellent. We finished the meal with the pistachi tiramisu which was fabulous. The service was also great. We'll be going back regularly!

My son lives in Surbiton and has been telling me about the amazing pizzas at Masaniello Pizzeria. Yesterday we paid a visit for the first time and we were not disappointed! The service was warm and welcoming and the pizzas were excellent. We will certainly be paying another visit, we thoroughly recommend anyone to come and experience this place.

Best Pizza dough I’ve ever had (and I eat a lot of pizza)! I went to Milan recently and shouldn’t have bothered. Very friendly, and happy to adjust ingredients to suit. I will definitely be back and am so enthusiastic I’m writing the review before I’ve paid!! Excellent value too. The Ferrari (literally-it’s red and has the scuderia badge) oven is fantastic.
