The Navigation Inn in Oadby and Wigston

They weren't serving food, but we looked at the menu for another time. Lunchtime food looked okay & it has a nice terrace outside overlooking the canal, which would be great on a nice day.

Had the cajun club sandwich and it was one of the best meals I've had for a while and excellent value

Have a lovly family meal for my partner birthday there was 12 off us food was lovly hot and looked tasted great many thanks to you all a friendly atmosphere

Called in on staying overnight on a narrowboat. We both had fish and chips, and a shared lemon meringue pie with ice cream, two pints and a large glass of wine for under £50. Excellent food, really enjoyed it, well done the Navigation.we eat out less and less these days because food and prices are not worth it and not very good, leaving you disappointed. This was great , highly recommended.

We have been here several times, so don’t leave bad reviews lightly. We have witnessed on numerous occasions smoking in the doorway bar end of the pub. We had invited friends for lunch and spent nearly £150.00. Cigarette smoke was pouring into the bar area, with the usual culprit smoking in the doorway, my friend asked him to close the door as smoke was coming in and one of our party is asthmatic, we were then hounded with a load of abuse both from several men an a woman. In order to leave the pub without incident I brought this to the attention of the bar staff, who ironically never heard anything. If you don’t mind smoke while you are eating then this is the pub for you, however if you want a social evening then stay away from the bar!!! The language is absolutely awful and what made things worse was a young lad with glasses trying to further wind you up. Smoking is illegal indoors yet the bar lady constantly turns a blind eye

10 of us went for mothering Sunday lunch we were not disappointed. The food was gorgeous and plentiful. I had the veggi option mushrooms and spinach Wellington with cream sauce-gorgeous. The rest of the family had roast dinner which they assured me was delicious 😋 the mums (3of us) were given free pudding. I had steamed jam sponge and custard and the rest had chocolate brownies and ice cream which apparently was divine! We definitely will be back and would highly recommend to anyone.

Great pub for walking to, dog friendly. Very friendly staff especially Dee. Food very good and large portions, very reasonably priced and fast service. Chef excellent.

Absolutely superb pub! Stu cooks from fresh! No microwave going on here and, after a broken glass, seeing Jay clean up, sweeping into every nook and cranny it's obvious why the place is immaculate! Brilliant venue, high quality food and staff anyone would be proud to have as part of their team. Jay's mum deserves a medal for raising a son who knows what mum's version of clean is and knowing how to achieve it! Highly recommended The Navigation!!!! Parking, views of the canal, lots of different areas to sit, so you can be as sociable or as friendly as you like. Warm welcome, beers kept to perfection! Clean toilets too!

Squeezed a large group in for a surprise birthday celebration without any notice, all the food came out hot and together, very good value pub food, will be back again in future.

Food was exceptional, portion sizes to suit Hagrid of Harry Potter! Bar staff friendly and helpful. Drinks choice good and everything was good price. Would recommend the pie and others food looked equally great. Dog friendly. Decor a bit dated but clean and tidy.

Stopped here on a bike ride, friendly service, great crisp system, lovely location. I will definitely stop here again.

Lovely experience at this place had drinks only but was sitting outside with some of the family on a hot summers day sitting by the seating area looking over the river..beautiful !!!

It was really busy as a sunny Sunday. Lockside pub doing food and music. It was a refreshing pint after a walk along the canal.

The Navigation Inn was a welcome refreshment stop after trekking along the two path. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Decided to sit in the garden overlooking the canal to eat. The food was cooked fresh and delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

Really friendly team and the best chicken liver pate! The ham hock pie was full with meat and had a base like a our should. Really enjoy it

I’ve been to this pub a number of times, but on this occasion it failed. Some items on the menu had already run out (late afternoon) or there was only 1 serving left. I felt very sorry for the 2 young staff members serving because they were really caught out in the middle of things. They were just not trained, or experienced enough to know the answers to most of our questions, but were polite enough to say we’ll try to find out an answer. The food we received was really tasty, although it wasn’t necessarily what the individual actually would have preferred to have off the menu.

My five friends and I had a really delicious breakfast on Boxing Day. Everything was perfectly cooked, nice and hot and plenty of it. Orders got a little muddled at times, but nothing we couldn't "swap" to the right plate! Our compliments to the chef, for a lovely meal and thank you to the young girls, who served us with a smile, in a cosy Christmas atmosphere. We'll done to all.

Went for Sunday lunch. Had 3 meat roast and pork and crackling roast.Followed by apple crumble and custard.The food was excellent . The apple crumble was amazing . Served by 2 young girls that were very new to the job, whom I'm sure will get the hang of it after a few weeks. They were very polite , service with a smile but just needed a bit more training. Overall a good meal and will definitely return.

Great atmosphere, food and service. The three of us had halloumi baguette, crispy bacon cob roll and prawn Marie Rose baguette. All orders came with tasty, crispy chips and overall we all agreed the portions were huge for what we were paying. There was lots of space, the decor was a typical pub and very clean all round. Definitely returning to try something else on the menu and will continue to pop in for a drink on our dog walk. Recommend!!

Shan’t be going there again! If anything, the food was worse than under the previous landlords. Chicken schnitzel and no ginger beer shandy, only lemonade. The chicken was on the whole, tough. Such a shame as the location is perfect.

We moored nearby for a night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Simple pub grub done well. Decor dated and the place was full of locals but the staff were extremely friendly. A good 4 ⭐ s.

Stopped off whilst out on the boat and had an evening meal. Unfortunately no steak available but the food was good, would definitely recommend the fajitas. Portions are large. Shelley our waitress was lovely and was helpful. Busy place right on the canal. Would recommend

Great location next to the canal. Friendly and welcoming staff. Not serving food, but they advised us to get a takeaway delivered, and they provided us with a menu for a fantastic local Indian, who delivered to the beer garden! Oh, and they serve great beer too!

Very friendly pub, beer excellent and good ambience. Unfortunately, not serving food. Interesting to see on a return visit just days after, the counter was now full of filled bread rolls and filled, crusty French sticks! Yummy!

Fantastic friendly and welcoming ambience. They are not currently serving food but they keep a decent ale and a good range of drinks. The locals include visitors to make you feel very welcome

Sadly they don't do food anymore, but they do allow you to bring a takeaway in. Well stocked bar and plenty of places to sit, there's even an outside seating/table area down by the canal. Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble 5✨️ hospitality 👍
