The Mushroom Bar in Newcastle upon Tyne

got my id stolen, Rung the bar multiple times and nobody could be arsed to pick up. thanks.

This place found my daughters phone that she lost the cleaner found it but still after 8 days they haven't returned it so I'm going to have to contact police to retrieve it I've rang email every day to no reply

The pits. And lots of underaged people. Informed the security but they shrugged and were very unpleasant.

I do not respect my little mixed raced 4 year old little sister being insulted by one of your bouncers , I am absolutely furious it’s ruinined my mates 20th birthday so thankyou I was nothing but respectful!!!!! Won’t be coming again and will be telling everyone I know to avoid!!!!!

On a Saturday night don't buy a single vodka at the first bar station when you enter. The staff use a hand measure not an optic and I didn't get more than 3/4 of a one sixth of a gill sized measure. They must be pretty certain they won't get a visit from the relevant authorities to be this blatant. No price list is clearly posted either as far as I could see. I don't mind paying a fair price for drinks, but they take the Micky here. To be clear, I don't think I've ever posted a review on this subject about any other pub in Newcastle, but when I pointed out the issue to the staff politely she just ignored me and poured an even smaller second measure for my friend's drink. I dropped the complaint paid for the drinks, it's not worth the hassle, I simply won't be back. There are dozens of pubs better in Newcastle...

Not really a place I would normally go but it wasn't bad and had an enjoyable evening.

Usually love this place but went last night and when I walked through the door the tall bouncer with tattoos on his neck had a lad on the floor and he was booting into him unnecessarily. The lad was already on the floor and the bouncer was continuously booting into him. When the lad eventually got up he was pouring of blood out of his mouth. This was obviously not a nice sight to see to start my night off. This is not the first time I’ve seen an issue with this bouncer I’ve seen him aggravating drunk people before and he is very aggressive.

Part of city pub crawl. Very nice venue. Good selection of drinks and varied music. I've enjoyed myself.

Cudnt move in thhe place cost 25quid for 3 alcho pop drinks took me nearly an hour to getthem drinks at the bar serving people they no or ppl they like before they serve you the drink got knocked all over you anyway it was that squashed so totally wasted me time there seriously the bar staff need to sort it out like ya go out for a good time not to standata bar for an hour shouting like a mad person cos no one is listening at the bar they no already who there gona serve n i wernt one ofthem terrible bar staff

Very quiet not many customers, clean bright area and bar good prizes good range of beer and alcohol worth a visit if you are in the area

It's an alright venue, definitely doesn't have the energy or vibe it used too being honest but I do love a skittles so... would probably go again just for that one drink!

Went last night (10th) with my son who is a wheelchair user. Door staff very accommodating and used lift to access downstairs. Bar staff friendly, prices low and music great. No reason not to visit.

Bouncers made comments to girls in our group and ejected us when we challenged them. Definitely won't be returning. Felt very unsafe.

Plenty of bar space with the right amount of serves so you don't have to wait around to get a drink for long. Bouncers seemed like they actually cared.

Great bar if you're a 5"5 female that doesn't mind getting floored by bouncers. I'll never go there again. I never have problems when I go out, it totally ruined my night.

Complete dive, I'd say nip in for a cheap treble on a night out but to be honest it's not worth it 😂 Better options on Big Market just round the corner, save your shoes from getting sticky and avoid this place!

Door men &bar staff need a good shake. After my friend &i repeatedly informed then that there was a major fight on the dance floor nothing was done. .does it take someone to actually be killed before they listen!?apparently that's just my opinion and was told to go home. How utterly PATHETIC.

Really like this place, not the biggest place to go for a drink but the music is really good.

Food place for cheap drink offers. 2 pints of Skittle for £5 will blow your mind. Went in at 10pm and most of the crowd was hammered. Great for a bit of entertainment.

Mint deal 3 trebles for the price of 1. You just can't complain.

A decent place to start off pub crawling. Space is quite well maintained and decent music. Star off for small dance floor. A dress code applies to this pub so please ensure you have a good shoes and plain t-shirt. No sneakers or written TShirts.

Went there for a mates Birthday. People in the group were nice so had fun. Nice environment and good music.

Very expensive compared to similar sized venues, not a bad vibe though.

Free entry club. Drinks were not too expensive and the place had some great music throughout the night. They serve Amstel beer too which was a bonus

Good place for drinks and music

A stead fast bar that offers a good selection of cocktails. The bar has really turned itself around in recent years. It has a tendency to attract some roust folks on a Saturday night, making itself into a temp nightclub.

It was quiet when we visited but it is a nice looking bar. Small dancefloor is my only negative thought
