Celebrating a family birthday. Rammed to the rafters - so clearly the hype of this place is working its magic. Been for wine tasting before and the setting is lovely. However, plate sharing is a great idea but the bill ‘mounts’ up too quickly. The pizzas were ok - when they arrived with some unusual toppings. However, the biggest dissatisfaction was the Greek salad as a main - utterly unappetising. A large wedge of bean shoots (straight from a packet I assume) with a sprinkle of almonds and pomegranate with a few fried halloumi squares - hardly justify the £14.95 price. Quite inedible and no staff member asked why it had not been eaten. Not an olive/tomato or purple onion in sight! Utterly disappointing. Won’t be revisiting.

Unfortunately another underwhelming experience at the Mount Vineyard restaurant. Visited here a year or so ago and was underwhelmed last time around - friends booked here again as they seem to like it. Nice ambience but I suspect that is what you end up paying through the nose for. One of the people in our group had a starter that had to be chased up and was measly for the price being paid. Everything generally is pretty expensive for what it is - pizza's are ok but nothing out of the ordinary and unfortunately I do need to agree with other recent reviewers, some of the staff were standing / leaning around the prep area looking sometimes quite bored. Gave this place another shot but never again.

We visited for the first time for our 10 year anniversary, as we had many recommendations. On arrival the setting is beautiful, but as soon as we walked in the restaurant the wet floor was very slippery and dirty, a bucket next to my seat (which when it rained splashed my leg), and was very loud, and £7.95 for a small wine. We ordered pizza each, which looked amazing but were absolutely drowned in oil, we spoke to the waitress who said at first it was chorizo oil but it actually had been drowned in chilli oil and garlic oil and even she agreed it was not usually like this, so the food went back. My partner changed his order having the cheese pizza which was way over powering, and even changed one of the cheeses for chicken, but could not stomach the full pizza unfortunately. Mine the second time round was pretty good, but was just the cheese & tomato and I asked for the oil on the side. When I asked for a large wine (as in a. 250ml) the response was, I found, a little rude and blunt a little eye roll, and a very monotone “yep” didn’t fill me with confidence. We then observed the waiters or as I was told they are called “food runners” ( who are all young adults) touch the tap screen to I presume check orders, and then proceeded to put his hand in the seasoning, without washing hands, also was these food runners who finish the pizzas put the toppings on and this is why my pizzas were frowned in oil. Overall pretty disappointed seen as I had high hopes, one of the waitresses however apologised and gave us a free glass of Prosecco and took 2 of the drinks off the bill to apologise, which was appreciated, but £66 for 2 ok ish pizzas and a large wine and a cocktail seemed very excessive

As a wedding anniversary present we were looking forward to celebrate our special day by having Lunch at the Vineyard. OMG we wished we had not bothered! With With 45 years experience in the high end hospitality sector the food served was tantamount to daylight robbery. The English Cheese Board, bearing in mind was marketed as 'a sharing platter' was a rip off. Six hard different shape crackers and wait for it: 3x 4mm thick but no more than 100mm x 20mm bits of cheese. The side Ceasar Salad consisted of 4 leaves probably 5 croutons bits of hard cheese but definitely not Parmesan and some dressing. When asked about the meal if everything was OK we did say that the food portions were too small but this fell on deaf ears. Probably not surprising because the majority of staff looked like six formers who are cheap to employ and seemed quite happy hanging around in the background engrossed in conversations with eachother. We left bitterly disappointed and went on to an excellent pub to enjoy a delicious meal.

Went last week for my birthday. Food not cheap but was really good. There seemed to be a handful of staff working whilst the rest stood around chatting and on their phones including the manager. After 25 minutes of our plates being empty I went up and asked for plates to be cleared and for desert menu. The manager started to make excuses about having to look after a wedding at the same time she was incredibly rude and utterly useless and they added a £13 service charge which I got them to remove. Great local venue but will not go again.

Luckily we got a picnic table outside as it was heaving and you weren't allowed to order food unless you had a table, even though we brought a picnic blanket. Food was basic but ok, although the sharing meat starter was disappointing and seriously over priced see below pic. The highlight was the wonderful waitress Holly. Who could not have done more. We all thought she was amazing.

We had booked a table online earlier in the week but when we arrived it was closed, if we had checked the opening times we would have realised this, to make matters worse when we arrived for our second booked dinner they had lost the booking but as we had an email confirming our booking we got a table, that's the gripe out of the way. There were a lot of people dining inside and outside, we were inside and had no problems with noise that others had complained about. The food menu is a little light on selection but the food is obviously prepared by someone who understands how to take a good meal and make it excellent, how to match ingredients to enhance flavours. Overall the service was good considering how busy they were although my breads arrive after my entree (small meal) Tuna. The Tiger Prawn Pizza was among the best I have had. There weren't as many wines made by them as I would of expected at a winery restaurant (I have been to dozens) but there was a very good selection from elsewhere although some premier wine regions were not represent, I guess I being picky now. On reflection I would go again.

Went for dinner with my kids (teenage). We were one hour early (miss-booked from my side) and they were accommodated after having a drink at bar. We had vine leaves and peppers for starters and they were amazing. Pizza (we waited about 40 mins for this) but was excellent, we really enjoyed it, best pizza we had. Chocolate melt for desert was also amazing, we ordered extra. Waiting staff was very young but very nice and friendly, which is great to see in the youngsters. Will come back for sure!!!

Excellent quality food and ambiance. The crayfish salad was a joy and good value. Pizzas are great too, more like real Italian. Red berry crumble also a stand out

Did not have a booking, so was a walk in and was accommodated nicely. Service very good and choice of pizzas very good. Vegan options available. Good selection of wines. All open plan restaurant, so can get a bit noisy, but all in all very good and would go again. A little bit out the way and a bit difficult to find, but free car park with no restrictions. I saw one table and they had a dog, so maybe dog frirendly?

Arrived at 12.30 with two small children finally got our pizzas at 1.45!! 75 minutes to cook two pizzas the kids were hungry and unhappy. The place was rammed perhaps it would be better to have fewer customers and quicker service. Will not return!

Arriving by car in the dark, I struggled to find the entrance, car park or restaurant. I first ordered a glass of TMV sparkling wine for almost £12, but sent it back when it was little more than 2 sips. Next TMV Bacchus, which wasn’t great followed by a rose that was so acidic I couldn’t drink it - very disappointing all round. The pizza was excellent but the poor acoustics and background club music meant conversation was impossible! On leaving I ended up in a field following the exit signs.. and will not be returning. I can only assume the day time wine tastings, which are highly rated, are a very different experience.

6 of us, fabulous location . Acoustics were quite bad and none of us could hear each other ! We are above 50 though! I think if the roof was open or we had been outside it could have been better. However the wine (I had their own sparkling wine ) was fantastic , although expensive. The food great for what it was, pizza , sharing plates etc. Nothing extravagant but all lovely. Staff were brilliant and put up really well with us changing our orders and being loud and laughing …. We will definitely go back , as such a lovely venue.

My wife and I came for their wine tasting at £35 a head which was a 25th wedding anniversary present from some close friends. With 40 guests having four very small glasses of wine with a similarly modest selection of biscuits, cheese and chutney it didn’t feel like great value. We’d booked lunch immediately thereafter. Sat down at 2pm. Shared appetiser was a garlic stretched pizza with mozzarella and caramelised chutney - nice. Entree was two pizzas - The Catch (fish based) and Panko’d (chicken based). If only we’d known how heavy handed chef was with the salt… Then we waited and waited (and diners around us waited too) and waited a bit more. All this time boxed pizzas for takeaway diners outside were flying out the door… Eventually our pizzas arrived and although presented well whoever made them was very heavy handed with salt. A word of warning - ask for no salt to be used or make sure you have plenty of water on the table! Accepting it was a Saturday afternoon the kitchen clearly couldn’t cope as what we ate was hot but service was very slow. A hour and a half for our meal and we weren’t the only people - some around us kept asking for updates from the waiting staff. Overall would we return - no. Slow service and generally poor value. The best part of the day was getting some of the spicy tomato chutney from their shop which was served with cheese and biscuits as part of the wine tasting.

We visited the mount vineyard for a wine tasting experience which we enjoyed. We then had a table booked in conservatory restaurant. We found the prices were very expensive and food was ok. We had a deli sharing platter which was nice, the portion size of the ham and cooked meats was poor. We ordered the the spud side dish which was full of rocket leaves and tiny portion of potatoes was poor. We had the catch pizza that tasted very dry, they forgot to put the cheese on the base and toppings were very poor,we ordered another catch pizza and they did manage to put the cheese on the base this time. The toppings were very poor and pizzas were very dry. The service was ok and they did add 12.5% service charge. I wouldn’t eat in the conservatory again found the food we had all the main ingredients were very skimpy. The vineyard itself is very nice, but to eat there is a no no

A very picturesque site in a lovely village. 5 min walk from the station. Had a meal and wine tasting experience. The meal was high quality, pizza's cooked fresh and a bit different from the norm. The wine tasting was a bit of a disappointment, only 4 wines tasted in 90 mins. The first time I have had to use the same glass for everything. Little interaction with the host, who gave a brief talk about each wine and then disappeared. The tour at the end was very superficial. Lovely spot, but tasting over priced.

Natural fauna and flora surrounding the restaurant is the only good thing about this place. Highly disappointed with the food, service and lack of basic humanity or empathy shown by the staff. We had ordered food and drinks. Early on weather was fine and we were in middle of our drinks and bites when it started drizzling a bit. I went inside to check if there is any table just in case if it poured heavily. The staff said it’s all booked and rudely said you should have booked 2 weeks in advance. Looking at half the place with empty table I said is all those table booking starts now? Without even looking at her booking she said yes this place is premium so no place is available now. I requested to process my order quickly and went back to my table outside and waited for my food order. No surprise the food came 30 mins late by that time it started raining heavily. I again went back to see if the staff can allocate the one of the empty table for few mins to eat our box food to which came a firm NO. Another family who were sitting outside and next to our table were offered the table for an hour. The only difference was the skin colour. It is a shame the self proclaim high end restaurant could not even teach their staff on basic awareness of equality and humanity. The food itself was not that great as the chef bunt half of the pizza base. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would advise the owner to make sure their staff are trained on equality, diversity, humanity and last not but the least basic customer service.

Menu is focused on pizzas (but very eclectic mix of toppings - definitely non market standard), salads and cheese/meat sharing boards, plus a wide choice of desserts. All the food we had was excellent and there was a very wide choice of wines (unsurprisingly) - we had the Mount’s own Bacchus. Dining area is very light and airy - whole roof retracts on sunny days. Also an outside area for late turn-ups. Dog friendly. Shop and winery on-site. Service very good and friendly. We very much enjoyed our Sunday afternoon here and will return. Note - easily accessible from central London as Shoreham railway station only a 5 minute walk away.

The Mount Vineyard restaurant did not disappoint with a fantastic coronation lunch. We enjoyed a selection of delicious appetisers and a specially prepared coronation quiche, along with wood fired pizza and superb wine and cocktails. I especially loved the coronation special - Strawberry Royal. The coronation was shown on a big screen so we could watch it in bits and pieces while enjoying our lunch. A perfect day with excellent service and a wonderful setting to escape the rain.

We liked the pizzas so much we returned in two weeks. We visited on a recommendation of a friend, they said the pizzas were lovely, and they were correct. The serving fe was friendly and very efficient. The restaurant is based in the vineyard and you can buy the local wine by the glass or bottle. Over the two visits we tried three different pizza’s and all were excellent.

We live a couple of miles away, so have been here a few times the last couple of years. Some of the best pizzas going, with fantastic salads to boot. The breads are great as well so if you’re into this type of food then it’s an excellent place to eat surrounded by the vineyards and lovely countryside. Food is reasonably priced for what you get, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is always nice and staff always friendly. Menu is limited if you’re not up for a pizza or posh salad, and you have to stick with these for children too. Would highly recommend though.

We order delivery from Seal Kebab and Pizza all the time. The portions are decent and the food is good quality. They also deliver to us in Borough Green. Would def recommend them as the best local kebab place. Wish they did chicken Döner, but the lamb Döner with chicken shish skewer is a good proxy. The pizzas are also good if you're not in the mood for kebab.

My wife had visited the Portobello Inn during the week, Steve the landlord said how good his gravy for Sunday lunch was and how he starts it on Wednesday. so we had to give it a try and man it was good I had the Beef which was superb and my wife had the lamb which was gorgeous and the gravy was heavenly the horseradish put hairs on me eyeballs!! It was rather warm Service was prompt and freindly and the pub was spotless and dog friendly we will be returning in the near future. Over all excellent and highly recommend
