Excellent place. This has changed so much in the last 10 years. And for the better too. You can order from the bar or get table service if wanted. The weatherproof outdoor area has massively improved the amount of table space. The food menu is also very good.

Stressful day and passed by for the atmosphere and a non alcoholic drink which non appealed . Thinking of having a low alcoholic shandy but thinking what type and .asked.about the % of alcohol. Disappointed the lady serving did not know. She said Foster is the lowest. A customer advised me. He had a positive answer.

What a great surprise this place was! Walked from my friend's house nearby in the lovely sunshine. The pub looked really nice with its flower arrangements. A very warm welcome awaited from the bar staff where we enjoyed a couple of really nice pints of Camden Ale. Decided on freshly made pizzas which arrived pretty quickly and was extremely well made. I had the Hawaiian Hot and my friend had the seafood. The choices on the menu were extensive. What really made it a great couple of hours was the bar and waiting staff. Very attentive and good fun. The pub should be glad that they have them. Thank you.

Visited the Portobello today for an afternoon meal with our family and friends. This was my first visit here and I was so pleasantly surprised. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and accommodating, service was quick and the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the service was brilliant and the atmosphere was great. I felt welcomed and comfortable and we all left happy. Will definitely be visiting again! (The Biscoff cheesecake was amazing!!)

It's okay, but not a special place

I took a friend for lunch on a Thursday, lovely welcoming atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The food and drink prices were more than reasonable, a large wine, a Kopperburg, 2 starters and 2 main dishes for less than £50! The pub decor is very nice and it's well laid out, not cramped at all, overall a very good experience and I'd definitely return to The Portobello. 10/10 🙂

Beer was good , we had 5 Steaks on the stones, great price and great food I would gladly recommend their Steaks on the Stones to anyone, and the staff were excellent, well done.

It's OK, I wouldn't make a habit of going here.

Often been past this pub but never been in. So, because of circumstance I ended up there, and I have to say I liked it! Quite compact inside, but with the big tented bit on the side, can hold a few. Was surprised that table service for drinks seemed the norm, which was nice! Amyway, stayed for 3 drinks, and on the strength of that, I'll be back. Good pub, good staff and good prices. Recommended.

Gr8 pub had really good night, service was really good all night didn't have food so can't rate that I was at a party so atmosphere was good only reason I've not rated 5 stars is because it shut quite early 11oclock but still really nice place

Friendly staff and great food. We ate there four times in five days.

Spent the afternoon here today and despite there being a wedding reception held there, we did not wait at all for our drinks and we did not wait for our food. The staff are very pleasant and friendly and the the pizzas we had were the best pizzas we have ever had. A wonderful afternoon spent here. I would highly recommend a visit to this pub.

Visiting the area for the weekend and was looking for somewhere for a bite to eat and found myself here which I am indeed grateful for because the food was outstanding the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was very calm friendly and totally enjoyable. I had the fillet steak which come on a hot stone for me to cook just how I like it which was a first for me but wow what an experience I totally enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a steak for their lunch or dinner! I will definitely be back again next time I'm in the area 11 out of ten from me ! Well done team 👏

Went to a 50th wedding anniversary meal

Had a family celebration here last night, the staff were so friendly and attentive, prices really reasonable. I had the steak on the stone, it was fantastic! Everyone really enjoyed their food, came in good time and was really hot. Really recommend it, and judging by the full car park, full bar and nearly full restaurant area, others do to! Will certainly return 👍🏻

Visited here today,was,staying at Brands hatch Hotel,..food was lovely,and large portions..I had just 2 starters and was plentiful...the young lady that served us went far and beyond and nothing was too much trouble...definitely would recommend if your staying locally.

Just to be clear my scoring system: 1/ Don't go, just don't. 2/ I can't recommend going 3/ I enjoyed it but probably won't go back 4/ I enjoyed it, would go back especially if invited 5/ I enjoyed it, would invite others there myself Honestly I was a touch worried when I entered. It looked just a little bit tired and like a local pub. Should have realised that this just meant it hadn't been turned into a sterile gastropub chain... Because I had the steak. On a hot stone. It was amazing! I love nowhere near... But genuinely if I was anywhere even close I'd go back just to eat that again!!! Service was great and the marquee although temperature went up and down a bit stayed warm enough to keep us comfortable. That steak............

Absolublte little Gem of a pub. Popped in on a very busy saturday night. No room for us to eat or even for a drink. Steve and Charmain were great, regardless found us a table and made us welcome. Having food two nights running. Thought we were stuck for food options but this is fantastic. The home cooked pizzas are wonderful and the steak served on it's own grill to cook how you want it is beyond words.

Despite being really busy with another big event, the team kept us fed and watered with no delays. The food was delicious and we all had a lovely time. Brilliant 👏

We turned up on the off chance of getting in and it was very busy. But the young lady got us a table in the marquee part in no time. It was well worth going to. The food was great and the staff great as well . Well worth the walk from brands hatch but it is abit of a walk

My husband and I had our wedding reception in the lovely marquee. All white drapes and fairy lights. Very pretty. We opted for a hot and cold Italian buffet for 30 guests. OMG, they did us proud. The enormous amount of food was delicious. I have some fussy eaters in my family, but not one moan from anyone. Very attentive, hard working very friendly staff. All credit to Charmaine, her family and the bar staff. And all on a day with heat of 38c. It really made our day even more special than we ever thought it could be. Hope to book the marque again soon for a big birthday coming up. We have used the restaurant several times since. Always very nice food. Thank you Portobello for such a special, wonderful time.

Tonight enjoying a drink with a friend. Ordered a steak on a hot rock. Lovely peppercorns which I sprinkled on my steak which was cooking on a stone. Excellent salad, chunky chips and onion rings. Recommended from someone who ate steaks in Latin America. 9/10.

One of my all time favourite places ever. Perfect service, just the most amazing kitchen and it's affordable. I am thinking of excusing myself with coming back to BSB only for being able to eat their. We were there nearly every evening. Just don't ever ask yourself to go somewhere else.

Very kind owners. I'm a delivery driver and I deliver to the kebab stand in their carpark. They're always very nice and make conversation. Amazing atmosphere inside too!

Have been down a few times the last week as we are working up the road, it has been fantastic every time. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is off the charts. Cannot recommend the Meat Feast pizza enough, it’s banging.

Very nice family pub will be back

Arrived on Saturday evening to watch the CL final and the place was incredibly busy, but the lady in charge moved a table to get us seated. The very young bar staff were absolutely top class, smiling whilst ensuring everyone had what they wanted. Cannot praise them enough especially as they were apparently short of staff that evening. Makes such a difference to get proper “customer service”, if only big business could understand this. Well done to all the staff!

Great local public house with friendly staff . Menu is great . Publican's Steve and Charmeine have been brilliant over the past few years with COVID and everything. Cooking and delivering meals to vulnerable people in the village. . They are a true asset to the community. .

Visited this place as part of a golf trip, 16 people turn up and we were well looked after by Management and Staff, food was good, we were a bit noisy, but staff handled us perfectly. Thanks for a great time.

Very good roast on Sunday! Stratesrs were great success! Chicken wings flew out of plats, garlic bread was very good, my fried calmari was great! Roast dinner was good , children portions big sizes good variarity. Swift service , really swift even lunch time on Sunday!

Great Pizzas and table service for beer with sky sports tv’s!

I was involved in a car accident just outside this place a few weeks ago, and the staff here were the first ones on the scene. Everyone, including the customers were so lovely and reassuring. I was injured and pretty shaken up so they helped me into the building and gave me a cappuccino (which was delicious) and a glass of water and some paracetamol to help with my pain. I couldn’t use my hand so a member of staff (I think she is the landlady) took photos of both cars and the scene for me and facilitated the exchange of insurance details. Meanwhile another member of staff cleared up the debris outside to make it safer for other people driving by. While I was here, a group of locals let me sit with them and chatted happily with me. They have been frequenting the place for many years and still love it there! Another customer wondered over to check if I was okay and asked if I took sugar in my cappuccino. Seeing as I couldn’t put it in myself, she did it for me, which I thought was really thoughtful. I didn’t get to eat here, but the drink I had was great, the atmosphere was super relaxed and friendly, and from everything I could see, the staff were fantastic and very efficient with their customers. I will definitely be going back there so I can actually enjoy it fully!

Popped in after hearing good things was so surprised at how smart the place is and a fantastic covered outside seating area great choice of lagers and the Italian pizza and pasta choice is good and great value the wife’s bolognaise and my meaty pizza was as good as I’ve had anywhere
