The Moss Bank in St. Helens

Tried our luck on a Friday night without a booking, even though it t was packed out, the host Amy found space for us. Nice vibe in the pub, was my first visit and it can be uncomfortable sometimes walking into a local but it was fine. Staff were really lovely and chatty, Amy and the server at the bar who took the order. (Didn’t catch her name). Nice layout in the pub with the bar at the centre. Food was great, quick service, food was piping hot and tasted good, I ordered Cock & Bull which was served with rice & chips, large portion size, friend ordered pepperoni pizza which was a good size and didn’t look like a frozen pizza so I’m presuming freshly made. Definitely be back to try a Sunday roast

This amazing pub serves the best home cooked food, we’ve been eating here for a couple of years now and never had a bad meal. There’s always a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and the furnishings are gorgeous! We had a large family get together Christmas 2022, couldn’t get in last year but would HIGHLY recommend The Mossbank for all gatherings, from funerals to parties, you won’t get better value for money in deliciousness anywhere else!!

We were welcomed by pleasant and friendly staff. The food we ordered (Gammon and Egg) and (Wholetail Scampi) was excellent. Freshly cooked and very tasty and very generous helpings. We certainly will be returning. Compliments to all and the Chef.

Ordered the 2 courses for 15.95 delicious and plenty of it! Had to ask for a little rest inbetween courses lol Chicken goujons, patè, steak pudding and lasagne all delicious and tasty. Really nice bar and kitchen staff will deffo be back again, never disappoints😊

Visited with family and the dog. Had multiple dog friendly areas which was great. Staff were friendly and polite and the food was brilliant. the portions were huge and great value for money! Will be back.

Food was excellent - bar women was polite, helpful and couldn’t ask anymore from her. Definitely will be coming again, amazing experience.

Have been in a few times now and the service is always amazing special mention to Chris who is always a gem very friendly and always goes above and beyond thank you I will be back and bring the family next time the atmosphere in the pub is great always something going on and people having a great time

Very friendly staff,especially Christine and keira.Christine couldn't do enough for us and was lovely to interact with.The food was a good price and the portion sizes were very generous. We're certainly looking forward to our next visit.

We came as a large group for a family birthday meal earlier this week. The restaurant is lovely and spacious and we could all sit together with no issues. The food is exceptional. Worth the money that we paid. All beautifully cooked and came out hot! And we weren’t waiting too long for our food between courses. The staff are great. All of them were so lovely with the children in our group. Special shout out to Christine, who we may hire as a babysitter! Such a lovely, patient lady and she is such a credit to the team. We will definitely be returning again and again. Thank you to all who made our visit so enjoyable. 100% would recommend!

What a wonderful Sunday afternoon! The service was incredible, the atmosphere was warm and the food was delicious. We had a range of food from the menu: Sunday lunch, fish and chips, the Moss Bank stacker burger and a children’s chicken nuggets and chips. A special shoutout to Chris who was exceptional in making sure everything ran smoothly. We asked for the children’s meal to be served first and the dessert to be served with the adults’ mains. This was not a problem and meant we could all eat as a family.

Amazing food, probably the biggest chicken burger I've ever had. Even though the pub was busy because the of the Euros, the food came rather quickly. All staff behind the bar were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Christine who went out of her way to make sure everything was okay with our food. Definitely recommended.

WOW! The food we had here was amazing. We had chicken fajitas & beef sizzler on ciabatta bread with chips and salad. Everything was perfect. Such fresh and tasty food and good value for money. Far better than most pub foods I’ve ever tasted. Lovely spacious pub with an outdoor seating area too. Would definitely recommend and we will be going back with our family and friends soon. Updated Review. I just wanted to come back and say that after a not so great visit we were very kindly invited back….the usual chef was back (had broken her wrist on our previous visit) and WOW the food was incredible! Everything was spot on so glad we gave this place another try. You MUST try the braised beef 10/10! We will definitely be recommending others and returning ourselves.

First visit, went with wife, adult son, and daughter, the pub is open and really nice, plenty of outside seating. Good selection of beers, food was excellent, staff and service was spot on, couldn't find fault with anything. Can't wait to go back
