Anatolia Grill in St. Helens

My first visit to this restaurant tonight, New Year’s Eve based on the recommendation of my mum who is hard to please and had enjoyed a meal here a few months back. We booked a few days in advance and were looking forward to a change. I’ve had Turkish cuisine before and enjoyed it. The restaurant was very busy and while we ordered drinks fairly quickly, we waited another twenty minutes or so before the waitress returned to take our meal order. We waited for an hour and a half before getting fed up and caught the waitress's attention. We told her we’d ordered ninety minutes ago and she apologised and said she would see what she could do. Pretty soon the order arrived. The staff seemed offended that we had complained about the wait and were brusque in serving the dishes. My chicken Ali Nazik was cold and the staff member was quick to explain that this was because it was served on a bed of yoghurt sauce. This was a reasonable explanation but on trying the rice I found it cold. The plates were not warmed and the food was lukewarm by the time it arrived at the table. Nearby customers were having similar long waits and earwigging a conversation, poor excuses were being given for the delays. I would try this restaurant again on a less busy night as the chicken was delicious but I think that they were booking too many people at a time and not enough time was allowed for diners to complete their meals before the next booking arrived. Perhaps more staff were needed, or there were too many tables for the staff to properly provide a seamless dining experience and a speedy service.

We are still here 2 hours later with no food

Placed an order for delivery at 3.49pm, to be delivered at 7.30-8pm, as I knew it would be busy being this near to Christmas and we had friends visiting from out of town at 7 pm, who hadn't eaten and we had recommended Anotolia to. Unfortunately 7.30-8pm came and went, I called to check my order status, was told it was being prepared and would definitely be with us by 8.30pm. 8.30pm came, still no food. I called again at 8.35 to be told the delivery guy had left with our order. The food arrived at 8.45ish. Food was luke warm, had to reheat. Disappointing this time. Our first poor experience here, hope they rectify delivery time issues, 105 minutes late and lukewarm is sub standard for this usually good eatery.

I came here for my birthday meal, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food was really nice too! Had a really nice evening, the staff all sang me happy birthday with a free big slice of chocolate cake with candles in, made my night! 😁

Love night for our annual Christmas catch up with the girls. Was quite dubious because I’m not really a kebab person, they can be quite dry and I’m really quite fussy but omg the Alinazik Adana was divine. So so tasty! Breads and dips a nice added extra. Great atmosphere and fab waitresses. Reasonably priced and great portions! Will definitely be returning and bringing my partner to try! Wish I lived closer

Early on a quiet night the welcome was warm. Having ordered pine we also were given some freshly cooked thin bread with small dips which were very nice! Main course was huge and very tasty. Pity (for atmosphere and the takings) the place was almost empty!

We came across this restaurant as we was searching the area on places to eat. We had the most beautiful meals was probably the nicest Turkish we have had. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back. We booked last minute and they was so accommodating great service and even better food.

Very nice food. Only feedback - please have some take away cutlery. But nice staff and food was good.

Lovely authentic Greek restaurant. Great food and wine, good value for money. Plenty to eat, even enough for tomorrow’s lunch. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

I went with 18 of my friend for my birthday bash staff were really friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble to them everyone enjoyed the food we weren't rush a lovely time was had by all the of us thank you xx❤

Came here didn’t book but was happily seated for a table of 5. Staff and management very friendly and accommodating recommend the full special food was amazing and we all took home a doggy bag as there was loads of food well worth the money will definitely be back! Thanks guys

The food is always great here, the best Turkish restaurant in the St Helens area. The service is good, staff are really friendly.

Went here for a friends 30th Birthday meal, they did a table for 18 of us, food and drinks were lovely, customer service was okay. We got a share platter for 4 with a couple portions of chips too...

Then a waitres came over to take our order, I did find it strange that she didn't have a pen paper to write it down but put it down to not been to busy. Wine and bread salad dips beautiful. Waited for starters. Finished wine while waiting! Got 2 beers been Waiting a while Big group walks in and sits behind us gets same bread and now on mains, we are still waiting for starters ! Asked waitres re starters and she actually said have you ordered we had been waiting over an hr ! (See picture ) All in all walked out shame as food looked really good but it was like them asking us who took your order, when did you order,. BTW yes they still charged us for the wine 22.00 They said beer was free although 22.00 for the wine seems a lot so not sure if beer was free. One last thing We asked for a VAT receipt and they couldn't provide one.

Very good food and the service was good as well.

I have ordered delivery from them a couple of times. Most dishes are great, from the simple fries and feta cheese salad to moussaka, mixed grill, sultan kebab, pides. I think my favourite was the salmon, which came with an amazing matching white sauce. The only fault I could see was the side salads, which are a bit unusual and not that nice - they should instead do something like the feta salad base (I.e. without the cheese) and it would be miles bettet. Still a small thing, so a worthy 5 star given the reasonable prices and fast delivery.

Have to say this is the best Turkish restaurant for miles absolutely amazing will be back . Food and service 10 /10 . Food , service all fantastic

One of the best Turkish restaurants where the food quality and quantity are unbeatable. The atmosphere has improved a lot.it was very good and now it is excellent. The customer service also is of high standards especially when the manager or the owner is around. Last time, the place was full and I am seeing it getting more and more busy compared to a couple of years ago. Good job

Waited 50 min for food. Then wen it came it was nothink like it stated! Wen asked were the ingredients was! Was told it was in sauce not on bed off!

Got a 37 pound sharer 2 lamb chops size of peas had more meat in a Gino’s kebab absolute rip off

All the little things missing, no salt on table , no napkins , ordered drinks, and they forgot and had to order again , food came and it was cold overall experience was disappointing.

Went last night (16/4/24) in a party of 16 for my grandsons birthday. We had a fantastic evening. The staff were wonderful. They were very attentive and chatted to adults and children alike. They changed bits on the menu to suit individual tastes. The food was the star of the evening. First of all portions are huge. Secondly the food is so good that you eat more than you should. Just can’t fault it.

Food was amazing and all of the staff where all so very nice and helpful, our server Tara was amazing the one thing that let it down was the kitchen staff sounded very harsh and abrupt with her and it seemed to us like it was for no reason she as a lovely woman and was very very helpful she deserves a pay rise 😊😊😊😊

The service was terrible, a really aggressive lady was swearing and arguing in front of us with another member of staff. The salad and Turkish bread was lovely, but the veg casserole was just grease which spilled out all over the table! It was on my top, my hands my phone and car keys! I asked for a desert menu and the girls said ' I don't think we have one' then came back with the menu I ordered Balaklava (there was only 3 options for dessert) she said she'd have to check she then came back it's unavailable and the card machine wasn't working so it's cash or bank transfer!! Also my dish was full of mushrooms which wasn't on the menu, I hate mushrooms!!

Most of the food was good, the Turkish bread and salad was lovely. The veg casserole was just full of grease over flowing onto the table it ended up all over my phone keys top!! One lady worker was really aggressive and quite abrupt, she was arguing with a member of the kitchen staff and swearing her head off when we arrived, was quite unprofessional.

Went in on a Monday night and had the place to ourselves, so I can't really comment on the atmosphere. Our waitress had just started the job and struggled a bit but she was very charming and got help when she needed it. The food was absolutely incredible. We had a share of a lot of the menu and nothing could be faulted. The flatbread and the onion relish were particularly memorable.

Have been many times and have always enjoyed the food .this evening we arrived at 5 pm and were promptly sat down menu provided and drinks order taken that was when the problems started 3 diet cokes brought and very quickly sent back as they were flat the replacement not much difference, mains arrived but no cutlery and no plates .seemed staff problems although the lady who took our orders was very helpful .the food was as good as always if they can sort out the staff problems I would happily recommend it as I usually do

Had a fabulous meal this evening. Staff even arranged for a table close to the kitchen because I'm always cold evening thought we hadn't booked!. Food was great and very good portions. Chef even came out to speak to us. Great place great staff and mostly great food!!

Absolutely disgusted with the food here there was a hair in my food and when I told them they dismissed me and was very rude the owner came over and he was really rude with me I will not be back at this disgusting place

11 of us went for a meal..a table left while we ordered as they waited that long..but foolish us stayed..absolutely terrible a 2hr wait for our food when it eventually turned up 2 mix grills not touched as freezing cold 1 meal even had a proper fully frozen chip..I think 3 full meals got eaten..4 refused to pay..Best food was bread and salad n even that came with no dip..used be lovely food ..no beer on draft then no vodka..if we wanted cold food could of stayed home n had cold turkey. 1 server run ragged actually felt embarrassed for the place wouldn't of minded if it was busy.. another table complaining bout asking for drinks n being left waiting.. they got 15 customers tonight who said they'd never return

Went for birthday celebration, even though booked earlier in the week, having trouble finding you, waited 10minutes to be served,then 20 minutes for the drinks..nothing wrong with the food..service..won't be going back again sorry.

Went here for our works Christmas meal and the food was amazing! Huge portions also. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

Food was delicious, there was plenty and couldn't fault this however service was the worst we have experienced, even saw others walking out. Took at least 15 minutes for drinks order to be taken, didn't have a food menu at this point. Once food order was taken we received starters well before the 1st round of drinks. Starter plates were still on the table when the main meal arrived. Then we were told 2 minutes after we have been given the bill the card machine didn't work, and to make a bank transfer or find a cash machine.

This restaurant had us sat for over an hour waiting for our meal then asked what we had ordered this is the most unprofessional restaurant I’ve ever ate at will NEVER GO AGAIN

Great place to dine at. The food was absolutely amazing. Service is spot on waiters are friendly. Especially Jamie, keep up the good work lad. Definetly would recommed this place.

First time here tonight. First impressions were that the place was clean, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We didn't have to wait to order our meals, which was soon brought out to us. The food was absolutely delicious, and really good value for money. We will definitely come here again

Great experience of authentic Turkish food in town. Jamie served me with full attention, very humble and young lad. Mixed grill was top notch and the soothing musics played just enhance the atmosphere and taste of food. Highly recommend to try them for all good reasons

We were seated in an area to accommodate around 9/10 people but there is only one way in or out of it. So if you needed to go the toilet everybody on your side of the bench had to all stand up and move out the way which is bad enough whilst you're waiting for your food to come so even worse when everyone was eating. They should have left a gap at the other end of the seating area for thos at that end to get out. Nice staff tho.

Mixed platter for 2: Not up to its usual standard today and one of the meats didn't taste right so that got left. The seating is well past its use-by date. Service was great as always. Give it a try. Lots of parking to the rear.

the waiters were preoccupied with everything else except serving the customer. they forgot to bring me dessert, and I had to ask them if I will receive it again the same day 😅

First time i have ever walked out of a restaurant before the food order was taken. Waited 20 minutes before being asked for drinks ordered 2 draught pints. Served us 2 warm bottles after asking for draught beer again was told they had none asked to swap the 2 warm bottles for cold ones told they had no cold beer. Cutlery and plates not clean place just looked a mess. If you can't even get a cold drink right what hope for the food.

Ordered a takeaway and everything was restaurant quality! Don’t usually get that with takeaways from dine in places. Prawns with mushroom and garlic was amazing as well as the chicken and lamb sizzler.

Amazing place to drop by with the whole family, the food comes in fast, the price is definitely worth it for the amount of food you get and it's quality is excellent! 5 stars from me!

My experience at Anatolia Grill was exceptional. Even with a last-minute booking due to issues at another restaurant, the staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The scent of BBQ and charcoal filled the air as we entered, which instantly got my taste buds excited. Sitting us down close to the window enhanced our experience. My wife enjoyed a refreshing glass of pink gin and lemonade while I indulged in a pint of the Efes. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time, providing helpful recommendations from the menu. Before our main dishes arrived, the staff surprised us with freshly baked bread and dips, which was a delightful touch. The Chefs platter was suggested, and it was a delicious and plentiful mix of BBQ'd meat that left me feeling completely satisfied. Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable and friendly evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone searching for a tasty and welcoming dining experience. Thank you Anatolia Grill for the great night!

1st time we'd been there and everything was great. Just a word of caution, the portion size of the meal for 4 was MASSIVE so don't fill up on the bread/salad/dip starter that you get automatically (we ordered hummus and olives too - mistake cos of what followed!!). The baklava was absolutely to die for. Can't recommend too highly the Efes beer either.

Worst takeaway ever. Food is not edible, 35£ thrown in the trash. Falafel ordered was a shamble to say the least. Save your money and go eat elsewhere 👎🏽

By far some of the worst takeout we ever ate in our entire life. This is a shame to authentic Turkish food. We didn't know whether we ended up with eating falafel or dog food. Greasy and raw patties of dog food they name falafel!

Went to Anatolia Grill on a Tuesday, was still quite busy for a Tuesday evening. We ordered halumi fries and borag to start, we also had a complimentary side of Turkish flat bread with various sauces and coleslaw. For main course we had a sharing platter of chicken, lamb, ribs and pork with rice and salad. All I can say is the food was fantastic, the staff were excellent and the service was great. Found a little gem of a restaurant here and we will definitely be going back. Couldn't fault it.
