The Model Fish Bar in Erewash

Model has always been my favourite place as I love the kebab wraps! I ordered fish today and fish cake and a large chips. The chips only served 2 people, most of the chips was hard, the fish cake had a texture like it had been microwaved, the fish was mostly batter and had a microwaved like texture. I will definitely be getting kebab again but nothing else. Really disappointed as it’s usually amazing. Also had to wait 2 hours.

Great chippy. Food always pipping hot. Great value for money. Good choice of food from chip shop food to pizzas

Placed an order at 17:54- said there would be a 35min wait. Rang back at 18:45 as the order wasn’t here yet, they said there was a delay and that our order had been started, be approx 30 min. We then waiting another hour before ringing again only to be told “sorry we haven’t started it yet it’ll be around 45 minutes”. Unacceptable service. Used to like this chip shop now the service is just shoddy and unprofessional.

Este pequeño "fish and chips" siempre está lleno y hay que esperar a menudo pero siempre es de buena calidad y delicioso. Buena relación calidad-precio.

The best fish and chip shop in Ilkeston. The fish are cooked fresh so when you enter the shop and there is a queue ask the staff to put a fish in the fryer for you so by the time you are served you very tasty fish is cooked

We use this choppy once a week for delivery food excellent we won't use anyone else gets quite busy at times so expect a wait but well worth it best there is inilkeston

I'm a regular user of the model fish bar, the value for money is excellent and the food is always piping hot. Good variety of your usual chip shop goods.

We have used the Model Fish Bar quite a lot and have always been pleased with our fish and chips. Today we had a large fish and it was over a foot long and was very tasty. You have to order you fish on your way into the chip shop because all fish is cooked to order

After at least 10 years since last visit I was told that this chippy was delicious so decided to see for myself. They were not wrong Chips were hot and very tasty a proper old fashioned chip shop. Although also does kebabs and pizza massive improvement since last visit 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟

Standing waiting to be served is normal at this chippy, no one seems to be served quickly, but the quality once served is Ok.

Excellent for chips & kebab & salad. Sometimes u have to que but its worth it!!! The owner is very pleasant too.
