Just had delivery today it was Luke warm the curry sauce had split in bag .even can of pop was warm . Definitely will not order again 😒

food was cold and not much of it for +£15 driver dropped off else where first or was lost.

The Chips are dry and the worst chips I’ve had. And the restaurant won’t take responsibility.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. Always love the food. Don't know how much it cost because I didn't pay.

Mondays is currently Fish-chips-sauce-drink for a Fiver.

Food was lukewarm warm when it arrived, had to put it in the microwave to get it hot.

Was recommended to the Cods Scallops in Long Eaton some time ago by a friend and have been using the outlet quite often as a Takeaway, always very pleased with the quality of food at a reasonable price. That is until last Friday!! I decided to try the Cornish Plaice, baked with the additi0on of the "potted shrimp, lemon and butter at an extra cost of £2.50 - WHAT A DISSAPPOINTMENT!! The "shrimps were minute and only 4 of them (less than the size of half a pea each!!) a few herb leaves, and I mean a few. To make things even worse I ordered and paid for a Garlic mayo sauce but they forgot to put that with my order!! NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!

The fish was really good if on the small size for what it cost,the mushy peas were a complete rip off.The chips were a good portion but very dry and not very tasty.

Thursday 13th Feb long eaton went and got 2 take away meals sausage chips and peas and fish cake chips and peas with a can of pop each £4.90 a meal was very disappointing with it the chips was over cooked and hard and fish cake was dry so will not be visiting the shop anymore when shopping at long eaton will stick to the one we always go to l think u need not to cook so many chips at once will fair today the pigeons enjoyed them 1 star

Went here for food after a relaxing spa day with a friend, we were impressed! The food was delicious, especially the cod. The batter was amazing!! The staff were also very friendly and the restaurant clean. Would definitely make a return visit.

Fish was alright but the chips were 100% oven chips. Could’ve made at home. £20 not exactly worth it… looked like oven chips, felt like oven chips, tasted like oven chips - definitely were oven chips. Had an absolute shocker there lads 🤣

Went here for a little Christmas treat with my friend. We loved our meal, it was so delicious. We had the Turkey, stuffing and cranberry pie with chips and gravy and a deep fried mince pie with brandy sauce for pudding. The pie was so good, nice pastry, lots of meat and really tasty. The mince pie and sauce was certainly different and even better than I could have imagined. My mouth is actually watering now thinking about that lovely dessert! The staff were really friendly and polite. Appeared happy and were smiling. I was able to use my Blue light discount too which was an added bonus. Thank you so much to all of the staff in Long Eaton. I was working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and this meal out was a treat with my friend from my fiancé to try helping me have some nice memories during Christmas due to the fact that I was working and honestly, it was really nice.

it costed me about £20 including delivery for one large haddock and chips. I can't believe how extremely disappointing this meal was. the fish tasted okay. honestly, I couldn't really tell that it was freshly cooked. the chips tasted old. I thought that maybe the reviews were too harsh as I've bought from them many times and it's been fine. my £20 should have been spent on cakes or other non nutricious things. they would at least have been nicer on the tongue.

I ordered food through Uber eats. I’ve bought food from here before in person and had good service; however, today it took over an hour for food to be delivered. My food arrived cold, and what I ordered was different to what arrived.

Not usually one to complain but had to share poor experience. Ordered for family £50’s worth of food. Chips underwhelming, stale texture. Pie was £8.50 and filling was tasteless. Scampi and the cod were the only redeeming feature as they were pleasant. All drinks were not packed, and when politely called back to share this feedback, was met with an obnoxious attitude with a “it’s been very busy” excuse and no apology - accountability would have gone a long way. Overrated and overpriced. Stick to your local.

Extremely disappointed. We ordered £50 worth of food for delivery. Pie was tasteless, chips were underwhelming. The order was wrong and items were missing. When called to share this feedback, was met with a frosty excuse of being “very busy today” with no accountability for error. Overrated and staff need training on customer service! Not usually a Karen, an apology would have gone a long way. Overrated, stick to your local chippy!

I brought my son here today to get a kids meal as a good boy reward ar school. They only offered pork sausage either batterd or not. The intention was to get him fish as we don't eat pork. We were pretty ashamed thay there is not a fish item on the kids menu and when asked why they don't do anything we was told it's the owner who writes the menu. This is terrible for a fish and chip shop.

I know it’s Weds night, but I’m still paying for the quality I didn’t receive! Very disappointed, prawn cocktail was 3 leaves of gem lettuce (literally), a few prawns and way too much sauce. No bread and butter. The batter on the fish was really weird, according to my Dad it had ‘stringy bits’ and I could see some weird texture in it even though I didn’t taste any. My parents won’t be ordering again. (Hopefully Just Eat will refund the prawn cocktail, otherwise I won’t be ordering again either)

Had a lovely meal here after a relaxing afternoon at the spa. Really enjoyed the baked cod. My friend had the salad, I wish I had too as it looked so nice. We'll be back when we're next in the area.

Awful service, part of the take out order ‘forgotten’, attitude of staff poor. Ripoff when you have to return and they just give you a smaller portion of what was missed! Never again, rubbish service.

Terrible , order and payed for large chips, large cod and small cod & 3 curry sauce to take out. Not rushed off their feet as only one other couple eating in, got home and no chips, just two fish and curry sauce! Went back and they seemed unsure and just said sorry mate and then gave a small chips. Couldn’t be bothered to argue with them, not worth it. Need to get with the service, feel like it’s gone down hill as staff just couldn’t be bothered! Robbed as over £21!

Dreadful! Filthy tables, literally had to ask for it to be cleaned. Service was shocking, waited 20mins to get a drink. Served the main course and we asked where our starters were... delivered at the asne time - well about 2mins after we asked were they were!) - they didn't realise they hadn't served them!!! Food was well over cooked and they couldn't butter a slice if bread if their lives depended on it! Never again!!!

After getting comfy, we the staff member came over to take our order, We went for two mini fish and chip deals and a kids meal. The kids meal was right on the price point, including a drink, main meal and desert. We chose the fish finger and chips, to our surprise the fish fingers were huge, including chips in a mini sand bucket. For the kids dessert we went for ice cream in a pot. Staff throughout were very attentive to our needs and everywhere was spotless. We will definitely be visiting here again in the future.

All the local Cod's Scallops are great but the Long Eaton one is the best . The layout is very spacious and clean , the food consistently top notch , the service fast and the staff very friendly . Better than Skeggy fish and chips by far. Eat in , cod chips and peas plus a mug of tea for £10 takes some beating . The mushy peas are the best ever too .Everything about this particular eatery is 5🌟. Try it !

Order was not what I was expecting part missing cold. Won't be using you again.

Food always 1st class. We get baked fish instead of batter and it's absolutely delicious. Staff are always very attentive and look after you. One of our favourite restaurants.

Went here with my family the other night. Stood by the ‘please wait here’ sign for a couple minutes before we were finally seated at the same time another family walked in. They received their menus from the waiter but we had to go get our own from the bar. We were surrounded by a handful of dirty uncleared tables for over an hour, it just didn’t create a nice, welcoming atmosphere. Service was so slow. After 30 minutes, we finally got our food. The food just isn’t as it used to be. We received our bill and it was just over £45 for 2 adults and a child. We didn’t even have any drinks! Very expensive for it was and definitely won’t be going back there.

Update 2024. Prices gone up a lot since Covid. Patchy service. Opening times are incorrect. Say 9.30 but fryers close at 8.50 said Luke, so no chance of sitting in restaurant after this time. To be fair, not sure about the freshness of takeaway after 8.50 if the fryers are off.

Went with my mum yesterday the fish is absolutely lovely 🙌🏽 no complaints on the peas either. The chips were okay, still ate them. The young lady that came to the table was very attentive and polite bless her very soft spoken and helpful I think the manager also very friendly may be her mum they have a likeness to each other. Will be revisiting 🙌🏽

Amazing food and really friendly, welcoming staff

Went in for takeaway. Staff were bad and food was burnt, hard and mostly uneaten . If I wasn't in a hurry would have taken it all back .Willnot be going there again

WOW, everything was PERFECT! From chicken nuggets to tandoori kebab! This was for my birthday celebration and we were all trying each other’s and exclaiming how perfect and tasty everything was! For four of us, it was really expensive vs the usual takeaway brands, but for a celebration and reasons for not wanting to go out, this was THE perfect takeaway for us! Definitely something we will consider again!

We ordered two large cod on batter. What we received was neither large nor in decent batter. This company has change massively, and not for the better. When we first bought from them the fish was excellent, now it was the thinnest fillet you could get away with. See the photo.

Panko coated prawns £8.60 ! for 3 small prawns supposedly king size……crazy. I would order again if I won the lottery. If you are watching your pennies, forget it.

We went this evening. Crunchy calamares like none I've even seen. Fish ok, but maybe not fully cooked, chips rubbish. We won't be back. Also 60 quid for two of us! Go to Sawley Catch instead!

Food is very good but you do seem to pay for it, not really sure when a plate of chips and mushy peas got to £7, but its no longer affordable if your hoping to get a treat on a budget.

The cod was absolutely delicious and the curry sauce was very tasty but the chips weren’t that good especially at £5 a portion. Overall I was happy if the chips were as good as the rest of the meal, shame.

Just called on the way home, used to enjoy fish & chips from the cods scallops in Wollaton. I was really disappointed, the quality was poor and the Long Eaton offering is a poor representation of the brand. To illustrate what I mean, the tub of mush peas was just liquid, no peas at all. Just like watered down pea soup. How can anybody serve this? I don't normally complain but it was not good at all.

Ordered the prawn cocktail and the Marie Rose sauce was spicy and we don’t like spicy food. You need to state this in the description. Went in bin, £8.60 wasted. Rest of the meals were gorgeous.

Just been first time for 4 years used A 30£ voucher tried to charge 30£ for small fish chips twice after complaining got another voucher to use again but don't think it's worth it

Superb as always. A seaside restaurant treat that always delivers on choice, service, surroundings, price and taste. This place oozes quality and never lets you down.

Great menu, all the classics plus their own great dishes, homemade fish cakes, battered sprouts before Xmas, seafood, great modern chippy with a seating table service area.

Shared a mini fish & chips and battered pigs in blankets. Fish & chips were superb with crisp light batter, perfectly cooked fish and lovely chips. The pigs are full-sized but unfortunately the sausage was very salty and did not come with the brown sauce as described.

Very good fish and chips restaurant. Would have got 5 stars, but. They got two things wrong with our order. The wrong wine was served and we didn't get everything we ordered. Also, the chips varied in size and the smaller ones were incredibly hard. Apart from that, service was friendly and quick, and food was very tasty.

Was looking for a chippy in the area and that came up as the closest to where we were. We grabbed fish and chips and battered hallumi for take away. We live 1 year now in Nottingham and so far we weren't impressed with any chippy we tried. The Cod's Scallops though was by far the best, so far least. It's also worth mentioning, for whoever cares about it, that fish is skinless which is what were looking for all this time as we don't eat the skin. We will definatelly go back for it.

We have lived around the area for 3yrs and decided to have a sit down meal, we both had cod and chips and a side order of minty pea fritters and all we can say is every bit of it was fantastic. The staff are absolutely brilliant and very polite and courteous so happily recommend if in the area 😊

It's OK about sums it up for me personally. The award winning pie was nothing special. Veg in a chip shop steak pie is definitely a no from me. All told OK, nothing to write home about and a little on the expensive side.

My order did not show up at all so my food all paid for I had a message saying it was ready and no one turned up with my food

We had the seafood platter which was fantastic. Great seafood restaurant that's well worth a visit. Further update: made another visit in September and I was absolutely blown away by the steak and ale pie. Every mouthful was rich, full of flavour, carrots cooked perfectly , steak tender and plentiful, the gravy was thick and hot but not scalding, the pastry was flakey but also soft. Absolutely perfect and stunning pie. I've never had one like it, I'll never look at pukka pies the same again.

I had not been to any of the COD’s Scallops restaurants before and I had heard some positive reports but it did not live up to its reputation. The chips were good, so was the mushy peas and the curry sauce but they were just the same as you get in other fish and chip shops. I had half a lobster which was good but not much meat for the price. The cod was over cooked which made the batter very crisp, so much so that it shattered as you tried to cut it. The thin end of the fish was dry and over cooked. Two meals and two drinks cost £36. It was over priced and cooked with little care. Their bottled beer “Scale Ale” was better than I expected. I was disappointed. If I was to go again I would have chips, curry sauce and a beer, the rest was all overrated.

We found this fish & chip restaurant after a day at the local spa. The restaurant was really clean and very well kept and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Our food was ready quickly and was just delicious. I'm glad we found this place, we'd definitely visit again when we're in the area next time.

Great food and kids under 12 eat free when dining in.

Order was left on our Front Doorstep. Nobody rang the Bell or knocked. We don't know what time it was actually delivered. Order was cold when we found it !! Had to be reheated in the Microwave and was horrible. A total waste of almost £40. This has happened before but they at least rang our bell before putting it on the doormat and going.

Tried the sea bass as never had before, very nice. Gravy is amazing and chips were really tasty too

Hands down best chip supper I've had. And couldn't get further from the sea! You get what you pay for; beautifully crunchy batter, and crispy chips that melt in the mouth. Even their own made ketchup tastes incredible. And you leave without the heavy after-dinner grease-slump you get from other chip shops. Great service too.
