kayleigh is an absolutely amazing server would 100% recommend, definitely coking back again.

We’ve tried a few different meals here recently and all have been excellent. The bar and waiting staff are great. Very polite and welcoming even when very busy.

This was our first visit to the Millhouse and we will definitely be going again! It was really busy but we got served quickly and the staff were great. Really friendly and welcoming. The regulars were really friendly, too! The drinks were reasonable and there was a good selection of lagers. Can't recommend highly enough! We had a great time 😊

It was actually really nice, quick and easy, with good service. There was no atmosphere as we were the only ones in there but that’s not their fault, would return!

Last night I was with my family for dinner. The wait time for food was ridiculous, then the food came separately as 2 meals went to the wrong table.The pulled beef on ciabatta was absolutely disgraceful 4 overcooked chunks of beef on ciabatta that was dry with virtually no sauce. 3 other tables complained in the area we sat. Apparently the chef was new !!! How can a chef not know how to cook Pulled Beef !!! It had taken me 4 months to get my Mom out of the house .. and this is what her experience was ( that’s the reason I didn’t complain .. if it was just me & my husband I would have demanded a refund !) the poor waitress was getting complaints left right and centre. I also had to go over and get my own cutlery as nothing on the table and I wasn’t given any. The locals are lovely people in this pub .. what a shame when you try to keep our local businesses going ! Hugely disappointing experience for a lot of diners I suspect last night. You need to sort your kitchen out ASAP ! This was once upon a time a great place to eat with good service.

Sorry but not impressed. Wife had paid for her mother&friends to go for a meal here,, food&drinks ordered, unfortunately after waiting an hour.(told initially delay in kitchen) asked where food was, sadly by then they asked for refund, to make matters yet more annoying. Upon going to get refund at till,, mother in law had to pay for her drink, was initially told to get free drinks,, but they had enough wasted time,, thanks! ,, they had there meal in. Morrisons, as they where that hungry,, poor service and communication.

The food was very basic, 3 dark meat cheap fish fingers on 2 slices of white bread with salad leaves for £7, last year it was on ciabatta bread with 3 chunky white fish fingers and a mixed salad, same price, no comparison. Quick service is a positive.

Slight problem with my daughter's food. It was dealt with with professionality and courtesy, offered more than one solution to the problem and were more than apologetic about the matter, due to this ended up staying even longer for their welcoming and apologetic response. Would 100 percent recommend for lovely family dinners.nice for a little meal out or to gather with friends.

Food was horrible, I asked for a well done steak, got a medium rare, waitress where running around like mad, not enough staff on, felt sorry for them, tried to get a waitress, no way, left most of the meal. Very disappointed. My sister had the fish and chips, more batter than fish, the chips where horrible, tried 1, it was yuk, music from the Irish singer was way to loud, just no need for it, you just couldn't talk, very disappointing, left early, ok love music BUT, not that loud. People where leaving, don't blame them. We left early because of the volume of the music. Very disappointed.

Really like this place. Everything is as you would hope it to be. Great atmosphere, food and service. We often visit during the day and the young lad behind the bar is always friendly and creates a warm welcome. Only negative is the "Dog Friendly" policy, not keen on eating a meal with animals walking around.

We had a fantastic evening at The Millhouse last night celebrating my special birthday. There were 25 of us in our party so we pre-ordered - everything was spot on and everyone enjoyed their meal. There was lots of choice and the meals were very reasonably priced. We were seated in a lovely separate area which we were able to decorate. The atmosphere in the pub was great and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were friendly and helpful. There's plenty of parking, plus outdoor seating and a kids play area. We will definitely be visiting again :)

First visit the place was rammed, not much left on the menu to choose from, no condiments, staff with bad attitudes and it was generally an absolute let down. I would have given that visit zero stars by itself. Second visit, much nicer inside, much tidier and cleaner. Good menu choices and nothing appears to be 'out of stock'. Friendly staff, served quickly, ate up and cleared off. Text book.

Sunday Roast - ordered 1 Chicken and 1 Roast beef - normal size Both roast gorgeous, meat, 3 roasties, mash, peas, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, parsnips, carrot & swede (maybe) yorkshire pudding & gravy Chicken was a 1/2 of chicken and beef was 2 decent slices No fault whatsoever would definitely return 😁 Sorry forgot to take picture

Food was lovely and tasty and the pub has transformed again and hopefully continues to produce quality and attract new customers

I often go here for drinks and food, events and bingo nights. Staff are amazing always very helpful and friendly. Food is delicious and great portions. Would highly recommend and look forward to many more days and nights at the mill house.

Fantastic family and dog friendly pub

Christmas 5 COURSE DINNER ! arrived early and was promptly seated at our table there was a bottle of prosecco on the table unfortunately this was sat in a bucket of water and not ice perhaps they'd ran out as every table needed an ice bucket... poor food service ... very very slow meals not arriving together (table of 3) 1hr10 mins after finishing our starter we got our main . our daughter's pudding arrived 1hr after finishing our mains but ours did not arrive until we explained to a waitress we would of all liked to eat together as a family (3) poor quality (nothing like the Sunday dinners we love here ) the meat was nice about all really food not as requested I requested very little gravy (it came literally like a gravy soup ) very disappointed arguments between other customers and staff literally at our table until a member of staff kindly moved the argument to outside and later apologized to us as it was a bit worrying. we ended up calling it a day before the last course as it simply wasn't enjoyable. maybe the times between courses or the portion size but we all left hungry and made food when we got home not what you'd expect after booking a 5couse meal .

Not been in for a while but had enjoyable afternoon/early evening. Large selection of alcoholic beverages good atmosphere and on Mondays two pints for the price of pint and and a half . Happy Mondays all round .😁

Popped in while passing through St Helens, lovely little dog friendly find. Lovely staff, a few great vegan options on the menu and my Ve Bombay burger was lovely! There was an acoustic duo playing (Sunday around 6pm) who were also really good. Definitely recommend!

Good food and good atmosphere. Dogs are allowed, which is nice, but it can get a little noisy at times whilst we where there.

Great late afternoon and evening food was fabulous as was the service. We reserved a table and stayed to watch the live music. It was busy but plenty off staff was working and no waiting.

Dog friendly - which is big plus. Bowls and treats to hand. Cracking pint of Moretti too - it is £5 for the pleasure mind, but it is what it is. Definitely worth another visit and I'd recommend it.

Went yesterday for tea . I ordered chicken with gravy and a couple slice bread and butter . Seriously the gravy was in a jug and i could lift it out with a fork it was that lumpy/ cold . The bread was that stale it was rock hard . Chicken dry as hell . And not like i could put the gravy on it . The young girl waiting on . Was lovely i asked her to come look at the food and touch the bread . Also would she put that gravy on her dinner . She was very embarrassed and said no . I then asked her to go and relay my complaints . I was sat there for another 20 minutes . No one came back over . No manager. No refund was offered. Quite clearly you could see the food was not eaten and inedible. At which point i left as Quite clearly they didn't care enough to resolve

It's a clean restaurant/pub... I've had a few good dinners in here, and a few good nights on the ale too. They have a nice beer garden for kids to run around. A very nice pool table. Overall good atmosphere. Plenty of parking.

Called in today for lunch, had the fish and chips, we were impressed, it was lovely, and the young man waiting on was very good and attentive. Didn't catch his name. Would recommend

Visited on Sunday 26th February for Sunday lunch. Absolutely delicious, and all home cooked. Will definitely be returning and will certainly be recommending to family and friends.

We called in on Saturday for a meal/drink. The food was very good and the staff were very polite and helpful. We left before the entertainment started as we had our dog with us and it would have been too noisy for her. However, we will return another time and hopefully enjoy the music. Thank you

The wait for drinks at the bar was far to long and was even left unattended for a while. However the food when it came out was good,(steak) some of the others not so good, chicken was rubbery. There was live music but this was far to loud. The staff were friendly and helpful, I don't think I would recommend it for an evening meal, maybe lunch time would be better.

Not a great experience, food was only average. A big group at the side of us very rowdy and a couple of families with a bunch of kids who were running up and down stairs and making lots of noise. Young lads behind the bar were friendly though.

Good music live singer Ian was great , decent pints and comfy environment didn't eat but seen some food and it looks good . Worth a visit

One of our three locals. Food is OK *pub* food, I did go to a party there and the buffet was beautiful. I think with all local pubs, the bar staff should be more chatty and personable, not just friendly with their mates.

Brilliant old fashioned pen and paper fun quiz every Thursday night followed by bingo quiz and play your cards right from 9pm and landlord puts food on at the break.. Good atmosphere!!

Had the gammon, thin tough, terrible. Won't be going again

Myself and a few friends booked for a meal here on Monday 4th July, none of us had ever been before and to be honest we weren’t expecting what we received, we all ordered our starters and main meals after ordering our drinks from the bar we all ordered different choices , apart from a few who had the same. WOW ! Not one complaint and there were 12/13 of us ,The food was amazing even the dessert . The staff were all friendly and helpful, Even the chef came out to see if we were all happy with our meals, Yes we were :). We will definitely be visiting here again.

Very disappointed we were the only ones in the pub and the food took 40 minutes to be served. Majority of our food was cold, my corn on the cob had come straight from the fridge, We got about 5 chips each with our meals and every piece of my meal was cold on the chicken platter. I did say to the young lad that it was cold and he just said oh was it! Great customer service! NOT!! Avoid at all costs!

Not seen my mate in a while so decided to grab a bite to eat somewhere, have a few beers and have a catchup. First impressions were really good. Nice decor, fair amount of people eating and drinking, food looked good too. We got in about 7.30pm and the first thing we did was ask what time they served food until. The barman said around 9pm. We thought great, grabbed a menu and a pint, sat down and picked what we wanted to eat. Went back to the bar at 7.50pm and said I'd like to order some food please. The same barman said, sorry kitchen closed 5 minutes ago. I thought he was joking but he was deadly serious. I said, you said 9pm? He just shrugged and said kitchen closed 5 minutes ago, with a smug grin on his face. At which point we had to leave as we needed to eat. I wasn't impressed at all! We were looking forward to an evening of food and drink and having a catchup. Not good customer service at all.

Great place atmosphere was good stuff so friendle the meal eas 10 out of ten worth a visit will be returning

It looked like it was going to be nice but it wasn’t. The gammon was thin and tough. Someone else in our party had the pie and that was nice. Just avoid the gammon.

I would give them 0 stars, The service is terrible, the food is crazy expensive, little portions and raw and everybody smokes close to the kids area... absolutely a disgrace of a "family " venue. Shame.

Had the 8oz gamon steak was perfect.

My husband and I took our 2 granddaughters and my husband son to the Mill house pub tonight 21st May 2022, the food was nice even though they got the order slightly wrong my granddaughter and stepson had burgers and my husband and I had the steak which was nice, but I was disappointed as the music was far too loud, we couldn’t hear each other talking , the staff wasn’t very friendly and it was just too rowdy , which is a shame as my husband and I was only there 11 moths ago with are little dog and it was lovely ,

We had a lovely family day and lunch at the weekend, was lovely food and we all had different meals, so it was good for choice. Staff were pleasant and new manager was a friendly guy. Good play area for the kids, dog friendly as well , we will be visiting again, and would recommend. From what I’ve seen advertised there is plenty events lined up for the future. Good luck New Management.

Terrible experience, waited over an hour for food. When it came it was awful , chips cold and been reheated or under a lamp, gammon like leather, peas like bullets . Will not be returning .

The staff were lovely unfortunately the food was not good and had to be sent back as it was cold and the chicken was uncooked.

we have just been. we were told that it will be an hour for our food but we had to wait over an hour and it was not very nice. the pub wasn't even packed. it's a shame because i used to like it in there before.

Just had a meal here today with my family...won't be returning.😏 Sadly all our main meals were over advertised, 'lashings of gravy' we got a tiny jug each and it was like water, under cooked and cold, took nearly 45 minutes to be served with them too. Desserts were nice but very expensive and again waited half an hour and then had to ask if they'd forgotten them. Staff who served us were lovely and offered an apology and said they would tell the manager. We didn't receive an offer of any recompense for the poor meal served and the manager was suddenly conspicuous by his absence. Extremely overpriced meal and a very underwhelming experience that we won't repeat, sorry. 😳

Great meal with my niece and hubby, the millhouse is a good pub in St Helens.

Terrible. Awful service, was informed prior to ordering that it would take 20 minutes. 1 hour 20 minutes still waiting. If you order from here, expect to receive the over priced food a year or two later!

Bear in mind, this was New Year's Eve and covid deprived them of staff! The barman wasn't (a barman) and shouldn't have been there. Despite being slow and backed up, he managed his way through it. The food was good. Simple fare, well cooked. Took a while but the young man waiting on, clearing and generally running around was a star. My only gripe (apart from time taken) was the tables were really close together; bit of trial moving around!

Hello people ,, I was a chef in at Christmas and we got left with a hell of alot to do espically between two chefs who had only been in there no longer than a couple of weeks other one was only there a few days ,, I'm sorry to all the people who had been told everything was fresh and it wasn't I'm shocked myself at this poor situation not only that I've been lied to after this and now currently out of work,,, it seems all they were botherd about was profit from all who attended what a joke a bad one at that ,, Two chefs to do nearly 280 dishes with the place been rammed as it was FROM ME one of the chefs who was working IDE LIKE to apologize from my self , really sorry you went and had a poor meal from a £ 37.50 3 course meal ,, what a shambles , I was used for the Christams period only and that's why I was lied to afterwards saying it needed to close for a FULL CLEAN DOWN , RANG UP day after plus another 3 days after to book tables n guess what it was open all the time what a Joke betrayed lied to and eventually no work at the end of it ,, This place is a Bad Joke to all staff ,, Just needed to leave my point But again As a Real person I'll like to Appologise on my behalf if I walked that day no one would of been Served so I just had to work with what I had joke and I'm sorry on my behalf

Called in mid week to try the new menu and was not dissapointed. Mrs W. had the beef and ale pie and was well pleased with it , even though she did not finish her meal that was not a reflection on the food just that she has the appetite of a budgie.I had the rump steak which whilst a bit on the fatty side ( this will happen with rump steak ) it was cooked perfectly, the peppercorn was well flavoured and bang on , some places the peppercorn is bland and tasteless or piled high with peppercorns which you still pick out of your teeth the next day. My ony gripewith the food is I asked for mustard and was given a bottle of American mustard which is about as tasteful as a Bernard Manning gig, come on its Colemans English mustard or nothing I'm afraid. Overall staff were friendly and gave good service for the resonably priced meals. Will eat here again no problem.
