The Millers Well in Newham

Popped in there with couple of mates to say goodbye to the pub we used to all use when we lived in the area. This is its final week before it gets taken over. It has always been good for a cheap drink and a nice place to meet up before going out

This place is not very good at stock keeping and has limited choice. I wanted a meal and a craft beer. But I was immediately told that the didn't have any eggs, any bacon and no fish. So, the scampi and the fish and chips were unavailable. I wanted to drink a Portobello Stiff Upper Lip, but they didn't have that beer anymore. The same with the Punk IPA, the San Miguel and the new Mad Squirrel West Coast IPA. All out of stock. The only IPA they did have was the Shipyard IPA. And this was at a Friday night just before the weekend. So, they desperately need a manager that knows how to make an inventory and orders a delivery in time.

Popped in for a quick lunch as work locally. Jacket potato, beans, cheese and a side salad. Service was quick, pub was clean, and in terms of value, price is not too different to a maccers or KFC! The pub wasn't particularly busy- lunchtime in the week. Customers were largely men over 60, which is typical of a spoons. They were all on their best behaviour however- no drunken antics going on. Shame I could only have a soda and lime with my lunch as it was back to work after!

Excellent pub. Delicious and affordable meals, in the comfortable, atmospheric venue that wetherspoons pubs always have. Great customer service, we were given complimentary dessert after some of our order didn't arrive.

Service is really bad, not as expectation. I have noticed that staff are really rude while serving. I think this pub is not Asian friendly. We feel undervalued. I have also noticed that customers sitting near by me are treated nicely. Is it because of they are white?. If yes then you should have clearly stated in your policy. If you want your pub visited by all then it would be better to improve your serving policy. Moreover we found dirty plate on our table, staff took the plate but didn’t clean the table. Please note that this is not the first time. It’s not too hard to address customer by saying for example how are you or thank you or enjoy your drink or cleaning the tables. We as Asian can expect at least such minimum quality service. Can’t we?. Hopefully next visit will be better one.

2nd time visiting the Millers Well. Food good plenty of choice. Staff excellent especially the lady Zoe. Zoe is pleasant and happy and makes you feel like a valued customer. Wetherspoons are lucky to have her.

When walked through the door a blonde haired woman was screaming from other end of bar,when i realised this rudeness was directed at me " oi you where's ya mask"? I realised she was a member of your staff,which surprised me as the way she was behaving I assumed she had been in the bar since breakfast.. I explained that I was exempt and was willing to produce evidence from the hospital as to why ( which she wasn't entitled to but hey) I was and had been since last March- to this I was greeted with a scowl and informed " I don't care". It seems expecting to be spoken to with some basic common courtesy is to much and as I was first person of a group of 5 I told "her" that i would be taking my custom elsewhere which I heard her mumbling loudly " what did he say". I understand I am just deemed as just another punter and my money won't be missed, being this is a spoons-but I don't think the staff (and seems if the company who employ these type of service industry staff don't either ) realise we the general public have got used to not having public houses as a means of socialising and don't see them as we once did! Maybe the time of the 'spoon' in areas like these are over and certainly this one is for me! If staff can only act like yard dogs to customers then paying customers will spend elsewhere even if a few pound different for a service they should expect!

I went here with a couple of friends and out of the three meals one was cold one was overdone and the third didnt even arrive despite telling them twice.Full refund. Will still go for beers but will nevere eat there again. A decent atmosphere and friendly enough staff but they could have done a lot better with the orders as the kitchen wasnt even that busy.

This is my local Spoons, and I love it. I always take people here, after placing an order you will instantly be much happier as the prices are unbelievable. After buying a round I find myself grinning like a lunatic, it's a joy that seems to infect everyone in the pub. The staff are complete legends, this place has atmosphere and characters in abundance. We are truly blessed to have this in East Ham, I would travel to get here - you would probably save money anyhow.

Went here a week ago with a couple of friends and at least two of us well given food that was not exactly what we had ordered. A decent atmosphere and friendly enough staff but they could have done better with the orders.

If you have Jacket potatoes, you have chips. Genuinely ruined my meal. If they had told me first, I would have ordered something else. Actively one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time.

The place is brilliant, Louise, Ryan, Chantelle Chloe, Rebecca and Ryan are best. I Always have a take away and they accommodate every time, if they have run out of takeaway boxes then i have get them from next door which is so good. Thank you all

A good local Wetherspoons pub. Usual good daily deals on food and drinks. Small beer garden, friendly staff

If you're looking for value drinks, beer and food then this is the place to go to in East Ham. The food is hit and miss but good value, if it's really bad you can take it back which I did the other night. Most of the food is frozen then made, the steak is done fresh but not cooked as you want it all the time which I think depends on the staff taking and relaying the order and the chef that night. The breakfast is good and value and the apple crumble and custard is yum just like old skool dinners. Food is served until closing; 11pm Generally the staff are really lovely apart from a couple of people, they are young and a bit attitudy! The new manager is keen to make it a nice place which he has. This chain - Wetherspoons - do a great deal for £1.50 for a hot drink with unlimited refills and deals on food like drinks included with a meal. The clientele are mainly local blokes (men). Older retired men are there from 9am and sweet and up for a chat! It can get a little rowdy and 'propa' East End ie you will hear ALOT of swearing so if you're easily offended go to one of the other pubs in the area like the newly done up Denmark Arms or red lion who attract a completely different clientele reflecting the gentrification of the area! Over all value for money and friendly staff, mostly. Worth a visit is you're checking out the pubs locally to compare.

Great place for brekkie, clean, good atmosphere and the staff are always friendly! Add the wetherspoons quality and big portions and bam! You have a winner!

Encontramos el pub por casualidad y tenemos que decir que estábamos muy contentos de haberlo hecho. El personal era muy amable y atento, y no podía hacer más por hacernos sentir bienvenidos. El personal de la puerta incluso nos reservó un taxi al final de la noche. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo si alguna vez en la zona.

Entré aquí para tomar algo y comer algo con un amigo. Sin embargo, la comida estaba apagada ya que solo estaban en el proceso de devolver la vida a la cocina después de 2 semanas de actividad.

A pleasant pub with good food at a reasonable price. The beers are also reasonably priced. This is a local pub that is nicely decorated.

Vine aquí con mis dos hijas los martes 24/10/17. Me atendió una señora llamada Mel, que es muy amable y servicial, ya que nunca he estado aquí antes de recomendar el menú infantil y el bistec para mi comida, tienen una buena variedad de cervezas y bebidas para niños. El equipo también fue muy amable y educado, mi comida llegó a mi mesa muy rápidamente. La gerente de la señora Mel era muy familiar con mis hijos, que es muy raro de encontrar en la industria del pub hoy en día y la felicito por el nivel de servicio que recibimos. He recomendado este pub y volveré para visitar.

No puedo decir sobre otros horarios de comida, pero hoy desayuné aquí, fue un café terrible. La comida caliente de Luke solo sobre huevos comestibles sobre tocino bañado y champiñones crudos, pero en el lado bueno, el personal era agradable, acogedor y servicial.

Fuimos a los Miller bien en Barking Road, East Ham para una bebida tranquila y nunca he encontrado tan odioso y antes de comportamiento grosero por alguien que sirve en un pub.

El pub estaba muy limpio, muestra eran preciosas.

Fuimos un Jueves para el almuerzo y por supuesto era un curry curry como es jueves. el curry era delicioso aunque la piscina aún estaban poppadoms un poco de grasa, pero en general la comida estaba muy bien y el servicio muy amable y servicial.

Joe es una ventaja para los molineros. Ella era ayudar a los clientes con amabilidad y fuertes de personalidad. Los clientes que buscan después de todo ella, diciendo el infierno, todo está bien con usted? Ella es muy buena y ella lo hizo mi día....

Ha estado en muchos Wetherspoons en todo el Reino Unido y este es sin duda uno de mis favoritos. Siempre amable personal haciendo lo mejor posible para que te sientas como en casa. La comida es buena, las bebidas son baratas. Los inodoros están bien para estar en un pub y con los estándares del Reino Unido.

First time at this pub but been to plenty of wetherspoons so expected great choices and prices.As we were going to the theatre to watch dirty dancing we didn't want to go to far so this was just near our hotel and not far to O2 arena,as we entered found a table straight away it was very busy decided what we wanted which I had the 14oz steak chips peas and my husband had the fish chips and mushy peas both meals were lovely but did take a while to come as there had been a mishap with a customer and waitress ending with our dinner on the floor so had to be cooked again.Both myself and husband were kept informed that it would be as quick as possible so with this happening we had to rush our dinner a little as time flew by but in all very nice.

Called here on our way to Upton Park to watch football. Although we were away fans we were welcomed. All the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a few drinks. After the football we called back in and had more drinks and a meal. As always good value food and drinks and nothing to complain about.

Never been to east ham before as i was visiting for a friends birthday and we thought we would start our night out with a nice meal and some drinks. Being a wetherspoons we know it would be cheap and cheerfull like usual however the price wasnt the only thing that was cheap. For starters we ordered a few bottles of wine for the table, instead of being served with the bottle and some wine glasses we were given a large plastic pitcher which looked like it was about 10 years old, very grubby and full of scratches along with plastic wine glasses which looked the same age and personally i could of bought better ones from Asda. Bazare as it was to be served wine in a pitcher, i understand if they dont allow glass for certain reasons but when people are drinking out of pint glasses i didn't quite understand. We then came to order our meal myself and my friends ordered two Chicken ceaser salads and cumberland sausage and mash. About 10 minutes after ordering we were told by a member of staff their was no ceaser salad dressing (could of told us when ordering) and asked if we wanted anything else, not being too hungry we only wanted salad and asked if we could have any other sauce, the young lad serving didnt know what other sauces they had in the kitchen, and 5 minutes later came back to tell us he had "normal salad dressing" when we asked what this was he didnt know and shrugged his shoulders, getting annoyed we just gave up and took a gamble on the salad and mystery dressing. My friend was then told there were no cumberland sausages and that they only had vegetarian after waiting another 10minutes ( not being told at the till again) getting annoyed and behind schedule we accepted whatever we got with our meals and asked if we were going to get a discount for the major delay in food and also not getting what we payed for, when we asked we got a very rude stare from the boy and his collegue who said "its just sauce mate, im not giving you a discount for sauce" even though in my personal opinion ceasar dressing is what makes a ceasar salad!! my friend also did not receive any form of apology or discount (not to mention when the food actually came it consisted of about a handfull of salad leaves and barely any chicken or dressing, the "croutons" were also just bits of soggy toast cut up!!!) overall the pub was nice and it has a nice atmosphere but the service and food even for a wetherspoons was horrific! very rude staff with very little experience. Safe to say i will not be going back.

This is a lovely place to have a burger and chips before West Ham beats another away team. This time it was Norwich, OK it was a 2-2 draw - but the atmosphere and food is traditional British!

Visited before the football game. On the day of our visit the place was short staffed as three of them did not turn up for work. They had no plan B so the service was slow and offered only limited menu. This must be the worse Weatherspoon pub we have ever visited. The place has great atmosphere and layout is great. It nice and clean with beer garden at back.

Food was ok but the staff were rubbish. Forgot our drinks orders twice, staff didnt know the food and the bar staff we were served by seemed very incompetant. The only redeeming features were the fact that the food was decent for the price but that was probably more to do with the chain quality rather than skill or care of the staff.

Most pubs in East Ham/Barking/Daggenham area are substandard for a variety of reason. Many simply don't attract sufficient customers. Others are filled with disproportionately high numbers of senior men. Some are magnets for violence. The Miller's Well is an exception; an oasis in a somewhat spooky land. Every day and night one can find lively crowds of all ages. There is a security guard who takes care of problems should they arise. The food isn't fantastic, but at par with British standards. Staff are professional and friendly, which contributes to the steady flow of customers.

Amazing food. Super fast service. Staff was very friendly and pub was very clean very good place to go with the family Def recomend :)

Decent local pub in the East Ham area.Always busy, nice working man/women pub which sells typical pub grub. Staff always pleasant.
