Costa Coffee London in Newham

Since my last review nothing has been changed, shame on you manager/owners, look at this pictures!!! We asked the staff to clean our table she give us the tissue with chemical! So disappointed! I think this place should visit inspection

Very disappointed, poor service and staff. Coffee it is expensive and they make unlike coffee, and they disrespect as too. Just waste money, and time.

Whenever we are in the vicinity we always pop in to this cosy place. The service is great and staff always pleasant They do one of the best flat white coffees ! Not tried the food but hopefully soon Thank to all the staff

We popped in for a break around lunch time and I had gluten Free flap jack and pot of teà.

We are regular costumers, cannot keep this quiet, the bottle with chemicals should be in the safe place ,kids safety,very dirty every single corner! Toilet different story,dirty,broken! Please do some action

Great Scarborough street had no wifi! I wasn't told when I ordered and asked where plug points were for charger which is incredibly frustrating, latte average but wifi 😫

I was not at this Costa but wish to make a comment about Costa in general as I visit many in London-they in general don't maintain toilets well-often only 1 of 2 work resulting in queues Often stuff in toilets are broken or dirty. Costa make plenty of money and their toilets are often unsatisfactory

Really lovely, cozy, warm atmosphere. Service is good. The variety of food is not as big though.

The service at this branch is outstanding. I went here the other day and Elvina was really fantastic. Will be visiting again.

There are 2 wonderful ladies who are both baristas here, both absolutely lovely, work really hard and keep this coffee shop sparkling, they are very professional, make a great coffee and create a lovely atmosphere. Staff can make or break a retail business, the staff here make it, Costa be sure look after them.

I always get the drive through, sometime they mess my order but overall I love the brand Costa!!

I enjoyed the iced chai latté and the staff were quite friendly. Really beautiful café setting where one can relax & chill.

I shopped in next with my family spent over £100 my son wanted to use the toilet but we was refused by the manager saying we need to be a customer and need a code !! Wth hell a child needs to go toilet they carnt hold it in like adults can ! I kindly said when you're out shopping and your child needs to go toilet and you get refused remember what it feels like you said to me !! They were not even busy

Very bad attitude from the manager , we had shopped at next itself and as this store is inside we decided to grab a coffee . My son wanted to use the toilet and he said you need a code and are you a customer i said yes but before we can order my sim is desperate for the loo he blankly refused you need to buy something !!! I didn't bother buying anything in the end and nicely said to him when you have or if you have children and they want to use a toilet when your out shopping and being told you cannot as you need to buy something kindly think what you did to me

Too many flies. Two ended inside the cup. Drink is average

We were served by Lax at the Costa in Next Beckton, he was absolutely delightful and his customer service was amazing, really made us smile - thanks!

**Updated 2023 5 Star Rating** What a difference a year makes?! I've used this restaurant on several occasions during July & August 2023, and wow does the coffee taste good. The barista knows her drinks and is spot on every time! I hope they maintain this standard, will visit again in a years time! My go to drink is a Cortado! **2022 - 1 Star Rating** Restaurant was generally clean and tidy. Barista area was not up to scratch. Cups used to pour espresso shots were dirty with previously overflowing coffee stains. The barista should keep their own area spotless. I ordered cortado, ended up with a very milky coffee which was more like a latte. To be honest, I expect better from specialist coffee shop, I think McDonald's would have probably been better on this occasion.

9.5/10 Best Costa experience so far, A while back i use to have such a negative perception of Costa, But ive come to realise they really do have the biggest kick from their shots compared to other big brands, Customer service seems to be consistently on point across the branches, But best experience so far in this branch, A certain green American establishment could learn a thing or 2 from these guys, But then again Costa would be a 7/5-14/10 if they had the same food items as pret lol

Just got in to Costa coffee to order a take-out almond croissant I was out of the shop in minutes after a spray service just a shame the croissant didn’t match that The croissant is not fresh at all, at least one day old ( very upset) after the first bite Ps: make sure you ask if they’re fresh or go elsewhere else ( good luck )

I visited on 14/4/23. It’s common for staff to loose friendliness, when working long hours with repetitive duties. However the staff here were full of positive energy, they were polite and friendly. This branch could do with an interior update.

They are serving one of the greatest breakfasts in town. I can not get tired of it. However, sometimes, I really need more diversification.

What happened today is Horrible. I want to Unit 8, Brent Cross Shopping Park, NEXT, Brent Cross, London NW2 1LS I was shopping in Next, and had to use the toilet because of medical reasons, i had surgery 10 days ago and at one point i didn't feel well, i need to use the toilet and wash my face. The Waiter said No ! i can use the toilet only if i get something from the shop, i said that im was shopping at the moment on the same floor and it is Emergency i need to use the toilet, i ask her very nice and polite. Still she didn't let me. I understand tthat they're having a rules, but sometimes you need to make exceptions l, you need to be a Human. I was disappointed how people can be so Robotic and rude without any feelings about others! I will never go there! STOP SUPPORTING THE BIG COOPERATIONS LIKE COSTA! Suport the small local business instead!

Furnishings all ripped The drinks I bought were lovely.The problem was the furnishings. The long sofa I sat on was full of holes.The Costa was in London just 5 minutes away from Theatre Royal Drury lane .The fabric needs to be replaced asap. Not a very good look for new customers like us. Went in there on the way to the theatre. Not been to london before so cant remember the rd it was in

Location is in the corner and before gi to washroom or children soft play center. There are outdoor space and next to them Caiwala and new Starbucks 😀.

Tasteless coffee, only a hint of coffee flavour and milk. Never had this bad drink before.

Awful experience. Me and my fiancé are regular costumers at Costa. Normally we always visit the branch in Mile End but we tried this one and honestly worst costumer service ever. Staff very rude, particularly the Asian guy saying that the product is not available (Mango frappe with boba) and they stopped doing it, seems funny as we had the drink literally the day before. As we didn’t have enough, he told us straightforward to go back at Mile End and what we are doing here, very unprofessional. Reach Beckton branch afterwards, close less than one mile. They had the drink plus the boba. Never again.

Very disappointed, went in for tea. The staff were not paying attention to customers needs. Asked for a tea to have in and was told they had no teapots as only paper cups. For me tea is not tea I’m not had in a tea cup. Water glass was not clean and tables were left uncleared

Just visited Costas in Gallions Reach and thought I had to leave this review straight away after the experience my family and I had! So went in to get some coffees. There was a girl making drinks at the counter and another flirting with an already served customer at their table. Bare in mind they are not busy and only one other customer present and already served. After waiting 9 minutes at the counter and despite the staffs seeing there is a customer waiting to give their order (to help pay their wages), I had decided to walk out due to no service at all! No acknowledgement, no smile, no hello! Absolutely shocking experience!! Will never walk in to this Costa again!

Always enjoy visiting this Costa. Staff always friendly, store is clean, drink and food is great.

Fast and efficient service. Good selection of beverages hot and cold and decent option for a quick bite. The place was not very busy however toilets were filthy.

Today at around 12.00 I went into your Costa that is situated in Next Gallions reach. I purchased a cappuccino and a jubilee muffin. I enquired what was in the muffin and the young lady asked her colleague. I was told it was a Victoria sponge with jam. Just to be sure I asked if it contained banana as I m allergic. The ladies checked and said no but to make sure I didn't get a cross contaminated one, as there was banana cake in same cabinet I was given a fresh one from a new pack. I must say your young ladies were most helpful and I enjoyed both coffee and muffin.

Just went to get a coffee only to notice the price hit of an extra 30p, is near on 10% rise. There loss I’ll probably buy less.

Being a regular customer of Costa Coffee, but Gallions Reach branch know how to make hot and cold coffees.

Lovely place to hold a small meetup or do some WFH. Great mac and cheese and Anna was so accommodating and a great host, will defo be going back again

Standard costa but service is VERY slow

I bought a frappe and usually it’s TT but today it wasn’t sweet and she gave my boy cream when he didn’t ask for it

I am a regular at Costa & have visited many branches. I have never had to complain but unfortunately this time around it was unacceptable. The coffee I had ordered tasted so bad. After one sip I had to ask for a refund. As well as the taste, the actual cup I was served my coffee in had not been cleaned properly & had old coffee stains on it. Lastly, we sat by the window to keep the kids entertained until I noticed dead flies all along the window sill!! 🤢 Safe to say I will NEVER be returning to this branch ever again.

The coffee was good but they were so unorganized, there was only one person before me and I had to wait almost 10 min to get one espresso...

I discovered this shop only last month and now I visit it almost every week just to stop by and have a coffee. Great with this cold weather and people always nice and friendly.

I am giving a 5 star only for one reason and this is because of the lovely lady Gemma. She is the only person that gives a really positive smile and makes my mornings and lunch times. Costa should higher people like her. There is the person called Edward who is rude careless, giving negative energy to customers. I am grateful for the service of Gemma. We wanted to sit on the tables out side for fresh air unfortunately they have ashtrays on each table making it a smoking area so the air wasn't that fresh 🙄.

Good parking facilities and changing rooms. Doesn't have as large a range as Westfield in Stratford, but isn't too bad.

Nothing wrong with the drinks but very slow service

This Costa Coffee is almost hidden from view being on the far side of galleons shopping centre. It's a chilled place to have a break and rest. Inside is spacious with customer toilets. Off peak sees a reduction in staffing so queues form quickly at checkout. They sell the normal Costa products and it has an outside seating area. Over all its lack of checkout staff is it's only let down.

Staff were friendly today coffee is always good ...so is the snacks on offer. Great place to chat with friends n family

Its an ok shop to have a take away or drink in coffee. Somehow is a bit dark inside but as a costa coffee lover, I don't mind and I definitely recommend this shop or any other Costa to anyone in look for a good quality coffee.

Now as you can tell from a costa fan. But lord knows what’s gone wrong here. We was one of the first in the store this morning. THIS is NOT aimed at any member of staff as I’m a strong believer that most care about their role and want to do a good job. The tables where dirty with squashed chocolate on the one we sat at. When my wife asked for a cloth to wipe the table down. She was told they didn’t have any. Look at the photos when tables where cleared they want wiped down. Staff seemed short on the ground not enough time to do the job properly Hospitality’s I’d in dire need of people we have literally seen them on the news. But hey let run what we have into the ground so they leave the sector as well Poor show Cheers DR

Lovely Cappuccino break during some Christmas shopping in a nice cosy armchair.

Waited 25mins to get a cup of tea here. Not even very busy..very slow service and no apology given for the wait. Another customer had ordered on line and waited 30mins to collect 2 drinks!

Could not get free coffee without app on phone. Not everyone has a iPhone bit annoying. Did use my card instead still had to use app.

Staff was polite and clearly described items sale. location is clean and tidy and uncrowded, with a wRm welcoming atmosphere. I requested Ruby chocolate drink. I paid with points on card as £5 voucher had expired. enjoyed my drink and would come back again.

Sunday, 08 August 2021 I went to check if a table was free before deciding if I wanted to order something to stay in or to go. Girl behind the counter starts shouting at me to leave. I told her what I was doing and she replied ‘obviously there’s tables free, why would you need to check?’ which is possibly the stupidest thing she could have said as they are positioned around the corner, behind a wall, and aren’t visible from the counter. I’ve been going to Costa every day for years but doubt I’ll go back now. The coffee is okay but I’ve found staff turnover to be high and customer service to be increasingly poor. Treat people like (expletive removed) and they’re gonna go elsewhere!

Just like any other Costa from its chain, does what you'd expect, nothing more, nothing less. Liked how it's located to public seating nearby, which is always a plus. Gallions Reach via Docklands Light Railway (DLR) or Gallions Reach Shopping Park (Stop R) buses 101, 262, 366 and N551 is your best way to get here or via car/taxi/cabs. Good.
