Updated Oct 23: Having sampled a few other places in and around St Davids. This place is still in my view the best service and quality around. Thank you so much for a great breakfast and fantastic service. Coffee and teas are recommended. Update 2023: still my goto place for breakfast and coffees. Some new staff and they all offer great service. A visit to St Davids would not be the same without visiting The Mill Cafe. Thank you. Great place to have breakfast all day. Delicious cake and wonderful coffee. Excellent service. And dog friendly! Not my first visit and God willing, it won't be the last.

Unfortunately, the information on the Internet does not match the offer at all. There was no breakfast and nothing at all on the menu. just coffee and cake. very disappointing if you come a long way because of it.

So glad to find this gem this morning ; esp when every where else we tried did not do breakfasts….only breakfast rolls or sandwiches . Great service, lovely, polite & friendly staff; even though very busy. The breakfast was well worth the hunt for & we are local to Pembrokeshire and will be back !!!

When I entered Cafe was told there was a long waiting time for food but said we were ok told to go upstairs where here coleugue would seat us ,she informed again of long waiting time for food ,we sat down and waited to be served when no one came for 20 mins to take our order we went downstairs and asked about being served which they said they would come up to us ,we then waited again but no one came and still didn't receive any service to place our order ,so we decided to walk out ,no body seemed to be bothered about taking our order ,they were not particularly busy at this time ,can't comment on food as we didn't have any ,it's not the food that takes along while it's the service.

Went here around 10:10am without a reservation and were told that we could come back in 10 or so minutes and they would have a table for us. Very good atmosphere and the food was fantastic and at a very good price (the welsh breakfast) the lavabread oatcake was amazing. Will definitely come here again

We had traditional Welsh Breakfast which was so good. We booked breakfast for two the following day but we had to wait for 40 minutes to get served and one of the waitresses was extremely rude. I understand it's a holiday season and she works in a very busy place but I felt too sick to eat. I will never go back.

We came to this cafe when on holiday last week. Two ladies working there one literally didn't smile the whole time and was very cold with us. When someone come in they knew, they were so nice to them .. I was scared to get told off and felt like a little kid.. Food was OK, nothing special.. They need to practice their people skills.

Had breakfast. No beans. It just wrong. Was lovely.

The food was fine (nothing special) and there were lots of veggie options, which was great. They were very nice to my dog. However, the service both times I visited was pretty abysmal. The servers did not seem interested in their jobs and even kept a queue of people waiting outside with the door shut well after opening time with no apology. They also served friends before other customers who arrived earlier. How this place is frequently fully booked, I have no idea, as there are other options nearby. I'd recommend going to the St Cross Hotel down the road, which has better food, better service, and opens earlier.

Absolutely delicious dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. We had an amazing meal tonight. Best place to eat in St Davids!! Thank you to the team.

We've been coming to the Mill for a number of years. The standard of service and the food has always been 5*. The Welsh breakfast is thoroughly recommended as are the various cakes on show. Yesterday we had lunch and the hot baguettes were a real treat. Looking forward to breakfast there again this morning in about 30 minutes.👍 Thoroughly recommended.

Delicious breakfast and great value for money

Can't believe these prices in 2024, amazing value! Posted a pic of the menu (Aug 2024). We got Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royale, a cooked breakfast and the bacon maple pancakes; all we're brilliant. Knocked a star off as we booked over the phone but it wasn't recorded so when we turned up a table wasn't available. They were accommodating however and freed up a table within 10 mins for us. We just nipped across the road to one of the many local shops whilst we waited.

Best “traditional breakfast” tasted in Wales + great welcome at 3:30 p.m.!

A lovely place for a relaxing breakfast /brunch. We visited three times during our stay in St David’s. My partner enjoyed the LARGE breakfast on all three occasions!!! I had the smashed avocado 🥑 on toast with roasted tomatoes. I don’t like eggs but they were kindly replaced with bacon for me. Lovely coffee, fruit juice and on one occasion I had gorgeous salmon 🍣 (left over from the weekend’s evening specials). Cannot name all staff but Hannah and Polly were super friendly. We had breakfast here this morning and it was great. Good coffee, I had the Welsh breakfast. My wife put together her own meal (you can do that here too). Everything was perfect and the atmosphere is fun and nice. Even though the shop was full, the owner was able to free up a little space for us and we were happy. Thanks for that. I can fully recommend Mills Cafe.

Great breakfast and lovely staff

We only popped in for a breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of options and definitely vegetarian friendly. Everything was seasoned and veggie sausages were soft and cooked properly. I ordered vegetarian breakfast, the other one is standard breakfast. Definitely worth it.

The Mill in St David’s offers an outstanding breakfast experience. I had the breakfast wrap, which was delicious, and also sampled some pancakes that were equally amazing! Initially, we couldn't get a table at 9:30am due to its popularity, but returning 45 minutes later, we were seated easily. Learning from this, we reserved a table for the next morning, which I highly recommend doing if possible. The location is ideal, right in St David’s, making it convenient. The ingredients used in the dishes are top-notch, and the coffee is excellent. The service is friendly and helpful, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you're in St David’s, The Mill is a must-visit for a fantastic all day breakfast.

Great food and really friendly service with no licence, so bring your own alcohol and save money as well. It was our dog's birthday (it came up in conversation!) so the waitress brought him a sausage with a candle in it! If you are on holiday don't miss this place for dinner. The home made cheesecake was a work of art.

Great Eggs Benedict the Hollandaise Sauce was too good. It was a little busy when we arrived so took a minute to get our food but the service was very friendly and the food was worth the wait! Definitely go here before heading out for your adventures in Pembrokeshire

Expensive - charged £22.00 for one bacon sandwich and two small bacon baguettes. The girl serving not the most helpful.

Excellent cafe! We were warmly greeted when we arrived and offered the option of sitting upstairs or down. Chose upstairs as it would be a little wat we up there. Partner had the Welsh breakfast and I had the bacon and avocado baguette. Both were delicious. Just as important as the food was the great service. Staff were climbing up and down those stairs multiple times but always with a smile and a friendly word. One of the best places we have eaten in this area on our trip!

When visiting St davids me and some friends thought we would go for breakfast, we asked a lady from the local pub (the bishop) where the best place was to go and she reccomend this place. When we opened the door to the mill we were greeted by a lovely lady called katlyn (apologise if I spelt it wrong) she told us they were very busy but we could sit in a reserved table as they wasn't expected for an hour. I ordered the eggs benedict, wow! The best eggs I've ever had! I highly recommend it! The mill itself is very cosy and bright, tables upstairs and downstairs, I do recommend booking in advance as the mill seems very popular with locals and visitors. All in all, I had a lovely meal, and service was excellent. Thanks guys 🙂

A small cafe with a limited number of tables so you might need to wait. Good selection of breakfast dishes which are available all day, plus sandwiches, cakes and some specials. Friendly welcome with swift service, but you weren't made to feel that you were being rushed. Had 2 great breakfasts and would go back.

The food was absolutely lovely, freshly made small menu which seemed to change daily. Our waitress Miriam was gorgeous!

Superb experience. From the front of house welcome (thx Hannah) to the greeting from the Chefs (James as always and new addition Brian), the other guests and the food. Food was amazing and very well priced. We were spoilt for choice so ended up doing it tapas style and ordering more than one plate each to share. Well cooked and presented food. Just sad that we didn’t have room to try all the dishes. But we will be back for those as well, and we’ll bring more of the gang With the menus changing each week, we’re likely to be very regular visitors! Many thx James and team very well done

Another tasty (real!) Welsh breakfast today (18/5/24) cooked by James. Friendly, smiling staff. My ‘go to’ chef for Welsh breakfasts since 2012 when he was in Trefin before St David’s.

You won't get a better full breakfast than this. Great coffee and friendly staff. Alfred (our dog) enjoyed his visit too!

What a find! A stunning cafe! Welcomed as soon as we set for in the door. Food was fresh and delicious. We had the Welsh breakfast, a standard breakfast, eggs Benedict and a warm baguette with bacon and cheese. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the only disappointment was that we didn't have room to sample the cakes afterwards! We thought that the food was reasonably priced too for the excellent quality. Really nice ladies running front of house, they were attentive and kind to everyone.

We came across the The Mill when we visited St Davids & was looking for something to eat & drink. When entering it was obviously a popular place as we were lucky enough to get the last available table. The food was very good with the menu offering a wide range of options for everyone. The real positive though was the staff & the atmosphere, the two ladies working at the till & taking the orders were very friendly and so welcoming. They even went the extra mile to provide pencils & paper for our eldest daughter while offering assistance to help settle our disgruntled 5 month old daughter. Overall would highly recommend if visiting St Davids & looking for something to eat & drink.

Excellent cafe! I ordered GF toast and jam, but my friends all got cakes. I didn’t realize that there were GF cakes. One of the ladies came out to explain that I had more GF options. This was very considerate! The GF lemon cake was absolutely delicious. I would love to come back here again.

One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. The bacon and sausage were lovely, I don't usually like fried eggs but this was more like a ?baked one which was lovely. Love cockles and the laverbread oatcake was gorgeous. Will be back!

Found this beautiful cafe by accident just off the main road where the butcher has his shop situated down a side street quite by accident on a day visit to the cathedral. The decor was lovely and service was excellent the lady who served us was so pleasant and made us feel very welcome. Our meal was cooked well and not expensive. Cafe and toilets were spotless, the staff should be very proud of themselves.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Food was lovely and fresh- didn’t take long to come either. Great atmosphere, would definitely visit again. We parked for free just across the road in the 2 hour zone.

Lovely relaxing café in the centre of St David's. Great coffee on offer and breakfast is served all day (also do things like eggs Benedict and eggs royale). The cakes on offer here will be sure to tempt you. Highly recommended but would recommend booking a table as it can get busy.

We tried The Mill on a recommendation from our host. Went twice but just for a hot drink and dessert. Really good cakes and drinks. Quaint cafe and we would definitely recommend to others.

Perfect cafe,we found this on our first day of our holidays, and returned for breakfast every morning, the food is lovely, the staff are friendly, they allow dogs downstairs. Caitlin (the young pretty girl who works there) was so helpful and always happy. Would recommend this place to everyone.

We pre-booked a takeaway Sunday lunch for 2. It was excellent. On time, very good portion of meat and veg, hot, loads of gravy and all delicious. This place is an absolute gem in St Davids. Will definitely return!

Sunday lunch beautifully cooked. Presentation spot on. Very clean. Great staff and lots of home cooked food. No dogs allowed upstairs which is perfect when eating food.

Called in for a snack, cheese on toast and as you can see served a delight. Staff full of smiles and nothing was a problem. Lovely experience.

Went to go to the cafe but because you didn't update your google opening and closing times we were unable to. Please can you update your google opening hours to ensure people don't travel 90 minutes to a closed location.

Friendly cafe in St David’s. Perfect spot for a jacket potatoes on a cold grey misty day in December after exploring the cathedral and palace.

All day breakfast choices good to see ( why stop at 12!!) Freshly and expertly cooked standard breakfast couldn’t be faulted. Quick and friendly service. A gem!

Very small area that is dog friendly and 50% with reservations on , when we arrived staff looked through the bookings , oh we do have a table upstairs however dogs are not allowed, given we had a dog we didn’t find that that helpful

Super place. Best in town for sure

No welcome here! The place was nearly empty but staff engrossed in a computer. A sign said please wait to be seated! Yet we were ignored. It was the first time my very elderly mother had been out since covid so I directed her to a table. Ordered tea and cakes. Yet we got the wrong drinks with no apology just 'its what's on the order' how can they get the drinks wrong when I repeated the order twice. A few other quibbles too with the attitude of the staff which made our whole experience quite uncomfortable. On leaving no thank you or goodbye. Sorry I won't be calling back as our custom was not valued.

Fantastic little café. Most of the items can be made gluten free. The standard breakfast was really good and the sausages are gluten free! Us coeliacs often have to miss out on the sausages so it was a nice treat.

Vegetarian breakfast this morning. Hit the spot beautifully, although the eggs benedict delivered to two adjacent tables will definitely be my order next time. My wife had a “build your own” breakfast was equally satisfied. All served by lovely friendly staff.

Our Sunday lunch was wonderful. Tasty home-cooked tender lamb, roast potatoes and parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, and freshly cooked vegetables. All served with mint sauce and lashings of tasty gravy. We finished off with Sticky Toffee pudding & custard and Syrup Sponge & ice-cream! Great service too and doggy friendly. We will certainly visit again and can highly recommend.

What a great find. Food is lovely, service efficient and friendly and the (flat white) coffee is the best we’ve had on our road trip through South Wales.

Had the best Welsh breakfast here during my first visit to the beatiful St Davids, lavabread and cockles were cooked to perfection yummy struggled to finish the cockles (few too many for me). Staying in a lovely cottage opposite i can see why this friendly cafe is so popular. And waiting for it to open for our last breakfast before returning home 🥺 .Sad to be leaving this lovely friendly village but we only live over an hour away so we will be back soon Catherine Mick and Meryl the dog from Gowerton Swansea (gods country).❤

We visited The Mill with our dog for a breakfast, delicious food and lovely staff. Highly recommended. Very busy, even out of season, which is not surprising as its a little gem. Would possibly be worth booking a table in high season, especially if with dogs as dog friendly area downstairs is limited.

Absolutely the best coffee in the area, the staff really know how to get the best out of their espresso machine. Eggs Benedict was excellent too. Be advised, because it's great here.....it's busy, even out of season 🙂👍

What a lovely cafe. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The salmon and scrambled eggs on toast was absolutely delicious, as was the bacon and cheese baguette. All very good quality ingredients and plenty of it. Coffee was great too. Excellent value for money - we will be visiting here again.

We were looking forward to our morning here but unfortunately we were met by an unfriendly member of staff who simply told us “no space”. There was only 2 of us and we would have been happy to grab a coffee in take away cups and wait for a table to become available however the frosty reception was so final we didn’t feel this was an option. It would have been much better to be offered an option to wait or perhaps a rough approximation of time - we would have happily gone for a wonder and come back in 40 minutes etc. It felt very dismissive and not at all what we expected after reading so many positive reviews.

Book for breakfast as they are always full! The food selection is very good and there may be a wait at busy times but it's worth it. We called in last week on 3 occasions and were blown away by the choice, content and yummy tastes. The food is always amazing, the coffees excellent and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Busy times, school holidays etc you should ring and book but drop in and book works as well. Best b/fast in town(city) and very reasonably priced. Love it.

We visited for breakfast on our last day, just as it was opening. We were surprised to see all but one table reserved. Lovely staff, great breakfast, good choice, Welsh options, veggie options. Reasonably priced, generous portions. We all agreed one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. You must book!

What an amazing place to have something to eat and drink. I went there with a friend but The Mill was so full that people were queuing outside. The queue didn’t surprise me because I have so many friends tell me how good it is. The staff were amazing and quickly found us a table and took our order very quickly. We had coffee and the most delicious scones with lashings of jam and cream. Although it was very busy still with a long queue outside we weren’t rushed. The price was really reasonable and considering that most restaurants and cafes have put their prices up The Mill has kept their prices affordable.
